Yet 39 days and the Lord shall break the power of the nations and overthrow them. Nineveh, even wicked Nineveh with all her violence and whoredom will rise up against these generations and condemn them because at the preaching of Jonah they girded themselves into sackcloth and sat in the ashes and humbled themselves before the God of Israel.

Yet 40 days and the Lord shall break the power of the nations and overthrow them.
moses was called up onto Sinai

“And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭24:18‬ ‭

Jesus was baptized and received the holy ghost and then

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:1-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

After Jesus rose from the dead

“The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: to whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: and, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in all cases there is a fourty day period of edification for the mediator of the covenant this would even apply to Noah who endured fourty days of rain before emerging and receiving the covenant for him and his sons

whenever God is about to announce ministry for man there’s a fourty day period and testing of the mediator

moses and Jesus both spent fourty days with the lord just before they spoke thier words of each covenant Jesus was the only one to ever pass the test and overcome the devil

As like Him, would it be so hard to say we can be given 40 days with God, and given the testimony of His Son, if we would but humbly enter into His promises, and even harder still, to cry out, "Enough I believe Lord". Perhaps not, I just said it. As is written, we see darkly but God can change it to seeing rightly for all of us :)

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh a sign, but not a sign shall be given to them but the sign of Jonah.

Jonah 3

1 And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

But that, of course, was the greatest sign of all.
Then is it no good for these nations and generations for God hates them and is actively destroying them to their faces. Come let us sit and set our faces against them and watch God break their power and see if any will acknowledge their errors and repent.

Will you also get upset if God chooses mercy instead of judgment?

No I will be very happy if they stop rewarding the whores and persecuting the faithful. Look though the clock is clicking down though and they have not acknowledged the errors of their society.

Also, take notice that Nineveh doesn't exist anymore either. They still got violently destroyed within 40 days just as God promised by Jonah, but in a later generation that refused to acknowledge their offenses and turn from them like the generation of Jonah's day.

Then be a herald. May God bless your efforts greatly.

Nineveh did repent and wasn't destroyed for another hundred years.

In Revelation, the apostle John wrote that the people left alive after the plagues sent from God "did not repent of the works of their hands............"

The willful, stubborn and persistent unregenerate will never acknowledge their errors.

Nineveh repented in Jonah, but in Nahum they were violently destroyed in 40 days for all their rewarding of the whores and hatred of the faithful. Which do you think shall be this society? Which book do these despicable nations resemble?

For certainty, but we need not be in the Revelation timeline to see God break the power of their wicked nations and leave them broken in the gutter where they belong.
