I think not.

Not to mention - we are talking about a 24-hour timeframe.

You should stop while you are ahead not-so-far-behind... ;)
Believe me you have no idea what I'm talking about. Just take my word for it bro.....

A
Adams chronological chart seems to think 6000 yrs is about right. The timeline fits the Bible and Gods word is infallible.
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Adams_Synchronological_Chart,_1881.jpg
the chart is too large to upload, it’s a 24 foot long book with all the genealogies charted out.
Wrong. The Septuagint indicates another 1800 years or so by that counting technique. So you are wrong out of the gate. But it's the counting technique itself which is in error.

Rabbi Akiva lopped off 1800 odd years from the Masoretic he altered. Among other things.

Get a clue bro.....

And do a search and read some of my posts.

In the Ball Earth model - if the sun "literally stood still" - the rotation of the
earth would have to come to a sudden screeching halt

Seeing as how it was God who created the refractive index of air along with
the laws of incidence and reflection, then it shouldn't be too difficult for Him
to tweak physics a bit in order to redirect the Sun's light without disturbing
the Earth's orbital mechanics.

For a complete rotation of the earth?

Biblical tweaks:

2Kngs 6:4-7 . .They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As
one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell into the water.
"Oh, my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!" The man of God asked,
"Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and
threw it there, and made the iron float.

Dan 3:26-27 . . So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,
and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around
them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of
their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of
fire on them.

Ex 10:21-23 . .The Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the
sky so that darkness will spread over Egypt--darkness that can be felt." So
Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all
Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or leave his place for
three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

The sun "standing still" would not be a 'tweak' - it has a much deeper and extended reach into the basic laws of physics.

And, BTW - in the Flat Earth model, it is "no big deal" - God simply stops the movement of the sun for a day and then sets it on its way again.

Simple.

Elegant.

Majestic.

CERN and it's science
I have heard somewhere that man makes plans and God laughs.
Wouldn't doubt that the comments in Heaven regarding this outfit bring on more than a few chuckles.
Maybe our attempts to understand the Creation is looked upon like someone trying to fix their cell phone with a sledge hammer.
I noticed my former place of receiving compensation for showing up was also mentioned somewhere on this thread as regards some sort of access to who knows where. I am of the opinion that some at JPL possibly contemplated this while receiving vital information by an osmotic process in the restroom.
True story already posted elsewhere; A light in a overhead fixture in a hallway required service and when maintenance showed up a gathering of some 5 people were there to watch. So it appears that the watch to 'work' ratio was 5 to 1. Tax dollars at work. It certainly seems to explain the private enterprise of today regarding space exploration. To a degree. JPL is still possibly Deep Space Network, DSN, oriented. The James Webb Space Telescope images are possibly processed there and maybe a consideration in that regard is that we are getting a final view of a 'small' portion of some of God's Work. Sure can't see much of the heavens from earth with all the light pollution. If you are in a region that seems dark and can see many stars at night it may still be less than even the numbers of 100 yrs ago. Makes me think of Revelation talking of 'darkening' of stars. Paradoxically by light pollution. ?????

This Is a poll to find out If the community believes that the Earth Is flat or Round?
Nevermind But it really should read spherical seems to me and seems there is a translation that mentions orb. This is rather humorous. I had a friend that would go on about the earth being flat and I found it a waste of time to discuss the subject. What does it matter in the end? Does the blood of Christ not cover mental blocks?

Grabs popcorn, lol. Always intrigues me how anyone would think it flat. But hey, just pray you flat earthers don't fall off the edge, lol. Sorry, just being silly.
I agree it is humorous and maybe a bit of pity or empathy should be shown. I asked the OP and no response about Christ's blood still is effective for people with mental blocks.

Around 2017 I first starting reading the Bible and following preachers trying to understand 'Christianity and the Bible'. My initial thoughts were that Amish are people of The Book. I also considered doctors as possibly Christians in that they perform miracles of restoring health and even bringing people back from the dead. Then I came upon Mike Hoggard of Festus, Mo., and his unusual pitch seemed to me to be something 'special'. He also would go on about Flat Earthers. Eventually it seemed to me that someone was yanking his chain and he didn't realize it. Even the friend I mentioned would make me think he was doing it for effect. I mention the mental block partially in remembering some of my own family members in regard to such 'phenomena' or 'condition'. Though the object of misunderstanding was not in regard to the Earth. So are the ones arguing against flat earthers also 'mental blocked' thinking they might change a persons view by argument or debate? This seems to be a tough nut to crack. Could be chain yanking and/or block. I once had a math book by a Lancelot Hogben and in the front he had this saying, 'All things are obvious but some time it takes a 1000 yrs to notice'. Maybe a mathematicians take on Spiritual blindness if that is what flat earthers truly are. I vote for mental block. Maybe another poll in this respect unless you have a certain simple answer, which I definitely do not see.

One more comment on this. Possibly need to give flat earth believers the kids toy with shapes and cut outs and see how they do. Also my apology to the OP as I didn't pay close attention as to who was pro and con on the posts. The OP may not have any skin in the game.

No - you just need to learn how to discern 'real' physics from 'fake' physics. ;)
Oh - there is the problem right there...

The idea that - without the "white-coat authority", no one on earth:

~ has any common sense

~ can think for themselves

~ can learn anything from God
I see, absent physics are real physics & I should think for myself & believe something based on nothing.

You are saying God is unable to perform miracles unless he has help from an alternative model of reality.

You can't decide whether you want to allow physics to be used or not.
You've appealed to an alternative physics without providing a basis for them.

Since you are dodging both faith and logic, there is no basis for futher discussion on the subject.

The reason I didn’t respond Is because answering that question would be an unspoken Invitation from me Inferring that’s It’s ok to derail this thread. In Other words you should start a thread asking that question so that no one will come Into your thread asking off topic questions such as “Is the world flat or round?😂

The sun "standing still" would not be a 'tweak' - it has a much deeper and
extended reach into the basic laws of physics.

Motion in the heavens is perceived relative to one's location. For example;
for a good many centuries prior to guys like Copernicus, folks sincerely
believed that the Earth was stationary and the Sun, Moon, and stars
revolved around us.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the Earth's rotation was halted in
order to make the Sun and Moon stand still per Josh 10:12-13. Now that
would require some major tweaking the laws of physics because
momentum would cause everything on Earth to be thrown about. For
example the Earth turns at approximately 1,037 miles per hour at the
equator. That's roughly double the speed of a commercial airliner. You don't
just slam on the brakes at that speed without somebody getting seriously
injured.

The laws of nature aren't absolute. They were created to regulate the life,
matter, and energy of the current cosmos. (Col 1:17)

As created laws, they can be easily adjusted by their designer; for example:
ice can be adjusted to burn your hand, fire can be adjusted to give you
frostbite, sand can be adjusted to float an aircraft carrier, water can be
adjusted to support a skyscraper, massive stone blocks can be adjusted to
the weight of a feather, and twigs to the weight of an entire tree. There are
many incidents throughout the Bible demonstrating God's complete and
unlimited control over nature.

Gen 17:1 . .The Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him: I am the
Almighty god.

Webster's defines almighty as: having absolute control over everything;
which of course includes power over not just commerce and politics; but also
power over all that there is; including death and the power of life; which is
a power that nobody yet as of this date has been able to figure out.
Humanity knows even less about the power of life than it knows about dark
matter and dark energy.

It is no less simple, elegant, and majestic (more so) for the Lord to cause the sun to appear to stand still in reality. I don't see why you and others have so much trouble understanding that the event in Joshua's time was a miracle and that the normal laws of physics were temporarily suspended. The extent to which they were suspended is irrelevant, for nothing is impossible with God, Who created those laws in the first place.

Or, to put it bluntly, your god is too small.

I live in a different place now, but my home prior to this one was excellent for star gazing...loved it and I miss it

the Milky Way was highly visible at certain times of the year (due of course to the rotation of the earth and it's journey around the sun) and it was so clear you could see satellites passing overhead if you were there at the right time and 'shooting stars'. Once I saw a fireball, exploding just above the horizon...I reported it but never heard back.

no light pollution but too much where I live now, even though it is in the country....much larger population though

There is one experience that I will always remember. My sister-in-law and I decided to go up to the family country home in the mountains one Thursday evening and get a head start on the week-end. We arrived at night and stepping out of the car we both had our breath taken away.

I have never seen, then, or since then, a sky filled with stars like that one was. There was no moon, it was late fall so pretty cool out and everything came together for the most magnificent display of the heavens as a person could ever want to see. This was about 20 yrs or so now.

Love the night skies!
