Pickup Ownership Poll

Hello guys. Am curious how many of you folks own a pickup currently or use as a daily vehicle. I don't drive or own a pickup myself, but used to live in a small Midwest town where half the vehicles in the church parking lot were pickups.

Choose a drivetrain style (2 wheel or 4x4/AWD) and model of truck you own. :)

I can't afford a pick right now 😅 but if I can in the future... I'll buy A pick up truck 😅


But I don't have the desire to buy a car ☺

Agreed. In this time of inflation, it is best to stick to used vehicles, or avoid having to need a vehicle until times get better. I watched excessive amounts of Top Gear as a teen in the early 2010s, so trucks are really cool to me.

Never was into trucks. Heck, I'm not crazy about cars. Not into driving. Unfortunately, the southwestern US offers no options that are better.

I love trucks, except for the really loud ones that are elevated. The small 2WD ones would be fun to do a burnout in though, but I don't drive. In fact, I don't drive at all. My ADHD and impulsive tendencies prevent me from operating road vehicles. Have never taken driver's classes or stuff like that. Hopefully, safe driverless cars (hybrids preferably, not Tesla) take over in the future.

I don't drive any motorized vehicles, and don't live in a dirt bike friendly town anymore. :) But, in the small town I grew up in, lots of country folks owned a dirt bike or ATV. Typically, the people ride a Kawasaki or Yamaha or something brand. Also, am slightly scared of riding a dirt bike. Have seen too many accidents on YT videos and stuff.

I asked the question, as many people at my church in the small town I lived in drove pickup trucks, so my brain made a correlation between small town churches and pickup trucks. Kinda want to see how many guys/gals here own pickups. I'm a data nerd... ;)

I only have a minivan, but it can "pickup" all the kids on the church bus route when the church bus feels like taking the day off.

It can also "pickup" a whole sound system when the church wants to do something out at the city park. :geek:

I drive a 4-door Silverado. It's a crew cab work truck used to haul tools, ladders, equipment and supplies and people if need be.

That's why I own it and drive it.
You try fitting 500lbs of flour in the trunk of a car.

Chevies are probably the best trucks, especially in the past, much better quality than Ford was. It is cool that yours is 2WD. As long as you keep heavy items in the pickup bed, the rear tires should get plenty of traction from what I have heard. 4x4 is only for very bad weather and mud. Apparently, 2WD trucks handle somewhat well on snow when the truck has sand bags or a load in the rear.

4WD is also something else that can go wrong on an old truck. More stuff to maintain and keep functioning if you want your truck to run.

2WD is much cheaper in the long run and usually they still give you a 4WD suspension on a 2WD vehicle....not a vast improvement but better than otherwise.
