I've been alone & homeless living out of a car a long time. I have a leg wound that I'm waiting for to heal.
I moved to the Portland, Oregon area, which has fewer Christians and some unique spiritual challenges, if you know the area.
I've been trying to cope with intense spiritual attacks, especially during nights. Some of it may have to do with unclean spirits.

I have very little privacy and safety.

I'm very aware of forces of darkness.
At the same time I feel hindered by growing up with a suffocating, overprotective mother, who tried to change my identity, change who I was without respecting boundaries and letting me grow.

Your prayers are appreciated.

For not more than I can bear,
and a meeting of needs.

"Let us pray the 'forces of darkness' are overcome by the 'light of the Holy spirit'
coming upon your life. And let us pray to know often in our worst times, God finds us.
And this often being a spiritual awakening never thought about before, and it may
happen in a blink. Let us be vigilant in all our going and coming and to know not
to be without hope."
'Amen'
'Praise God'

Geez man... I was homeless for a time. It was soul-breaking. I will definitely pray for you.

Dan, my prayers and best wishes are for you. I volunteered at a homeless shelther in my city for about two years. I had to walk to the shelter, through homeless encampments. So, I've seen the real face of homelessness and it's a brutal/unforgiving/hopless/worthless/ugly existance. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

My advice to you is, don't give up, don't live the rest of your life as a homeless person:

1.Seek help in Portland. The homeless shelter I worked with offered a 6 month stay. But in order to stay you had to follow their strict program/guidelines to get you back on your feet, sober, employed, and with housing. If a homeless person didn't toe the line with the program, they were asked to leave. All the rules were explained to them upon admittance. Not everyone made it through the program, but those that did were overjoyed to have employment and a residence and to be off the street. Look for agencies that will give you real/constructive assistance, not just a handout.

2. If you are on drugs, as most homeless are, you have to give them up. Drugs will destroy you.

3. Don't associate with the wrong crowd on the Portland streets, the criminals, drug addicts, career street people. They will only drag you down. They want you to share their lifestyle.

4. If you have family, don't hesitate to call on them for help. They might surprise you. You can use all the help you can get.

5. I don't know you or your situatiion, as to why you became homeless. But it will require effort, your effort, to turn the situation around.

6. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless!!!!!!!!!!!!! And good luck.

Brother Dan, Words are so hard to find, when you see a brother or sister in the desert, and the only person which can find someone there is the Lord Jesus. I know I spent 3 years in my car at one time! It was my own fault I like you got tired of people telling me what I must do, I told them what they can do!

And so it was, I took baths in holiday inn pools every 3 days, went into a market ordered some lunch meat, got some mustard and bread and found an isle to eat when I needed to, I worked when I could. At night I found a parking lot where few people were and prayed, I quoted Psalm 63:1-11 and told the Lord no matter what happens to me I shall stay faithful!! Much happened brother, and it would take far too long on here to explain, but the Lord found me, and indeed rescued me!! Expect him to arrive brother!!

And stay in his will by always staying thankful!! (1 Thess 5:18) I found the more thankful I became the faster I was rescued. I learned many lessons of myself as well as others, and you will to. The art of survival, you do what you must to live and press forward. The Lord understands even if others do not. You have my love in Jesus, and you sure have my prayers, and I can tell you this, Jesus hears me!!!!

I will do my best Dan to pray with and for you!! May every blessing always find you and find you most well in our Lord's service!!!(James 5:16-20) I found out brother it's not about where you are at present, it is all about what you do in the Lord with your presence!!! Help others, comfort those in need as best you can brother. Much Love in our Jesus, Mark

I'd recommend finding someone strong in the faith for several reasons, but especially the spiritual challenges. It sounds like you may benefit from some deliverance. Also, they can help you out financially from time to time as we all can - was there any way you'd be able to accept donations like with givesendgo?

I would also recommend understanding the real Gospel and to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Matthew 6:31-33
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

What is an example of seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?

Repentance
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Real repentance
Acts 8:18-23
When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money. “Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”

And baptism with that repentance
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 1:7
What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.

For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Believing in Jesus and confessing that He is Lord
Romans 10:8-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

Seeking Glory, Honor, and Immortality by doing good
Romans 2:7
To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

If you'd like someone to help you out with this and pray for deliverance, you can search through this website to see what they are about and search on their map to find someone on the same page as them concerning the scriptures near you to pray for you and, if you'd like, help you with being born of water and born of the Spirit if you have not been.

God bless.

May you find comfort in prayer and sooner than later be able to park your car and sleep in a safe apartment or move in with a good person who can spare a room. May your injury heal and may you be able to find the motivation to work again, even if part time at first, to meet positive people, to stay away from vices and angry people. If you have family or friends or a nearby church, may people be able to offer a helping hand, words of wisdom and encouragement, so you may soon be able to help others and be a testimony of recovery and faith. Amen.

Save, o Lord, and keep Your servant Dan. If he is still homeless, help him to find the opportunity to change his life for the better. Protect him from the evil spirits and help him to sanctify his life in order not to give to the demons the legal rights to own or torment his soul. Praise and thanks to You, Lord Jesus Christ, if he is doing much better now.

Oof. I can relate. Especially the spiritual warfare. I see your post was made in December 2022 and here we are in November 2024. I hope you are well. I pray that God will give you the connection you need to come out of that situation of bondage and hardship. Amen.
