It's interesting to me how many people say that to keep the Sabbath is one of the 613 covenant laws that Moses prescribed for his people and that it is an Old Testament command no longer to be kept by us New Covenant (Testament) Christians these days because Jesus abolished that law at the cross - Jesus is our rest. However, they say none of those things about the other 9 of the Ten Commandments that God wrote on His tablets of stone that He gave to Moses. A very interesting disconnect, in my opinion.
While I can't speak for everyone, it's not that I think that the Sabbath or any of God's Laws are wholly discontinued... they have been written upon my heart, as Scripture promises.

So, I don't think that we keep those laws in some religious manner of ritual and dogmatic necessity. Rather we obey from the core of our being. It's clear to me that Scripture points out that nobody can come anywhere close to keeping the laws of God... it's just not attainable. By accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior, God works in me to will and obey His will and helps me to surrender my own will. In this sanctification process, I grow more and more into the image of Christ. I live in the very real hope of one day being glorified but have no allusions that I will ever be close to that perfection while living in the flesh.

God reveals to His own that His laws are far more detailed than the mere written laws of Moses... the command to not commit adultery also means not even lusting in our hearts; and the command not to murder includes even railing at a person in anger; and the idea of loving all includes forgiving someone who sins against me 490 times! These things are impossible to do for me... without Christ living in me.

And just as God rested after He completed His work of Creation, I keep the Sabbath by resting in the completed work that Jesus did and continues in me to this day.

eau contraire....
I believe the 10 commandments were fulfilled in the two commandments Jesus gave us..... exactly the way HE said.... if you follow these two commandments, you will automatically be following (fulfilling) the 10.....

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and [u]foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”

No disconnect at all.

Your not under the law, so you are not under the ten commandments.

You are under the law of Christ, i.e. the new commandments that He gave under the new covenant.

Galatians 5:18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Here are the commandments that you are under now.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

YOU FORGOT SOMETHING:

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

John 15:16 (HCSB)
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

Romans 8:29-30 (ESV)
29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Nothing came from our will, it was all the LORD's WILL that we made the decisions that were pleasing to HIM. Humbling isn't it?

Nah, I'm not here to debate. I'll pray the Lord will give you understanding.
With all due respect to those who want to keep the Sabbath on the 7th day and do not want to participate in changing the 4 commandment to Sunday.

Our righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, how is this possible?

We are not justified by works of the law, but by faith in the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God.

But following Jesus, being his disciple and keeping his commandments goes much further than keeping the Sabbath. Jesus gave his life for us while we were still sinners -
and his call to us is: "follow me".
How do we do this?
We must let him teach us and we don't learn this in one day.
This is the school of discipleship we are called to attend with the Master himself as our teacher.

Keeping the Sabbath goes, as far as I understand, under the category of works of the law that we are no longer obligated to under the new covenant, where the commandments are to believe in Jesus the Messiah and to love as he commanded us.

To fullfill all the law

"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself". - Galatians 5:13-14 KJV

In our strength we fail. But by Christ's strength we can do all things.
By beholding Christ we become more and more like Him.

The flesh and the Spirit are waring for supremesy.

The law is spiritual.

Here is the context for your quotation below.

John 15:15
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Was this in support of what you wanted to Agree with my statement.
Or something you disagreed with. Not Sure what you meant.

How could I disagree, you quoted from John 15.

I merely posted some extra from John 15.

If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire.

Romans 13:8
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Galatians 5:14
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself.

James 2:8
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well.

1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters.
The one who does not love remains in death.

One word.

If Christ came to fulfill the Law to free us from keeping it, then why does He say that whoever Does and teaches the commands will be called Great in the kingdom? Matt 5:19

Also, the law came because of transgression. Gal 3:19 Transgression of what? Before the Law was given by YHWH there had to be a standard for there to be transgression.

And 1 John 3:4 states clearly that sin is the transgression of the Law.

The law is 613 commandments, as far as I understand, not only the 10 commandments.
So not to be a transgressor then we must observe them all and also surpass the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees.
Do you find this challenging? Or do you manage this well?
To me as a gentile believer I find it impossible under the circumstances I find myself in.
Is there no hope for me then?

We are promised that when we repent and truly believe, that YHVH writes His Laws in our heart and we will receive a helper (the Holy Spirit) that will lead us into all Truth.
I have experienced consternation and perplexity over the state I myself in at times but, as I seek the Father with all my heart He has guide me just as He promised. The just shall live by his faith.
Many people wrestle over this but, I have found that I have peace and freedom in staying upon my GOD and letting Him Guide me into Truth as I surrender to obey. His commandments are only grievous to the flesh in my experience.

I would also share that the 10 commandments are the only commands that YHVH wrote with His own finger in the stone and then was placed in the Ark of the Covenant.
Nations have thrived that have sought to uphold those commands that are written there.
Just somethings I have observed as I have pondered this subject...

Are we allowed to buy or sell on the sabbath?? Can we eat out on the sabbath??? Are we allowed to cook- prepare meals on sabbath??? Any help?
The Sabbath is part of the law of love.. under grace you can Remember to keep the Sabbath Holy.. which means separate. Can you keep the Sabbath under the New Testament.. yes, if you choose to. It is between you and GOD.
We have freedom in Christ to love as we are loved.

We can’t mix old and new wine.. We live in different geographical locations.. you can’t keep the Old Testament.. The law of Moses.

The Sabbath Commandment is no different to the other 9…. Yet, not everyone believes this.

Remember to keep it separate.. those that Love GOD keep His Commandments. Belief is the beginning of all Truth.

Keep my commandments?

Which commandments?

1 John 3:11-12
For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:12
No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

1 John 4:21
And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

If you don't love others, you do not know God.
