1 Corinthians 12:13 ESV
13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

Ephesians 4:5 ESV
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

In the Christian faith, you will see the word baptism debated predominately within these points,

1. The baptism of water
2. The baptism of the Holy Spirit
3. The baptism of fire

There are at least 7 different baptisms spoken of in scripture but only 3 are directly impactful to the reader.

The church debates if water baptism is needed for salvation. To be dunked or sprinkled. Infant baptism. Do we need to experience 1, 2, or all 3 of the baptisms. Can a Christian experience two spiritual baptisms, one of salvation and a separate type of Pentecost that enables the gifts.

It is fascinating to study the many different baptisms and the significance of each one but without going into detail I believe 1 Cor 12:13 and Ephesians 4:5 should end much debate.

Spiritually speaking we were baptized once through faith in Jesus Christ. This is salvational baptism and the one baptism that any Christian needs to fulfill the great commission.

2 Peter 1:3 ESV

3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,

By God's divine power, we have been granted all things pertaining to life and godliness for the Christian. No need to seek anything higher or some other experience.

op: The Baptism Of Salvation?
Concur, Yes, Under Grace Today, It Is Spiritual!

I believe "the baptism of fire" refers to judgment, so, my study of:
3 baptisms, Rightly Divided, Within God's Contexts:

(1) Prophecy/Covenants/Law for ISRAEL:

►►► The Twelve Were Sent to {water} baptize! ◄◄◄

The TWO Main (of 12) baptismS =

A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!":
(Matthew_3:5-6; Mark_1:4; Luke_3:3; John_1:31; Luke 7:29-30; Acts_10:37)
(Matthew_28:19; Mark_16:16; Acts_2:38, 22:16; Ezekiel_36:25)
+
B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for
power, signs And wonders!
(Isaiah_44:3; Matthew_3:11; Mark_1:8, 16:17-18;
Luke_24:49; Acts_2:17-18, 38, 8:15-17, 11:16)
Prophecy/Covenants/Law

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That DIFFER!” {online}:

(2) Mystery/GRACE! =

our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:

►►► Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?: ◄◄◄

Today: Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION,
Spiritually
Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!!
(Ephesians_4:5; Colossians_2:12; Galatians_3:27;
Romans_6:3-4; ►►► 1 Corinthians 12:13 KJB! ◄◄◄)
-----------------------------------------------------
Then, within His Context Of Grace/Mystery, we find the
"Washing Of Regeneration" Today, is not by water, But By
The Holy Spirit, As Confirmed By "What Saith The Scripture?":

a) not physical water, as that would be a "work of righteousness
that we ['man's operation' would] do," and Scripture Declares:

"...Not by works of righteousness which we have done..."
(Titus 3:5)

b) Along With "Circumcision [without hands] of the heart"
(Colossians 2:11), Sanctification, and Justification
(God's Spiritual OPERATION), we have:

“And such were some of you: but ye Are Washed, but ye Are
Sanctified, but ye Are Justified In The Name Of The Lord
Jesus, And By The Spirit Of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:11)
--------
Conclusion:

1) No Confusion is necessary When Scripture is Rightly Divided,
and kept (rule #3 BSR) in God's Context, as demonstrated above.

2) The ONE (Spiritual) Baptism Into The One Body, By The One Spirit
Definitely Vanquishes all of man's Confusion of water, Correct?

3) Mixing Up/Confusing These Two Different 'Contexts' Is Most Likely
Why God Gave
us This, eh?:

Rom 11:6
"And if By Grace, Then is it no more of works: Otherwise Grace
is no more Grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more Grace:
Otherwise work is no more work." Amen.

1 Cor 12:13 speaks of baptism BY the Spirit. The Holy Spirit decides where each one fits into the body. That is the gist of the section: we are one body. It's a work He completes and the outcome is not determined by anything we do. We may certainly agree with Him, but we cannot be, in the body of Christ, something the Holy Spirit does not allow us to be.

This is because power is needed to fulfill our calling (that is the baptism OF the Spirit). We are equipped according to our calling, just as any king would equip his representatives in their tasks. Often, we do not receive because we ask for an empowerment that does not fit our calling. The issue is, we do not and seminaries do not decide who we are in the House of God. If we know our place we would know what to ask for.

Are you suggesting that water baptism for believers is unnecessary? If so you are going into error. There are some Hyper-Dispensationalists who teach this nonsense.

By God's divine power, we have been granted all things pertaining to life and godliness for the Christian. No need to seek anything higher or some other experience.
Amen, NO so-called 'second blessing,' as upon belief, we already have:

Eph 1:3 Blessed be The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who hath blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ"
+
Just need His SON To Work In and Through us as we humbly submit:

Rom 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed
to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that Good, and Acceptable [*], and Perfect,
Will of God."
Because Of:

Rom 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith,...
...we have Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ"
+
Rom 5:2 "By Whom also we have ACCESS by faith Into This Grace
Wherein we stand, and rejoice in Hope of the Glory of God."
Thus Allowing, Christ In us, The Hope Of Glory (Col 1:27),
To Work Through us, to:

“Fulfill ALL Of His Law, In "ONE Word: LOVE thy neighbor
as thyself!" (Galatians 5:14; Romans 13:8-10)
Amen.

Grace, Peace, And JOY In Christ, And:

[* ] In His Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided (+ I and II)! [Acceptable?]

Scripture tells us to participate in the baptism of water. I'm saying the baptism of the Spirit is the means of salvation. Water is just H2O. Two different baptisms for different reasons. You can only have one spiritual baptism as scripture tells us we have one baptism. If you add both Spirit+water then you = two.

These statements are simply going to confuse people, so let's be very clear about this matter.

1. BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT = THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT = SALVATION

2, WATER BAPTISM IS NOT JUST H2O. IT IS A COMMANDMENT OF CHRIST AND HAS GREAT SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE.

3. WATER BAPTISM MUST IDEALLY FOLLOW SALVATION IMMEDIATELY (see the Book of Acts)

4. REJECTION OF WATER BAPTISM IS DISOBEDIENCE TO CHRIST.

So what's in the water then that saves you if it isn't just water?

It is a symbolic outward expression of faith for the individual and for others to identify the new convert.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit saves you. Water baptism should come afterwards at some point.

Water baptism did not transform me.

The baptism of the Spirit late one night in my truck brought me in salvation.

Some practice water baptism as legalistic. It must never take away the saving power of the Spirit.

And that is exactly what I said other than "at some point". I showed you that water baptism is immediately after salvation in Scripture.

My point is which one saves you? Scripture says we have one baptism.

Immediately is unrealistic if required to be saved. The thief on the cross did not have this chance. The airmen accepting Christ while dying from a plane crash did not have this chance. The woman accepting Christ in freeway traffic due to a worship song.

This is what I mean by legalistic.

Water has its place but should never be confused with salvation.

yeah it’s the hypergrace way of answering everything the Bible tells us to do and believe “ it’s not necassary “ is always the answer the great “ grace erase “

theres one baptism like there’s one God

“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

water of remission and spirit of life

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:5, 9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The blood of remission

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It doesn’t change ever from what jesus does he got baptized for remission of sins and received the holy spirit from heaven. That’s exactly what we are taught after wards

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The church baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins and Jesus sends the holy spirit to that person exactly like what happened with him

age rules are no different they also are commanded to be. A prized in water for remission of sins and they also receive the holy spirit from Jesus in heaven

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44, 46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When John said this

“I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he isn’t talking about a change in the doctrine , he’s foretelling this truth of Jesus baptizing believers with the holy spirit from his throne in heaven

“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:32-33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there’s just one baptism for the church to do it’s baptism for remission of sins and it holds a promise that Jesus will baptize you with the spirit

When Jesus said this just after he was baptized in water and received the spirit

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Water and spirit

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. ( water )

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:”( spirit )
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized ( water ) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”( spirit )
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. ( spirit )

Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. ( water ) Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44, 46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Like God is one so is baptism water spirit and blood is one baptism our only part is to baptize for remission on Jesus name he does the rest as far as giving us the Holy Ghost that’s a promise that comes with baptism

I agree that water baptism is an act of obedience but not an act of salvation. That is by faith alone.

John 3:5 just to clarify is talking about a human birth. The word used is gennáō – properly, beget (procreate a descendant), produce offspring; (passive) be born, "begotten."

John's baptism is not the same as Jesus with the Holy Spirit. Even Paul dealt with this,

Acts 19:1-7
New International Version

19 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”
“John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

"Baptism of the Holy Spirit saves you. Water baptism should come afterwards at some point. "

Ok now I under stand. Maybe for others try to see ask "why do you see it understand it like this"? "The baptism of the Spirit late one night in my truck brought me in salvation. " is what he said.

Salvation born from above/born again comes well John 3:16 Rom 10:9-10. A new man new spirit is created. Baptism of the Holy Spirit comes after. The Father said through Christ if anyone just asks Him He will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask. That is not salvation. Its not a promise to anyone but His Children. Now the way you see it.. well I won't touch its something so wonderful awesome .. praise GOD thanks for sharing.
