Well, to be a deacon the reqs are here:

and obviously you need to be ordained to the diaconate in order to receive the priestly ordination.
For me the main parts are to be a member of a parish for at least 5 years and be actively involved in the church, and also to have been married for at least 8 years. I've only been married close to 5 years, and I've only been attending my current parish for about 2 years. Not to mention that my wife isn't Catholic.
In all honesty, I don't think I'm called to be a priest, but still, I feel that I should prayerfully consider it at least before dismissing the idea completely since it is an available option to me. I do know that I will be working hard to ensure that my daughter and any future children of mine consider religious vocations to be very honourable ones. I would LOVE to see my daughter become a nun, or a future son become a priest.
