I don't know who he is, but it wouldn't be strange if he was. Allot of writer's came to Marburg to study i think also one of the brother's Grim was there.
William Tyndale translated the Bible into English, and he was ultimately publicly strangled before being burned at the stake.

Totally coincidentally, I just received a text message from someone who is currently in England, and she sent me the following two photos of a Tyndale statue there.

Welcome Dennis. So glad you came.

i need help in finding God and i have so much questions but not so much Christian people around me.
It gives me great joy to share the good news of life in Jesus with you.

First thing is to know is that Christianity is much more than just a religion. It is a real relationship. Jesus is knocking on your heart's door and waiting for you to open up and let Him in.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

Jesus has paid for your ticket and all you need to do is accept it. He wants you to be his child. Just say yes and trust Him to do the rest.

He loves you.

A good movie was made about Tyndale, and I saw it years ago. I'll provide you with 3 different links where you can watch it for free in case you're interested in seeing it. I'm sending you multiple links in case some of them don't work in your country.

If you are able to watch it, then I think that you'll come away with a greater appreciation of the Bible when you see what people had to endure to get it into our hands in our own languages.

Ah perfect! I was wondering what else to do instead of playing mind numbing video games, it will fit perfect after reading my Bible. Thank you i will be back tomorrow with an opinion about the movie.

Somehow i knew that the Roman Emp...i mean Catholic church was responsible for his death, i do have a bigger appreciation for the Bible and Tyndale too he was a man of great faith. Thanks for sharing this movie with me ,also the Fb page (timeless truth) where i watched the movie is a gold mine.

Hello again Denis (@Denis1011), here is another movie/documentary about the Bible itself. It's recent and very well-done, with stunning videography, and a cast of well-known theologians, pastors, linguists, historians and apologists. Here's the official trailer.

If you care to, you can watch the full-length movie for free at the AFA.net site right now here: The God Who Speaks (afa.net) (they are the ones who produced the movie .. oh, and you will need to sign in or login if you are already a member .. this is free as well, just FYI).

I think TUBI has it for free w/commercials, as does Amazon Prime, but the AFA site does not (have commercials, that is).

Enjoy!!

God bless you!

The good news is that Tyndale's labor wasn't in vain. The even better news is that he'll spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He had total faith in God and he knew that his sacrifice here on earth will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven. I will take you up on your offer one day i need all the help i can get. Thank you @notonmywatch

Yes, he apparently believed in "a better resurrection", even as he stated in the film in relation to certain saints who been martyred before him. Here is the verse of scripture that he was alluding to:

Hebrews 11

35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

I like watching movies or documentaries about saints who have gone before us because it helps to embolden me in my own walk of obedience with the Lord. Truly following Jesus could literally get us killed, so I try to keep myself mentally and spiritually prepared in case that is ever my own lot in life.

John Hus was another man who was burned at the stake due to his own walk of obedience with the Lord.

Here's a movie about him, if you're interested in watching it.

William Tynedale was such a beautiful saint and martyr ... all those homely turns of expressions in the KJ are his ...

Henry 8 chased him out of England for translating the bible into English. His prayer before being strangled was "Lord open the eyes of the King of England" Henry was a vain man but the English reformation started not long after Tynedale's death and by the end of Henry's reign every church had an english translation [largely Tynedale's work] on display and available for all and any to read.

I watched the movie yesterday and most of what you said was in there, the Catholic church really is the wolf in sheep's clothing. Thank God for people like Tyndale...literally
