Going on 132 hours of continued services. Some friends I know have been there and said there is a lovely Spirit of the Lord there.

I only pray that is more than emotionalism, more than being part of the hype, and if indeed there is true conversions then I pray if is not hijacked by false teachers itching to claim they prophecized it and a means to starting another false movement like the New Apostolic Reformation, the Word of Faith, the Prosperity Gospel, or Holiness movement.

I pray the fruit is legitimate, Biblical, and nationwide.

It could be because revival is defined by some differently. Some practice revivals all the time but the revival we are praying for is one like the great awakenings. We will not know the impact until years later. It is definitely inspiring and hopeful.

Looks pretty Good to me! This looks like just what the Church needs. An injection of continuous, praise, worship, and prayer.

The chapel service began last week and didn’t end on the regular scheduled time due to 30 students deciding to stay in the auditorium to seek God.
Those students never left and continued to sing and pray until the next day.
Since then, the church service has been ongoing non-stop.

I truly thought the pandemic was going to bring revival. I thought as people struggled more and more, they would look past themselves and human possibilities and look to God. I was surprised that people were so resigned to accepting conditions and not cry out for deliverance. I'm encouraged to see God at work.

According to IFA, there is more going on. I try not to get too hyped up about this stuff, as we Christians tend to get things blown out of proportion quickly. IFA keeps writing articles with "prophetic words" and such, but in my opinion at least, these are not prophecies. Too much was "prophesied" in 2020 that never materialized. And, I keep hearing about a revival in the sense of mass conversions and a rejuvenation of the church, but in hindsight, those things did not occur. In fact, things seem to have gotten worse, both within and with-out the church.

But, I am hoping that now the things we are seeing and that IFA is reporting are the beginnings of something. My God do we need it.

I can't comment because I don't know anything about Asbury University or the revival going on there. I don't really get excited about revivals though; oftentimes it's just an emotional experience that fizzles once the revival's over. But I do hope lives will be changed for the better as a result.

What do we know? It has been going on for a week? Do we see transformation? Is there a deeper knowledge of God through His word? Are people being delivered from sin?

I have been paying attention to this for several days, but so far have not learned anything about it.

With George Whitefield the revival lasted for about five years. Seems absurd to be calling something that hasn't lasted a week a revival. Also with Whitefield the revival was from the South all the way up the coast to New England, not one building in one city.

The Great Awakening lasted about fifty years and occurred in all parts of the US.

The third great awakening produced great Bible teachers like D.L. Moody, lasted for about 50 years and also resulted in believers getting involved in missionary work.

Obviously we hope for the best, but I would like to know more about it.

The pandemic did bring a revival of sorts in many places.
Many churches had large increases in new membership, and large increases in baptisms.
I think an increase in actual church membership and attendance is a very significant thing.

Many churches saw huge drops in attendance, membership and finances... other churches had large increases.

What word do we want to use for that?
Do we want to call it revival?
I don't know.
God moves... things happen... we can call it what we like.

Thanks for that information. Here I saw the latter half of what you described, but not the former, unfortunately.
And anywhere the church is truly added to God is certainly at work. But I think if something were developing nationally or internationally we would have heard.
But isolated stories of the grace of God coming to men and women is always welcome news to me. But, Oh, that God would pour out His Spirit anew and bring times of refreshing from His presence again.

If the pandemic, and lockdowns, and financial calamities were not enough HARDSHIP to soften people's hearts, and bring a full-blown national revival...
then what kind of hardship would be required?

These are not things I like to think about.

I can't honestly say, it's not far from me but people I know have gone. They have said that people are getting saved, people that have never attended church before. That to me is a good sign. Where it will land I do not know. A song a gospel group use to sing back in the day said,

We need a revival, from the pulpit to the pew. We need a revival that starts with me and you, that reaches out to a lost and hungry world. To bring them in.

Sounds about right to me.
