Walter, my friend, what think ye? seek the kingdom, or...:

"Who Hath Delivered us from the power of darkness, and Hath
Translated us INTO The Kingdom Of His Dear SON" (Colossians 1:13)

...are we not "Already In"? I believe Scriptures Are The Top Priority, and
God Has enabled us to study Them, According To 2 Timothy 2:15.

Grace, Peace, And JOY In Christ, And In His Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided
(+ I and II)! + RICH Blessings

When a person is born again, I believe the LORD enable them to hear, see and do things first seeking the kingdom/scriptures

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. KJV: King James Version

Love, Walter and Debbie
Walter, my friend, you are right on the mark.

In accordance with the teaching of our Lord, as recorded in John 3:1-10, no one is able to hear, perceive or understand the spiritual things of God, unless they have experienced the New Birth. In this being born from above, God regenerates the dead sinner and gives unto that one a new heart. The one being regenerated is "passive" in this event according to the Greek text. That one is being acted upon by the Spirit but has no part in it anymore than they had in their physical birth.

After Regeneration, that person has a hungering and thirsting for the Truth of God.

In my experience, I definitely had a part in it.

GOD revealed to me my sin (which up to that point, I had made excuses for, rather than confessing and repenting years earlier for) and I became aware that I had a choice.

I could make an excuse, like I was accustomed to doing, or I could take full responsibility, which I did.

I could see that GOD had been trying to bring me to this for a while in a gentler way, but because of the hardness and impenitence of my heart, I stored up wrath against myself, which I was experiencing at that moment in a very real and terrifying way.

I believe that it was GOD that broke me down to the point of humbling me to need a savior, but I had to respond.

That night I was stunned at how close I was to death. I had a very real sense that if I had made any excuse for myself that it was lights out, because I had been given so much light over the years, even as a young girl GOD was pursuing me and making Himself known to me in a real way.

So, I can agree that it is definitely initiated by GOD, start to finish, but we must not be passive, but respond.

I appreciate your response.

Your post shows the various things that you experienced in your life. Salvation, if you will, from your point of view and the things leading up to it. This is how every saved person sees their Salvation. From our point of view. It is only through study of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirits assistance does one come to understand the workings of this Salvation Plan.

We become aware, that in Adam's sin and subsequent fall, all of humanity became dead in trespasses and sins because we all fell in him. We were now under the curse of both "Physical Death" and we also died a "Spiritual Death". Mankind's communion with God had been shattered. Therefore, we no longer could understand spiritual things.

Rom 5:12 Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:--
1Co_2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

To resolve this issue and allow God to have a people for His own. The Father, from Eternity past, Elected some to Salvation and gave them to His dear Son to Redeem. This was done before anything was ever Created.

Eph 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ: (4) even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: (5) having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

We first experience our "physical birth" - sinners from the time we enter this world. The Elect will experience their "Second Birth" at God's appointed time. This is being Born Again or Born from above. This causes the natural person, who's spiritual understanding is dead, to be "Regenerated" unto spiritual life by the Sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:1-10).

I stated in the earlier post, that the recipient was "Passive" in this work because this is what the Greek Text says. All of the New Testament was originally penned in the Koine Greek and then translated into various languages. The verb tenses and voices of the Greek language are very important and none is more important than the "Perfect Tense". The "Perfect Tense" does not exist within the English language. The "Passive Voice", whether in the Greek or English, means the same thing, the recipient of the action of the verb takes no part in the verbs action. An example of this in the English would be: "I was BEATEN by my captures." You were receiving the beating but nothing you did or were doing was active in the beating.

In John 3:8, the area highlighted in Red, is the Greek verb for being born: γεγεννημένος. This verb is a "Perfect.Passive.Participle". Perfect = The action started somewhere in the past and the results continue into infinity. Passive = Recipient is not active in the action. Participle = well we don't need to go into that for this conversation.

John 3:8 The wind blows where it will, and you are hearing the sound thereof, but do not know from where it comes, and whither it goes: so is every one that is has been born of the Spirit.

The wind is of course, the Holy Spirit. Coming and going as He wills - doing the bidding of the Father and the Son, who sent Him. This "New Birth" is a secret work in the Heart of the recipient. No one knows exactly when this took place in their life but they do know, shortly thereafter, their attitude has changed towards the things of God. Also, the Words of God begin to make sense and they see things they have never been able to see before when reading Scripture. It is at this time that the Holy Spirit also indwells the recipient. The results of this, for the first time, this person begins to genuinely ponder the questions about a Savior and the Words of God direct this one towards the only true Savior.

From here on out, with the aid of the Spirit, we fall under the weight of our SINS and REPENT and ask for God's FORGIVNESS. Come to know TRULY who Jesus Christ is and lay hold of Him as our Savior and Lord. This is known as Conversion. God REGENERATED us and we respond with our personal CONVERSION. Regeneration takes place only once but our conversion goes on for a lifetime.

Just wanted to expand on my previous post. Take care.

they can not be born again UNTIL the thing that makes them dead is removed

the term for that process is called justification.

It is God who helps us understand the gospel.. Once we are born again, we are then free to understand the rest of Gods truths.

I think that part is already clearly understood. But Justification starts and ends with what God hath done.

Let me guess then, you are going for the - One must believe before they can be Born Anew...
It’s not me that says it. Jesus did

Whoever believes shall never die BUT HAS ETERNAL LIFE (born again)

If you want God to make people born again while still under the penalty of sin,. You will have to explain why God would ignore his perfect justice to do that..

The baby actually has to expend quite a bit of energy during the birth process.

And the analogy Jesus uses is correct not the passive view "poof" God regenerates a person.

You seem to be under some misunderstanding that ones "Justification" BEFORE GOD was dependent upon what one does. The Justification of the Elect is said to have been accomplished before the world began because Scripture says the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world and their names were already in the Lamb's book of Life. Justification BEFORE GOD was accomplished between the Father and the Son. Man had no part in that.

Once one becomes a believer, then that one comes to understand they are justified before God and have peace with God. The actual, legal, Justification took part long ago.

Stop trying to tell me what I believe. You just hurt yourself

I am understanding that Jesus gives his gift to those who desire it. Not based on what one does.

Faith is the work of God. Not the work of man.

But no one, and I mean no one is saved, unless they have faith

he who believes is not condemned. Those are jesus wrds

He did not say he who is born again so they can believe will live forever

His example shows it clearly/ As moses lifted up the serpent. So must the son of man be lifted up. THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES

go read the story.. The poeple were bitten. All of them suffered a death penalty. Because there was no cure.. They had to in faith look up to the serpent, those who did were healed by God. Those who did not died.

they did not save themselves because they looked up in faith.. All the faith and looking could not heal them f one sin. God is the one who healed.. ..

You completely missed the point.

We have no say so in our conception - it is decided for us. Therefore, our physical birth is not decided by us.

Why do you deny what our Lord Himself said. Why say you this? "He did not say he who is born again so they can believe will live forever"

Being born again so one can believe is the whole point of John 3:3-8.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The new birth is required to "see" the things of the kingdom.

John 3:4 Nicodemus says unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Without the new birth, one cannot enter into the kingdom. And most importantly, without the new birth, one cannot be spiritually alive.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Flesh cannot begat spirit and spirit does not begat flesh. To understand spiritual matters, one must first be born from above. Jesus acted shocked that Nicodemus did not understand this truth being a teacher of Israel.

My friend. John 3 destroyed calvinist thinking

Jesus did not say be born again SO you can believe

He said BELIEVE so you can be born again

Born of the spirit is born of faith. Faith comes by hearting and hearing by the word of God..

Flesh just means one is born in the flesh.. You do not have to be PHYSICALLY born again. You have to be SPIRIRUALLY born againb

he he told you how

He who BELIEVES is not condemned (born again)

he who does not believes is condemned already (left dead or in the flesh)
