That's right. The question was could Jesus have failed? Could Jesus have sinned?
The question of whether Jesus had a will that was "other" than the Father's came up a short time ago;
I believe someone created a thread asking that specific question. Many said, "No." Yet Jesus prayed in the
garden of Gethsemane,
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

I realize that does not really answer your question .. But the fact remains that Jesus submitted in all things.

Say you build a porch. Then you walk on it to 'test' whether it is built well.
Not so much as a creaking board, out of plumb rail or loose nail as far as the Lord Jesus was concerned......
Just 100% integrity, soundness and imperturbability all the way around.

God alone is immortal.

Our God is a Consuming Fire

Yes I am aware (finally!) of your view on the matter. I think you said you were some kind of annihilationist.
Of course I do not agree. But hopefully further Biblical light will clear the fog.

Annihilation is not the term the Bible uses. Many times we are told the wicked will be destroyed. They perish.
This is most often contrasted with life ever after being given only to those who by grace through faith believe
in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ, repeatedly given in a plethora of ways from the beginning of
Scriptures to the end, present even in the best known and possibly most well loved Scripture of all, John 3:16.

The reason they were there was to represent the water and the blood.
Elijah, the water, and Moses, the blood. They were standing along with Jesus as The Two Witnesses.Which are the covenants.
So on Mount Tabor you have the Spirit(Jesus) water(Elijah) and blood. (Moses)

The first shall be last, and the last first.
Moses(blood) was before Elijah.(water) Get it?

Matthew 17:5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Revelation 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Some people say "so and so are the Two Witnesses because they represent the Law and the Prophets"
At the end of that road it all leads to his covenants. His Two Witnesses. They were there at the transfiguration of Jesus. And will be there at the transfiguration of the 144,000.Who will give the testimony of The Two Witnesses. And those who hear, and believe will be transfigured.
Moses represents the law, and Elijah the prophets.

The Bible speaks of 2 beings standing before the LORD of all the Earth which they are probably Moses and Elijah for they are the 2 most important figures representing the law and prophets besides Jesus.

Which John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah, and born of woman there is not a greater than John the Baptist besides Jesus.

Which the Catholic Church gives reverence to Mary but John the Baptist is considered greater than her so where is his reverence.

It is obvious when the Roman Empire embraced Christianity that they did not get rid of their pagan and occult ways but held on to them, and it became their foundation for interpreting scriptures and pagans have a female deity so they have one.

Joseph Smith had a belief that was not part of the Bible and it became his foundation of the interpreting of scriptures the Mormon church.

Same as the seriously flawed churches, Scientology, Christian Science, which are probably forerunners to the new age movement that will eventually deceive the world to follow the New Age Christ and they will stop the preaching of the Gospel, and the belief in a God, on a world wide scale, and then God will end sin on Earth.

They are probably the 2 witnesses that will witness to Israel to turn them to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah.

That is probably why they were at the transfiguration because they are the 2 candlesticks that stand before the LORD of all the Earth.

Jesus rather famously taught on the mount that desire to sin is equivalent to carrying out that sin.

Paul reiterates it as a second witness - learn the word 'covet' it's spelled c o v e t
The Apostle Paul concurs with your assessment.....

Rom 7:7
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Wow. Little wonder we do not see eye to eye. Thanks for the heads up.
We agree on quite a bit, though. I'm pre-mill, pre-trib, literalist, futurist dispensationalist.

Then how could Jesus Christ have been tempted?

Nope. Nor can God be tempted. Jesus was tempted.
I already tipped you off with the Greek terms, and their legit meanings. I would urge you to proceed with that study.

I'm familiar with the Greek terms.

The fact remains: God cannot be tempted, Jesus Christ was tempted on all points like as we are.

Disagree. Jesus was "assayed" and yet without sin. Utterly imperturbable.

Jhn 14:30
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Psa 2:4
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus was "assayed" and yet without sin. Utterly imperturbable.
That's because he set aside his own will and did what God wanted him to do.

Jhn 14:30
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Psa 2:4
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Not sure why you posted them, but great scripture.
