Thankyou all for your wonderful advice, I've decided to leave this website, so sorry to leave such lovely people.

But I can not be in a place where a doctrin that says a Christian can forfeit there salvation is allowed and well supported and applauded.

And then such members are allowed to call people trolls. I hope they will change but im not sticking around to find out. I only hope the forums admin could ban this doctrin as they have with other doctrines. This really is my last post. Thanks for some of your wonderful guidance and support. I'm sorry I would have liked to form friendships with some of you. But I really can't stay here I'm utterly sickened and hurt.

I can only assume perhaps you have done kind things like support this site with donations, as to why your still here, or maybe the admin are being tolerant because of brainwashing going on from others to support your doctrin.

You accused me of having a long winded discussion about being saved or am I saved, when actually you have started long winded discussions about how you can unsave yourself, but not you because your 100 percent saved, I think that sums it up.

I asked you with all sincerity to explain this on how you became convinced you where 100 percent saved, your response was talk is cheap. Now your supportive friends are calling me a troll, and here you are to provoke me further.

I haven't mastered the art of deflection or argumentive insinuating garbage. But I guess if I stick around long enough I will.

I don't know what damage you've done to new believers but I only imagine that's its quite high.

I simply believe God is in control and Salvation belongs to Him . Salvation is not ours to give or take. So i agree with you . The OP was written ,to my understanding, in a cagey way so i stayed away from the thread. Cagey is not a good way to post.

Are you any closer to knowing if you're born again, or do you still require more long discussion on the matter?

I believe that being saved can also be referenced as being christened, or the men of the old t, whom Jesus went and preached to in Abrahams bosom where saved. But had not yet received salvation,

Can I be saved until i am born again.

Theres indication that I must believe in the father befor I can possibly truly believe in the son.

Jesus said to his decipels you have believed in the father now believe in me.

I am practicing Christianity, but I'm unsure I have received salvation. I was christened into the church of England and have always thought my faith or title was a Protestant,
Hey.. what should matter is not what any man or me says but what Gods word says. Not what I or any man tells you Gods word really says. You read John 3:16 Rom 10 9-10. Then read 1st John 4:3 "every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world."

So if you believe John 3:16 and have confess and believe in your heart He Yeshua/Jesus Christ came in the flesh died on the cross for the worlds sin was buried rose the 3rd day is seated at the right hand of the Father the only way to the Father then you are born from above born again. It is by grace through faith we are saved. One has to believe. Christ said we are blessed since we believe yet never seen.

Someone that say never sins thinking they are good enough to get in with out believing following Christ will not get in. He is the only way in. One must believe in trust in cling to Him. Yet there are so many that are blind never heard the truth Christ said if you were blind you would have no sin you say you see your sin remains.

This is NOT the OT days. The messiah came died rose AMEN so everyone on this planet to get in one must believe in Jesus Christ your my free choice. Not here to play games with always saved or you can lose your salvation. There are also those that in there last moment cry out to Him and its written anyone that calls on the name of the lord shall be saved.

I have done nothing wrong to you, and I do not intend to harm you.

Why have you been so clever with me.

I only have a conviction I can't take my salvation for granted.
I guess this could be hard for you to understand, as you believe your 100 percent saved.

However when I asked you the first time you didn't answer me if that ment you know your born again.
This was when we very first spoke right at the beginning.

I have conviction God loves me and cares for me. I feel loved By God. I feel happy I've beat temptation today.
But not because I have accomplished this by myself but because God has renewed my mind.
God has convinced me today the temptation is not of my own desire.

But because now I feel loved and saved by God again and once again reassured can I take my reward of heaven for granted.
Well I would love to say right at this moment I'm going to heaven.

Also Christian as always been a word that means kind and giving to me.
But if it means a follower of Christ then I'm going to call my self a Christian.

ok I suppose you need more clarity.

Christian definition in the Oxford dictionary means somebody who is practicing Christianity.

Or somebody who has had a Christian baptism.

But as far as I'm aware a Christian baptism is different to a holy spirit baptism by fire.

To practice Christianity to me as always ment to practice the fruits of the spirit.

I hope this helps you with my confusion.

Some more clarity

Luke 3:16

New International Version
John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

If I'm understanding this scripture correctly to born again is to be baptised by fire.

Why I'm struggling to answer the joining profile of when where your saved.

What happens when your baptised by fire.

1 Peter 3:21b...In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water.
22 And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Water removes dirt from the body, but a (consuming fire) removes dirt even from your conscience.

in the context of Luke 3:16 you mean. The water baptism is the start of repentance, then the holy spirit comes and clears your conscience.

Something like the prodigal son who "came to himself" and remembered his father's goodness (repentance) and his father saw him afar off and ran to him and embraced him, hugged his neck, that is, immersed him in his love (fire baptism).

Hello Fundamental,

It looks like you already have 5 pages of opinions and many who have answers. I'll just leave you with two brief videos that go into this topic in enough details.
I agree that we must believe in the Father and the Son. Like you, I am Trinitarian. That's a fundamental truth throughout Scripture.
Just ask if you have any questions. This is a very important topic.....the most important thing that anyone can know.

What must I do to be saved?

No, I have read nothing to indicate he "left the church"..... Everything I've read indicates that he was one of the most beloved preachers in all of England, possibly the English speaking world.
It is said that more than 60,000 people attended his funeral, IIRC.
Yeah, it's fact.
I have always found it interesting how much he is Quoted by so many in the church, the one he walked away from. The Church got too liberal for him...so he simply left.

I've tried to Read some of his stuff.
He could write 1000 pages on a subject Jesus taught, with understanding, in a single passage. I've found those who use a lot of words, for a subject which requires few, need those words to hide their ignorance on the subject.
