And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only begotten Son of the true and living God, be magnified.
The Lord Jesus comes soon.

The works of Adonai against Hasatan, after He did fast for 40 days and 40 nights, and the sermons to our elders - when He came to gather the lost sheep, are those references - the Word - become flesh.

Blessed be the Lord. Amen.

Be well.

with regard to prayer:

Adonai:
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Great is the Lord.
Be Well.

I find a good dose of perspective usually takes the sting out. The world can only bring pressure from the things of the world. If you don't care about all that, you don't feel a lot of pressure.

All the things satan can bring to turn up the pressure involve threat of losing - losing money, losing health, losing peer approval, losing all the things of this world. But if you keep in mind all those things will be lost anyway, it's a lot easier to focus on the things you won't lose when you die.

Pressure don't mean much when you ain't in the pressure cooker.

Adonai:
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

why does any counsel regarding "things you won't lose when you die." when death is not the only outcome,
The Lord has not spoken to me saying, "Ye shall surely die."

The Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob hath spoken to me from the cloud - after calling my name - saying, "Bear fruit unto righteousness."

That is the truth.

Whatever I bear in the furnace of affliction is not unto my destruction, but unto edification.

The Lord my God has spoken of my deliverence unto Israel, the land promised to my forefathers.
And it is there that many of my people - Israel - shall have there eyes opened. And Adonai has spoken of how we shall cry for Him as one cries for an only son; for when He came, many of us did denounce Him. But we shall know in that day that He is the Messiah.

The pressure? There is pressure when one loves all - and understands that the loss of life will be great. The pressure is this:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

who does not lament at length at the thought of the destruction that must come?

Whatever proof you have that the Lord has spoken otherwise - please share.

Howdy Yaacov and welcome to the forum.

Um... I'm not quite sure what you are going on about. It's hard to sort out the statements and questions from all the florid prose in between.

But the Bible does say it is appointed unto a man once to die.

That's not even what we're talking about in this thread. This thread is about pressure the world brings against you. The pressure you're talking about is a different pressure from a different source, and not relevant to this discussion.

the Bible?

The Lord Jesus of Nazareth doth now have the keys to hell and death; behold, the Lord our God hath spoken to a sister - to her face - to edify us, saying, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

It is established in the heavens of heavens, the highest court, that some of us must drink of the cup which Adonai did drink of (martydom). But there are those who shall surely come to perfection (and what has been spoken to the sister applies to the established number of those ones).

Was not beloved Elijah a sign of this same victory over death, beloved?
Did not Adonai speak to us regarding John the Baptist - that he came in the spirit of Elijah?
So we know that through faith, death is unnecessary. But we MUST believe.

With regard to Hasatan - perhaps you do not understand the manner in which I am presenting the substance that is directly applicable to the discussion. If it seem convoluted, any reference to what has been shared can easily be discussed - unto clarity.

Peace & Love to all sincere.

Beloved,
If you examine the first posting - a direct response to your own words:

What do you do when the enemy of your soul turns up the pressure. You’re under increase oppression, heat and pressure from Satan, so what do you do in such instances?

The scriptures that describe explicitly Hasatan with 'increase oppression, heat and pressure' directly in the face of our Beloved Everlasting Father and Wonderful Counselor - Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only begotten Son of the true and living God, is what I shared (Word for Word). And in that report, we SEE Adonai wearing the full armour and wielding the sword of righteousness with exceeding skill - His Majesty unleashed HaTorah (the Law of Life) in complete and utter perfection and did dispel the Enemy.

So what do I do when the Enemy of my soul turns up the pressure? When I am under increased oppression, heat and pressure from Hasatan? Precisely what Aba did when He experienced the same. Without strange intent, that was the meaning, beloved. Truly.

The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only begotten Son of the true and living God, be magnified.
The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth comes quickly - to judge the quick and the dead. Amen.

Perhaps Adonai will let this be my final explanation to share regarding this matter (for I assure you, I did proceed as the Spirit guided me):
Beloved, your prompting unto us - you brethren and sistren - was this:

What do you do when the enemy of your soul turns up the pressure. You’re under increase oppression, heat and pressure from Satan, so what do you do in such instances?
Share your success stories. 🙂

I immediately (upon reading, and a short moment - to contemplate and yearn for guidance) did share the report of Aba's battle against 'the Accuser'.
And what of our own success stories might any of us share?
For it is written:

Mighty is Your arm; strong is Your hand. Your right hand is exalted.

and:

Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

And therefore we know - without a shadow of doubt - that these words are faithful and true:

for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.

Beloved, the victory (success) IS the Lord's. Amen.

We know that humility comes before honor;
And faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Are you aware of who you entertain in this discussion? In that - so too, the glory IS the Lord's.

Be exceedingly well.

Beloved,
if thou canst not understand the words spoken, what manner of judgement is this:

I have heard of this before: A diarrhea of words with a constipation of ideas.

is it not written:
Adonai:
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

If then ye rquire an interpreter, why sayest thou "...diarrhea of words with a constipation of ideas."

The Lord Jesus of Nazareth, the only begotten Son of the true and living God, be magnified.

Wot ye well, I can verily parse what thou sayest. Marry, methinks I could do far better in such dialect than even thyself.

But can't nobody understand me when I talk like that.

There have been a couple of times in my life when even prayer appeared impossible and empty. At those time I began repeating The Lords Prayer, mechanically and absent any real feeling or authenticity. Each time after a couple of repetitions the spirit slowly returned back to me and I began to recover my sensibilities. I had nothing else, but My Friend appeared to honor those words.

it is highly important to know what mood you are in which frames your reaction to temptation. 1st, place yourself in the proper mood. for me, it's comedy. why? because laughing, jokes & anything of the sort is perennially, a cheerful mood. so, at time of temptation & after, i'm in that mood. i laugh at the devil & say, "devil, you and all your about, get out"!!! (in the name of Jesus, by course). when he keeps coming back, & he will, i just repeat it & soon enough, he's gone. constantly embed in your head a new conditioning that dominates temptation. with your own assistance & Jesus' help, you'll get there. add verses also, to the issue. 1st peter 5:7, Romans 6:12, 2nd Corinthians 5:17, 1st Corinthians 10:13. think about it, if you are in a somber dull mood of any sort, your likely to remain "in" the problem instead of "thru" the problem!!!

Psalms 8:2
