It has some bearing. If something like that is true it would another factor for Christian parents to consider.

Gay week isn't promoted by the parks, but was forced on them by a gay activists group partly because it is a vacation destination for families. The company itself, to the best of my knowledge (I frequently visit the website), doesn't actually promote the weekend. If I had to hazard a guess I would say it is largely dreaded among those who run the parks for practical/economical reasons.

I'm not saying the company is without crimes. Beautiful and talented young women are routinely turned into strumpets by this crowd. They promote causes that propagate a liberal worldview, mostly environmental. Their stooge company, ABC, has had homosexual "missteps" as it were, and routinely scares the elderly during their sham of a news program. Nothing exceedingly worse than other media outlets.

That said, I really don't think Walt would have endorsed it all based on the subject matter his art. The man was intensely patriotic, loved the nuclear family, and was motivated to endorse those that believed in the principles that freed him to create as he did. If there is a conspiracy, I would say it is the present company's decision to keep this on the DL. They know they cannot cover up things like his support of Ike, Goldwater, and Reagan. Too many people know. But what they can do is bastardize the image to save the wider liberal agenda. Create a Walt for all seasons that never existed. Hence the wild, incoherent, and contradictory rumors they hesitate to swat down.

Wow, normally I'm not one for the multi-paragraph swat down. Guess I'm a bigger fan than I thought.
 
you cant boycott everthing that has questionable marals... there would be nothing left to buy

Well, I guess this is where I respond in a way saying....i know h on, its ok, i had a feeling you needed to pour your heart out and I gave you the opportunity to do that.

At least that is what some people say to me when they come up with a comeback. ;)

And Walt did love family, and even talking about the gay part of it....is someone really SUPPORTING homosexuality or degrading women bc Ariel wears a bikini top? I dont think so.
 
You can use what you may not agree with in disney to teach your children. Like teach them that hard work is more profitable than sitting around waiting for a guy to rescue you. Teach them that not only do the guys like the princesses because they are beautiful, but most importantly they are kind.
For example in Pocahontas you can let your child watch it, but use it as a time to teach them that it's not good to worship nature. :D
 
Disney is an interesting subject.
I personally don't mind Disney. I’ve been to Disney World a few times. In fact, my parents are bringing my husband, daughter, brother, sister in law, and myself to Disney over Christmas break. The park is clean and the rides are amazing.

When it comes to the movies I haven't had too many problems with many. However, still to this day, I can't watch Fantasia and Alice in Wonderland without getting an extremely dark feeling. I hated them as a child and I hate them still.

As for the subject of the movies placing girls in questionable roles.... I think it’s fair to remember the time these movies were made. The woman being saved by a prince was a part of our culture. Disney didn't come up with the idea, we did. The older movies were made in a time where the majority of women were homemakers and not much else.

Recently, Disney has put woman as the role of the hero. For example: Mulan and The Princess and the Frog. (Princess and the Frog is a little creepy because of the voodoo, but remember the movie depicts voodoo as bad.) As for Mulan, yes there are other "gods" in the movie, but there are other "gods" in real life. You can take that as an opportunity to talk to your children about different cultures, their beliefs, and why you believe in Christ.

EXACTLY! That is what my mom used Mulan for back in the day.

I think the key here is this, yes children (usually not knowing God) we watched these movies. They were magnificent stories about good vs evil. Fairy Godmothers, talking animals, magical transformations... and they taught us "good morals". What not to do, what we should do as seen by the "world"

Do you agree now as a Christian that magic is against God? Are you tolerating it? Kids today see these things, as small as they are and learn to accept it. When Disney then transitions them into the Disney Channel and push their agenda there, will you be ok with it? In every way, shape, or form magic is against God. We do not accept or tolerate it. When we watch something about magic, we personally see it as entertainment, but since we do not rebuke it for what it is, it sill is something we come to tolerate in our lives. Why as Christians would we allow our children to watch something that at the very core is not pleasing to God? Even allegories of Christianity should be given in a way that is pleasing to Him. Remember, the toleration of evil is still sin.

We are called to step away from this world, not embrace it. As we learn what is pleasing and displeasing to God we learn to cut things out of our lives and live a life more suitable and pleasing to Him. Fathers need to also teach their children the ways of the Lord as is stated in Ephesians and guide them on the narrow path.

True except that disney has had a history of being at best racially insensitive especially in the the early-mid 20th century.
 
The only other good thing associated with Disney is the Epic Mickey game on the wii. It was developed by the same guy who did Deus Ex

IF you are referring to Walt Disney falling in love and getting married, then I guess you havent heard about him actuallly being a homosexual and how Disney supports that lifestyle.

Honestly, I wouldn't believe any of the sorts unless you had legit proof of Walt saying that.
Like a recording, interview, etc.
And for the record, people can support homosexuals without being homosexual themselves :)
Maybe Disney is trying to promote equality and understanding characteristics?
