I didn't say that you can't confess Christ apart from being baptized. I said that baptism is indeed a confession of Christ before men...even to the uttermost, no turning back.

If you confess Him with your mouth only, you can deny Him later with your mouth and you will lose what you gained in confessing Him.

But if you confess Him in baptism, the only way you can lose your salvation is if you are baptized again in another name.
lol

this just destroys your whole argument

It says you are being baptized to be saved. and through that work is your eternal security.,

My hope is in CHrist and his promise of eternal life given to all who BELIEVE. (john 3)

Because if not, I don't see how you can believe that Acts 2:38-39 doesn't teach baptismal regeneration.
Nothing in the New Testament teaches baptismal regeneration. That is a false doctrine of the Catholic church and some other fringe groups. Baptism is external. Therefore water can neither wash away sins nor regenerate anyone. You have been persisting in your false beliefs regardless of how they have been refuted. So it s clear that you do not really understand the Gospel.

Right. And I don't believe that it does. Therefore the English is reliable.
well actually it does in acts 2: 38
repent is second person plural - in other words peter is speaking to everyone

be baptized is third person singular. so peter is not talking to everyone.

so this in itself is enough to show an error in the english text

You reject the rendering of the kjv then...
The kjv is a translation..

and actually the origional KJV said repent YE and let every one of YOU which was more accurate than the modern english version. yet still in error

It has always been my contention that those who do that are heaping to themselves teachers, in the translators of other versions, to tell them what their itching ears want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3).
which is exactly what you are doing

It does.

Remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost are promised as the result of receiving the ordinance.
Nope

Gift of the HS is the result of repenting

remission og sin is the reason to be baptised (you already recieved this remission. proven by the fact you recieved the spirit

The Spirit is promised as the result of receiving baptism, read it correctly.
wrong

Because I think that you have an unwarranted bias because of the fact that, either you have not been baptized according to Acts 2:38 yourself but want to believe that you are saved; or else you have been baptized and want to believe that loved ones are saved apart from baptism in Jesus' Name.
Actually y7ou want water baptism to replace spirit baptism so you can save yourself so badly. you refuse to study acts 2: 32 to see what it really says.

If it does in fact mean "baptism", then you, in saying that it does not, are attempting to discourage people from doing what would in fact save them; and you will be held accountable by God for that.
If Jesus meant baptiosm, why did he not call it baptism

the word baptism in the greek does not mean water.. Water is one of the many things in which one can be baptized into. But it is not the meaning

Again, your interpreting the word to fit your belief, not your belief to fit the word

So, are you saying that the only ones who have the unadulterated word, whole counsel of God, are those who have a working knowledge of the Greek language?

I would say that that settles in for a cult mentality; in which those who have a working knowledge of the Greek become the cult-leaders since they are the only ones who know what the Bible really says.
it does not take a brain surgeon to look up greek words and get the defenitions

the rules of language are prety much the same in any language, only in the greek, it is much more deep and precise

Right.

Because baptism is not a work.

He definitely said that "remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost" (salvation) would be the result of repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Is it your contention that "remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost" isn't salvation?

Because if not, I don't see how you can believe that Acts 2:38-39 doesn't teach baptismal regeneration.
yes it is.

lol. You are hard headed my friend. You do not know what the greek word baptizo means, nor what a work is..

You work for a reward. or a wage

if your working for salvation, you are working

Salvation is a gift. NO WORK is required. period.

Everything I preach, I have gotten from reading my Bible.

And I do not hate Jesus...He is my Lord and my Saviour.

And since, in 715 posts, no one has been able to refute my contentions with scripture, how am I resisting the Holy Spirit in not changing my point of view?

I could see it if there was scripture to contradict my point of view...
yet you take his spiritual baptism, and turn it into a lie. and replace it with a physical baptism;

don;t say you love christ when you reject his baptism

John 3:16...those who believe "should not perish"...iffy.

Mark 16:16...those who believe and are baptized "shall be saved"...a more absolute promise

show me the word baptise in vs 5. if you can not. then you prove you can not prove your point.
I will only say that there is a good possibility that "water" in John 3:5 is speaking of baptism.

And if it is, then in teaching that it doesn't, you are deterring people from doing what might save them...

And God is going to hold you accountable for that; except ye repent.

in John 3, Jesus says they are saved

In mark 16, He says they will be saved.

Mark 16 contradicts John 3. That is why6 many reject it is part of scripture. Not to mention what is put in after..

Romans 6:1-4 teaches us that if we are baptized we will "walk in newness of life"; and 1 Peter 3:20-21 tells us that "baptism doth also now save us".

What part of these things don't you understand?
