Hello and blessings to all. As a person very recently saved, I have gone through a period of quite wonderful blessings (I have received opportunities I am certain I would not have received without the guidance of the spirit), but I also feel drawn to a person who I understand does not have faith, and I feel quite torn as I care about them deeply. We have agreed to no longer be friends (and I appreciate them confirming that and removing doubt). A penny for your thoughts, and may you have a blessed day.

Why did you decide to not be friends?

My thoughts (while knowing only what you posted) are that it could be a test. You could turn away and never look back, unless there are other factors you haven't mentioned.

Welcome to CC.
Becoming a Christian may result in people choosing not to associate with you because they prefer their sin, and it may result in you choosing not to associate with certain others because they are a bad influence. What you describe doesn’t seem to fit either case. We are called to bear witness to the truth of the gospel to those who don’t believe. It’s difficult to do so if we don’t interact with unbelievers.

I'm very happy to hear you got saved and I'd like to offer my thoughts, but what are we talking about? You refer to "this person" and "them." Is it a woman and someone you're attracted to? Is it a drinking buddy or someone like that who you don't feel comfortable being around. You need to be more specific about your situation if you want good advice.

A Spirit Filled Christian will more likely share the truth as guided by Holy spirit, who is promised to guide us in all truth.
Not all here are such, so please be careful, friend.

The Lord will tell you if you need to stop a relationship. He has a way of doing that. Sometimes its a minister that mentions something in a sermon and sometimes after prayer He might whisper something to your heart.

Many things change after we are saved. That often includes relationships. We also enter the realm where spiritual warfare goes on. Satan cannot stop people being saved, but he can try to hinder our walk after we are saved. One of his most effective tactics is to draw us into bad relationships. By this I mean a relationship where one party is unsaved. My daughter confesses Jesus, but is married to an unbeliever. She values the relationship more highly than her supposed faith. Somewhere along the line, she decided that her love for the man is more important than her relationship with God. It is a tragedy in my eyes, but I have no say in the matter.

God has something in store that is far better than you can imagine. God's will is perfect. His timing is also perfect. It often does not suit us, but God knows what we do not know and sees what we do not see. Better to wait for God's best than to suffer because of impatience.

Welcome….fellow Australian, we must be neighbours!

…..walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:1 KJV

2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Matthew 10:34-39 KJV
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
[38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. [39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
