Grace911 said: The covenant was not the problem. The people were the problem

Did you read the link?
It makes that point and many more.
No I didn't read the link. I read my Bible and yes there are many more points I would say, but since many Christians need to be spoonfed because if they eat real meat, they gag and convulse and fuss "not so" that is not what my church teaches.

I also find it not easy to keep the Sabbath .Last week I decided I will do a lot of work on the Friday so I am
fully tired and need the rest on the Sabbath, also you can go out for a walk, socialising with other people,
probably better like minded. I also sleep that day, it is a time for rest. Yes, I will also welcome other ideas.
Exodus 16: 29 Understand that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day He will give
you bread for two days. On the seventh day, everyone must stay where he is; no one may leave his place.

On day 1 thru 6, they collected "manna". On day 7 there is to be no collection of the "manna". There is no need to go out, because on day 6 they collected double so that they could rest on day 7.

An understanding of the Torah renders commonsense.

Deuteronomy 23:12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

That is not about visiting and strolling about for recreation, but for a specific purpose (sanitation/hygiene).

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Exactly. "Doing thine own ways/pleasure" on the Sabbath, such as visiting and recreational walks, is not allowed.

Note: The Jewish Rabbis have an additional book (started out as oral Torah) called the Talmud. The LORD/YHWH said do not add or diminish. Now, having said that, they believe that on the Sabbath walking is the only mode of transportation allowed. Roller skates, scooters, skate boards, elevators, bicycles, and all motorized bikes, and vehicles. So Magenta, do you follow Talmud? Do you have a heart's desire to show God your love by your works? Works are not for salvation, but is the fruit of our salvation.

Jesus said in Mark 3:4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

1John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Matthew_19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Not buying the belief that you cannot keep the commandments or that it is too limited or too hard or a burden.

Rom_8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

1John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Keeping in mind.

“And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

general suggested guidelines on Sabbath-

Church service isn’t necessarily what it means to “keep the sabbath.” It may be a part but not the rule.
Keep sabbath for rest . If evening comes Sunday and I don’t feel restored I probably haven’t kept the sabbath.
Sabbath can be experienced by what gives you rest and restoration.
-1mile or 20 min walk a day. Just to walking leisurely in prayer even

Sabbath activity - outdoor noises, worship songs mixed with prayer, the Word and More prayer ,giving everyone and everything to God. Consecrating - body, soul, spirit , mind, thoughts, heart, emotions, will, sleeping, dreaming, all that is within your being to Gods Cleansing blood of Jesus to wash all things .

It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
—Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.
It so happened that I've recently read an article about the difference between Presbyterians and Roman Catholics. It was an overview that explained how these two Christian churches differ from one another and what makes them unique.

Speaking about Sunday, both denominations say that Christians should worship exactly on this day.

And talking about only Presbyterians, John Calvin's direction for the celebration of Holy Communion was every Lord's Day (Sunday). During the time of the Puritan influence upon some Presbyterians, worship and the celebration of the Eucharist became lessened to once per quarter. This has changed in most mainline Presbyterian denominational churches and the celebration of Communion ranges from once a quarter to once a month to every Sunday or Lord's Day Service.

So, I don't think anything will be changed, at least in the nearest future.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Considering what they were told I think they were being very forthright, the leaders said not to preach in His name but they had received their orders.

Acts 5:27:
And they bring them and set them in the council. And the high priest asked them,
Acts 5:28:
saying, We strictly enjoined you not to teach in this name: and lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and purpose to bring upon us the blood of this man.

Mark 16:15:
And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the glad tidings to all the creation.
