It can even be worse when it comes to relationships...

However, under no circumstances should the 'worldly-wise' be forced to stay with 'their own kind'. It all depends on what each person needs/wants/dreams of. In my case, I felt it was best to cut off the relationship because what I had to offer didn't coincide with her dreams, wants, and wishes. Case in point...if I was interested in someone who was a former prostitute or drug abuser it wouldn't bother me, because having a spouse with a squeaky-clean background is not on my 'wish list'. If I was interested in someone who needed/wanted a lot of money and possessions, then yes, that would be a problem, because 'simple living' IS on my wish list.

Another example...perhaps there is someone we shall call...Hullianna. Perhaps Hullianna has seen and/or experienced things in life that would put her in the 'jaded' camp, while she's interested in dating Mr Clean. (cause she's got a thing for bald guys) If Mr Clean has stated that he wants someone 'cleaner' than him, than perhaps he needs to pursue the Pine Sol Lady. If it's not important to him, then Miss Jaded might be a good choice. Note, this hypothetical scenario can be reversed if Miss Hullianna decides that she would rather go for Charlie Sheen...

Does he get to watch from the sidelines or should he admit to himself that he might actually have feelings for the pine-sol lady?

Once upon a time a Pinesol lady married a CharlieUsed2B. It was beyond great. But now that she's older and a Hullianna, she just wonders if it works differently when the shoe's on the other gender. If you wear a high heel on one foot and a wingtip on the other, you walk funny...

Maybe the Charlies and the Hulliannas just need to put their cards on the table and let the Pinesol ladies and Mr Cleans decide for themselves. Maybe the Charlies and Hulliannas underestimate the Pinesol ladies and Mr Cleans or don't trust them.

And maybe we've created more categories than God ever intended. Something tells me that He doesn't have as many as we do.

That is the only statement that made sense to me (and that I think was not a morse code message), and I think you are so right. Do you really think God is over thinking this is much as we are? No.

I didn't know dating was so complicated till this board and now I'm left wondering why I am not over thinking it.

I would tend to think that Charlie Sheen would have to fall for someone truly evil...like a Kardashian.

To be brutally honest here, Hullianna is spending too much time beating herself up, plain and simple. It's okay when she was Miss Clean married to Charlie Sheen, but now that she's looking at Mr Clean and she's thinking of all of the moldy and undusted skeletons in her closet that it's not okay for her to like him? If Mr Clean has stated emphatically that he will only marry Miss Clean, that's one thing. But if not, it's his decision. Don't let Hullianna decide for him.

Hullianna absolutely needs to put her nasty, filthy cards on the table. Mr Clean can do a wonderful job of making disgusting messes into sparkling cleanness if he's allowed...and he invites Brawny Man over to help.

Perhaps they could learn a lot from each other and there would be some sort of balance there that could only happen with two such people.
Maybe the more innocent-minded one sees something in the jaded one that the jaded one needs to be reminded of and realize is there...and perhaps the jaded one can teach the more innocent-minded one a thing or three.

OR perhaps my decoder ring is malfunctioning and I'm getting the wrong message.

Might be a good place to mention that jadedness doesn't always come from dirty laundry and skeletons. Doesn't even come from situations of our own making at times. It can come from seeing things you can't unsee and feeling things you can't unfeel. If there are other cops/ex-cops/maybe even a few vets around, you know what I'm talkin about..

I am of the "jaded" camp..
I confess that laying my dirty nasty cards on the table before Mr Clean would be really humiliating. It is far easier with someone that has messed up just as badly.
On the other hand I may learn that Mr Clean isn't so clean after all.
Or maybe I might learn more about what is really important.
I frankly thin the fear of rejection would keep me from ever even getting that close to Mr Clean.
There it is...
