Oh no, sorry I can't turn this innocent pizza and Heaven Thread into a Scriptural joustMat_6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Hey, that's a good thing, I'll take itPraying over McDonald's food will turn you into a prayer warrior.
This thread has been a fun read and has me thinking...
I've known some people who can't picture their lives without eating meat.
I have to admit that although I could probably live as a vegetarian if I had to, pepperoni is one of my favorite pizza toppings.
Since I assume we will no longer kill or eat animals in heaven, I wonder if there will be trees or plants that bear fruits and vegetables designed to taste like the meat so many people have enjoyed while on this earth?
Just imagine... a real-live pepperoni, hamburger, or fried chicken tree!![]()
God only ever endorsed a vegan diet when Adam and Eve were in a perfect world. After they broke the world with sin, God sent them away from Eden and modified their menu to include animals.Becky's initial observation, about there being no death nor pain in heaven, got me thinking too. Right off, the jewish observance of "humane" slaughter came to mind. They must kill the animals swiftly so that there is no, or at least where there is the most minimal, suffering. And then I thought of God directing peter to "kill and eat," and I noticed the difference in the original language that distinguishes that from murder, or "homicide" which is relevant only to humans. And then I began to wonder about the old debate, do animals have souls... but I'm not sure I really want to know that answer... I mean, I'm not sure I'm ready to know that...
There is a verse in scripture that ponders whether the spirit of an animal goes up or down but, is it ever a "living soul" like Adam?
Maybe they are only another form of the fruit of the earth, just extremely animated?
I under stand, we had every one make there own, pizza, so if you had 5 people you would have 5 different pizzas. and every one would try each others pizzas. fun and mmmmmmmmm God bless AmericaWe always stayed home on new years. Wanting to give the kids something fun we made pizza. Sausage, peperoni , salami bell peppers, onions, black olives, mushrooms different cheeses they were loaded . Been a long time ago now it was fun .
There is a good possibility that there will be double pepperoni pizza in heaven. I feel certain that there will be hamburgers in heaven. It just wouldn't be heaven without hamburgers.
Maybe animals also wish they were back in Eden, where they didn't have to hunt and be hunted.![]()
There will be lots of berries, other fruits, nuts, cheeses, and veggies that can be eaten raw. I doubt there will be meat in Heaven as there would be death and pain. I can't see why there wouldn't be pizza like garden veggie pizza.
Oh believe me, that verse is well known. We see it a lot around here. It crops up in the most abstruse contexts.Here's a little known scripture about false teachers and abstaining from eating meat:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
(1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV)
