oh yes Im very sure of my salvation. because, it more than just repenting, its about having a relationship with God, walking in spirit and truth, Jesus came to save the world, not to comedon it, Jesus loves the sinners the not perfect people. we must study the word, and be doers of the the word, threw, faith in God, for we are over comers. we are over comers by the blood of the lamb.

"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"

I John 5:5

I kept forgetting to ask you about this (in bold type).

1. When you say your church "doesn't let gays sing", I assume you mean not sing (on 'stage') in front of the congregation, as opposed to singing in the pews, right?

2. How does your church identify "gays"?

3. (a) Is this rule written down into the bylaws? (b) Was it decided by the church consistory (or specific group of elders) or by the pastor?
It is clearly stated in print, in a form you have to sign when you join a group, for example the praise team. It was drawn up by the pastor and approved by the board.

So yup, it's legal.

Ah, I see. Do you know what it says? It's no simple matter to define if someone is gay. It's not like there's a blood test.

I would guess it reads something like, "one must not currently be a in sexual relationship with the member of the same sex"?

I don't know if you all have been keeping up with the news this week but so far i've seen dozens of articles in different areas of USA which are not endorsing LGBT month and parades and in some states they've even banned them altogether.
So i guess society self-regulates itself when one side or another goes too crazy,

I've read in an article where a gay man was saying that trans people are becoming hostile. lol A gay man said that.

Something like that. I read it when I signed it to make sure it made syntactic sense, but I didn't retain the exact word order in memory.

Well the whole 'I hate my body' thing has now become epidemic amongst girls what with eating disorders almost like a rite of passage for a certain subset of tweens

Not to say boys dont experience the same thing, they do but its more like if they dont have muscles or strength or undeveloped or lagging behind others in their peer group.

It was interesting reading the faking it memoir, when kyle transitioned t pass as female, then kyle got a huge surprise that other men seeing he was now female would start harassing him. Well welcome to the club! I think he thought life would be so much easier being female and he would then be adored and constantly praised for feminine beauty. lol

well no. Also being adored for your physical appearance isnt necessarily a good thing. And its not the thing that makes you feel whole either. You know when you are female you will have days when you look and feel great and then other days are bad hair days. I think some guys have this misunderstanding that females will always look feminine and beautiful ALL the time lol

Got ya. So actually, technically, it wouldn't be accurate to say "gays" cannot sing from stage. A church member may have same sex-attraction and not engaging in the activity.

You'd probably agree, besides when it might be necessary to use the term, for inside the church body it's not really useful to use the term in regard to some sort of "identity". Christians have lots of attractions they don't identify by, nor would we go around labeling each other as such cause that would be a rather hostile environment. :geek::coffee:

That sounded a whole lot like you just accused me and/or my friends of being secret, latent homosexuals...

It's not very lady like!

On a more somber note, I think we're under God's judgement. It's not eschatological judgement, it's more like a community judgement - community being a whole country or just a group of people. There's many examples of this throughout the bible - Sodom and Gomorrah being a glaring example of judgement or the rite of passage to the promised land taken away from the original tribes of Israel. They never set foot in it, even Moses. One thing that's true though, there's always recompence. There's always redemption, a payback, and sometimes good people get caught in the crosshairs.

Most of the time people see the signs, too. I've been going to this little church for two years now. I love that church. It reminds me of that song about that little brown church in the wildwood. It's even almost in a vale. You can walk right out the back door and thirty steps will take you to a creek that's as temperamental as the rain. The church is Methodist, a part of the United Methodist, and they're going through this argument about performing gay marriages and hiring gay clergy and so on. It's all just a worldly fight. And the members there at that little brown church see the signs! They know what they're doing. They just don't move. They don't get out when the gettin's good. And I keep reminding myself about the ladies with lamp oil. And those ladies without.

Judgement is hard, but I'm hopeful it leaves an opening for God's alternative future.

This is so true. About the harassment, I don’t think men realize how bad that really is. Sometimes I’m thinking that all men should be forced to live like a tiny woman for a week. Maybe they then would understand that their “jokes” ain’t much fun for a woman half their size. It’s oftentimes really scary.

if someone says they "were born that way" does that make it right to live that way? We have a number of people who are in jail because feelings they were born with but the law currently says they are wrong. - What do you think?

Howdy steve and welcome to the forum.

Well... if someone identifies as a murderer, by modern logic who are we to say he is wrong? :p

What about a shop lifter, sexual predictor, adulterer, or any other sin for that matter.

Usually, I found you can ask your own self your question. If your daughter or sister or even someone you care about is dating or planning to marry any of your above list, would you have concerns? Would it give you pause? I believe scripture when it tells us we humans are made in the image of God. Even God-less people know sin because of this. Don't get me wrong, we try to skate quite a bit. We make excuses, but don't be fooled. People are not born to not know these deep Godly secrets. It's our original sin. We tasted the fruit of Godly knowledge. But there comes a time when God give people over to their sin. Gives them over to their own reprobate mind and it's a tragedy of humankind.

My guess is you'd have big problems if your sister or daughter was interested in such a man. Can you expect less from your own Father God? Both His and your concerns are born of same love.

A substitute teacher was fired one time for not playing along with a kid who "identified" as a cat.

You can identify as anything and modern society will say that's okay.

Personally I'd LOVE to identify as retired... But my wallet is shockingly closed-minded. :cautious:

In the sins you listed, I think modern society would only object to the shoplifting, and only because it costs the store. The rest of them modern society would be fine with. There are some who try to claim pedophilia is an "identity" that should be seen as normal.

Interesting and very rare interview from a transgender willing to step forward and rationally talk about his problems who de-transitioned and is speaking out about the trans agenda he got swept up into including a description of that may be very real mental illnesses behind the scene getting ignored.
