1 John 5:11 - And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These
things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that
you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:11-13 + John 6:47

Being born again is a spiritual transaction that only God can do. It's by water and the Spirit. The water is the word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. We cannot do this for ourselves. Neither can we undo it.
So that only leaves God to do it. But He has no interest in doing so. He will never leave us or forsake us. Neither is there anything which can separate from the love of God.
There are a number who attach themselves to the church for various reasons and to various degrees who later leave the church and return to their former ways. Many even appear to be genuine believers. But they were not.
God loves with an everlasting love. Once He sets His affection upon you, He will continue to be with you and work in you until the day of Jesus Christ.
I appreciate you brother, agree with most of what your post but, sorry, if you read the parable about the seeds I think it's clear you can walk away from God's grace. The prodigal son, same situation. It's judging to say they were not genuine in the first place.
I think I mentioned a pastor I had sat under who left his wife for his music leader. Devastated his family, three grown children starting their own families. He took off and has remarried this woman and taken on her children and started a whole new life. Was he never saved?

You shall know them by their fruit. Sounds like rotten fruit to me. Just because someone is a pastor does not automatically mean they are saved.

As for the prodigal son. All three parables in Luke 15 were in rebuke to the Pharisees and scribes who complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them." Those who believe that salvation can be lost will use the parable of the prodigal son to prove that believers can lose their salvation by arguing that the prodigal son was spiritually alive, then spiritually died (lost his salvation) and was spiritually alive again (regained his salvation) from Luke 15:32 based on certain translations which read: ..thy brother was dead, and is alive AGAIN (KJV) ..for your brother was dead and is alive AGAIN (NKJV) ..this brother of yours was dead and is alive AGAIN (NIV)

Yet others will argue that in this parable, being made "alive AGAIN" foreshadows the "born AGAIN" experience that Jesus spoke of in John 3:3. Of course Jesus wasn't talking about being born again spiritually again and again. We are born once physically and born "again" once spiritually.

I find it interesting that certain translations of Luke 15:32 simply say your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found (ESV); your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found (NCV); this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found (NRS); this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found. (NASB)

again heresy is not something you can believe in, it's only a concept that comes about from lack of understanding or leaning on your own.

Doubting your salvation is in a way is like trying to work your salvation out with fear and trembling.

But rather than ask for your self its far easier to ask about somebody else's salvation

It's a bit of a stinker.

Because you can only know that you will be saved
Unless you die in heresy.

I appreciate your kind comment.
I understand that people often have experiences that shape their understanding. But experience differs from person to person. This makes it a poor arbiter of truth. It is possible for someone through self discipline to appear to be genuinely saved and never to have truly been converted.
Which of the disciples pointed to Judas when Jesus revealed one of them would betray Him? The Apostle John said they went out from us because they were not of us. Until they left no one recognized this to be the case. Even the Apostle Paul was surprised that Demas left.
The truth is that if the Apostles couldn't with certainty know the eternal disposition of those they were most familiar with, how can we? God in saving us has also committed to keeping us.

Yes, we have read "the parable" which Christ taught the twelve apostles for the
twelve tribes Of ( earthly ) Israel, under prophecy / covenants / law.
However, this certainly must be:

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ” (online)

Christ's Words, From Heaven, To ONE apostle for The ONE Body Of Christ,
Under Grace, According To The "Revelation of The Mystery", because of:

Christ's ALL-Sufficient Work On The Cross!

We certainly have a Multitude of Plain And Clear Passages 'For'
God's Eternal Salvation:

God's OPERATION On all HIS New-born babes In Christ!

God's Eternal Assurance!

God's Eternal Life Insurance!

Please Be Very Richly Encouraged And Edified.

Amen.

There's a saying said people are like sheep, or people follow there nose.

Quite often they trip up,

All tho I wonder if that rule would apply to you.

how can you walk away from God? Where can you go that he is not?

remember.

The gift of salvation is Gods promise to you. You can not do anything to earn it. So it is up to him to keep his promise. Not up to you.

People in heresy are continually repelled away from God.

If one "bears fruit" does that mean they are saved?
Fruit of the Spirit can by definition only be produced by the Spirit. Much of what people identify as fruit today are merely works of the flesh. Not sure most understand the difference.

Matthew 7:17 - Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
