You'd better bring a good game. World of Warcraft and final fantasy XIV were both very interesting, with great dialogue. He would often quote me some of the script. And it was almost good enough to get me playing it.
The games you mentioned are subscriptions. World of Warcraft for example is $77.94 every SIX months. Took a look at Final Fantasy XIV and that's a bit pricey too - it's on sale at Steam right now, but also requires a
monthly subscription as well. Understandably it's because the devs come out with new content, but that's still a lot of money to pay every one to six months. I don't play games on a consistent enough basis.
I prefer those types of co-op games you only pay for only
once - even better if I could get them on sale. I don't like competing against other players. I much prefer games where you can fight together against computer enemies.

Wonderlands game (new series)
Dysmantle
Generation Zero
Raft
Subnautica (there's a co-op mod for it)
There are others, but these are off the top of my head right now.
