Twice recently I have had very frightening experiences where an evil menacing entity has placed itself close to me. I sensed it during the time between wakefulness and sleep. The first time I cried out to Jesus Christ for help and it vanished instantly.

The second event was last night . I was afraid to sleep, so I stayed sitting up and I prayed fervently for Jesus's protection. I placed my Bible on my bedside. Eventually I lay down and switched off the light. A short while later I sensed it in the room, I quickly cried to Jesus. It did go away but I heard it as if some distance away. It was roaring, full of rage as if banging on some barrier to get at me. I prayed more and seconds later all was peaceful. I sat up, praying , thanking Jesus. I was able to sleep fine after that.

I know why this happened. In the past I have had similar experiences when I was vulnerable. In recent times I have become really unwell, so very depressed, gradually not valuing life to the point of actually considering suicide.

I am a fully baptized, believing Christian. Yet I have allowed negativity to overwhelm me. I have been festering over the pain others have inflicted on me emotionally over a long time. Allowing myself to resent and hate them. Going against the Bible and Jesus's teachings. This must have left me open to attack from evil, from the devil's demons. They will home in on a vulnerable soul. It IS the soul they want.

I have decided to mend my ways, no more depression. Start valuing the life God gave me. I have let my Bible study go, so I shall focus on it again and increase my prayer life. I just do not want to be afraid to go to sleep!

I sleep separately from my husband because he is a dreadful snorer. Since he is not a believer as I am, unfortunately, I am reluctant to tell him of these experiences because he could become very frightened and think we are being haunted. Only those who understand spiritual warfare can cope with this.

I have my faith and the power of Christ to call upon, that really is the only effective weapon against demons.
So I have written this post to ask for advice about prayers of protection, ask if anyone else has had such events and to warn atheist's that demonic entities are real and truly evil. They want our souls.

They are already defeated and have no power.
You have the spiritual authority over them when you pray in Jesus name.
Seems from here that most have an outward form as opposed to genuinely walking with Him in one on one relationship.
You can command them leave in Jesus name.
Several I know in my circle of believers as have I, when in a situation where "spirits" are called notice they always flee their presence.
One gentleman was at a gathering where a Ouija board was brought out, after a few minutes the owner said, "it isn't going to work, somebody is praying", it was my friend silently praying for His intercession.
We need not live in fear of anything, anywhere, anytime.
P.S. Your husband may need a sleep study and a cpap or bipap machine.
bless you sister

A Prayer Against Demonic Influence

O Almighty God, who delivered Your people from the bondage of the adversary, and through Your Son cast down Satan like lightning, deliver me also from every influence of unclean spirits. Command Satan to depart far from me by the power of Your only-begotten Son. Rescue me from demonic imaginings and darkness. Fill me with the light of the Holy Spirit that I may be guarded against all snares of 33 crafty demons. Grant that an angel will always go before me and lead me to the path of righteousness all the days of my life, to the honor of Your glorious Name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Where did you get the idea that believers can be attacked in this way by demons? The believer's final authority in all spiritual matters should be God's word. I'm curious if you read something in His word that gave you the idea that we should fear attacks like this. I'm not saying I don't believe something is going on with you; I'm asking if you could share any relevant scriptures and maybe we can examine them.

Always, and I mean always, pray to Jesus and ask Him to fight your spiritual battles for you. Never engage Satan or other evil spirits directly.

cf. Job 1, Ephesians 6, Luke 10, James 4, 1 Peter 5, Jude 9, Revelation 12.

Put on the whole armor of God.

By submitting to God, we can resist (NOT rebuke) the devil

Satan can only do what God allows him to do.

Satan is a roaring lion who seeks people to devour, so we need to always be sober and vigilant.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren, and he will be cast down.

It just happened suddenly but I knew I must pray using Christ's name. It worked quickly.

The new testament has many cases of demons afflicting people and Jesus delivering them.

I absolutely agree. I would never directly take on any such entity. Calling out to Jesus always works.
I would like some appropriate prayers for before bed and as comfort afterwards if I am disturbed again.
I'm hoping prayers can prevent any more encounters.

Baptized, Christian believers?
My own theory is that there is more reason why demons have a go at baptized Christians. In fact we are far more likely to get attacked, since we not only believe but wish to spread the good news of Christ. We are a real threat to Satan, I have noticed my discomfort always increases when I step up my efforts.
I think the devil leaves people be if they are doing nothing much about development of their faith. It suits him. Of course believers may have to pray harder and really draw on faith in order to resist temptation, as none is immune while here on earth.
The difference is we know what to do in a situation of being attacked. Calling upon Jesus is essential but certainly in my case I am frightened. I am nothing and helpless without my Saviour's help.

Well, I had hoped we could discuss the scriptures; but your own opinions seem to carry more weight for you, so I can't add anything helpful. Best wishes.

Hello MaryM,

Perhaps you would wish to print this post and refer to it? I will go into details that you might want to recall.

My heart goes out to you in your affliction.
I will not provide advice, but will provide you what I do in stressful times. This is a forum and not a consultation, so this is one neighbor speaking over coffee to another.

I am going through one of the biggest troubles of my life right now. When I have been in the midst of a life-threatening challenge at work, a stranger shows up to interrupt at the exact moment my focus must be undivided or else. They interrupted me to ask me in a most insulting way if they can take a very valuable item that was next to me. That was not by coincidence.
Many things have recently occurred which would take too long to explain. Those I thought were friends judge as Job's friends while I defend them from harmful influence.
There have been many occurrences all at once that I cannot attribute to coincidence.

Knowing this, I do the following,

A. Stay close to the Lord.
Increase daily Bible reading, pray urgently, Bible memorization.

B. Focus on the Lord and the needs of others during my time of most drastic loss.

C. Use the trials to motivate me to bearing fruit.

D. Encourage myself in the Lord.
No believers are of any encouragement near me. When I asked for help, only an unbeliever was willing. I'll take that.
I would too if I had a spouse. I would communicate the need for encouragement as that is found in the Proverbs.

E. We have a soul which overlaps from the previous point D. I don't want to fill my soul/ thoughts with worldly or stressful things.
Encouraging sermons and praise music is important. I have a tendency to watch current events in the news. That's why I must curb that and replace that time with focus on work and the Word.

F. Health is essential.
I have eaten very little, lost my appetite and slept very little for an extended period of time. I must eat to live and remind myself daily to choose the healthiest foods, especially raw produce and good fats even when not hungry. Raw fruit for the afternoon is good to keep energy levels up and plenty of purified water all day long.

Supplements for sleep I've used:
Chamomile tea before bedtime
Low dose 5 HTP increasing as needed.
L-Theanine
Wild Lettuce Extract for my sore muscles from heavy lifting.
Lavender, Frankencense, Peppermint essential oil mixed with coconut oil for sore muscles and relaxation night and day.

Supplements for mealtime:
Magnesium Chelated (I avoid oxide due to little efficacy) Relaxation and hundreds of functions.

1 l-Theanine (amino acid helps relaxation with out drowsiness)
Super B Complex (energy, nervous system, mood)

Panax Ginseng (energy, stamina and adaptogenic)
Other Adaptogens that are available.

Dark leafy greens as much as possible. They are most effective eaten raw in a salad with a little oil for dressing like raw (NON THC) Hemp oil that's available in the cooking oil section of grocery stores. I avoid other dietary oils except Coconut. Vegetable oils are inflammatory and counterproductive, especially during stressful times. However, avocados are good eaten fresh and with salads. A spritz of apple cider vinegar or citrus fruit keeps it fresh longer while eating so it doesn't brown immediately. Fatty fish, red meats, and calf liver helps keep cholesterol levels up for proper hormone functions.

The information is part.of the Biblical holistic approach that I take and variations of such plus more when I provide consultations.
These are all from God's creation that have helped me.

I don't remember if I ever shared the following with you, but the good news to follow is the first step for demonic deliverance. I avoid "deliverance ministries" because I have yet to find one that includes the correct start. This will likely make the demons flee when followed by A-D.
If not, there is proper prayer and fasting, but the first thing is first. You have probably seen me post this before, but if you haven't applied it, I would do so now.

I will pray for you MaryM and trust the Lord will help you more than anyone.

Great News!

More great news !
🙂📖

To your, health and happiness !

There is a lot to that, satan leaves you alone if he already has you.
I have posted videos from "Nanette" who has a channel called "Narcissism Exposed" in Misc. one of the principles she shares is "If the devil can't get you, he will send a narcissist" .
The strongest , best, fastest, way to walk with Him is to pray in the divine prayer language.
blessings Mary

Read the book of roman .apostle speaks on deliverance from the curse .and the gift of grace. Fear has no place in the life of a believer . God bless

I admit I am now frightened of the dark, I keep a nightlight on and sit up avoiding sleep for hours and just reading and napping. I dread the night, I welcome the morning light.
Prayer calms me.
Please pray for me that this is just a temporary crisis. That Jesus Christ gets rid of whatever it is and restores peace.
