2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

so they are Justified

Scripture tells us when a man or woman is justified (i.e. when God imputes righteousness):

Romans 4:

20 He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he [God] had promised, he [God] was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it [righteousness] was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Is that everyone in the world ?

The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient to cleanse all sin of all mankind.

Some suppress the truth in unrighteousness and reap the consequence of their rejection of the sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ for them:

Romans 1:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

vs 18 - the words "who hold" are translated from the Greek word katechó which means to suppress, to restrain.

vs 19 - God has revealed that which may be known of God

vs 20 - because they suppress the truth in unrighteousness even though God has revealed Himself to them they are without excuse.


... at that point ... there is no other offering for sin which is acceptable ... and those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ will suffer the consequence of their rejection of that which has so freely been provided to them.
