Nah, I'm not cynical and jaded. Even the emotional constipation was a comedy line.

But I do remember what this forum was like a few years ago. Convivial banter was the order of the day, about every day. Currently the forum is nothing like it used to be. You can't start a thread about "Chocolate is good" without people trying to castigate you for being addicted to caffeine, claiming you are defiling the temple of your body with candy, etc.

So when someone like you gets a lot of backlash and instead of arguing back you try to get the thread back on the topic of talking with Jesus (which IMO is much better than arguing) I try to be supportive.
Thanks, Lynx.

I had a very interesting Dream -- (September 18th)

12 Now when Jesus heard that John [the Baptist] had been arrested and put in prison, He left for Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He went and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the country of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: 15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee [in the district] of the Gentiles— 16 “The people who were sitting (living) in [spiritual] darkness have seen a great Light, And for those who were sitting (living) in the land and shadow of [spiritual and moral] death, Upon them a Light has dawned.”

I have been praying and seeking for the signs we will see right before the tribulation begins. I have come to see that the Antichrist, a counterfeit of Jesus Christ, will have a ministry that in many ways mimics or imitates Jesus. One of those ways is "John the Baptist". Just as John prepared the way for the Lord's ministry I see Elon Musk having prepared the way for the Antichrist. He is a Satanist, and he has put everything in place for the mark of the beast.

In my dream I heard that Elon Musk had been arrested. It was so compelling that I got up and checked the news around 3 am this morning.

But if you look at the Lord's ministry this is the event that immediately preceded His ministry beginning.
interesting, did you have this dream more than once or similar dreams with the same meaning?, thanks.

I suspect that because Paul had been a Pharisee opposed to Jesus he never understood the true value of the law Jesus preached about in the first place, so when he converted he created a theology that entirely discarded the law as an instrument of walking close to God.
How can Paul have discarded the law when he said that we (believers) establish the law? Because Paul was a
Pharisee he understood the law very well, and better than most regarding what it meant that Christ had fulfilled it.

Another point is that Jesus was a descendant of David, and David wrote extensively
about his own virtue and integrity largely in keeping with the Law.
Problem here is that David did not keep the law.

Another thing is when Paul vilified the Jews of his day, he wasn't rejecting them on the basis
of their rejection of Jesus as the Messiah, but on the basis of their adherence to the law.
Not quite right in that Paul was against putting new converts under the law, which had never
been given to Gentiles in the first place, and were extraneous/not required for salvation.

But Brian did say, multiple times, that he wants this to be a thread about talking with Jesus,
not a thread debating the theological merits of Paul. As the OP, that should be respected.
I must have missed that. I saw great long lists made by the OP about what he had against Paul.

One cannot make such lists and expect others not to respond to them.

This again? I'm running out of facepalms...

The OP made a comment about Paul being wrong. We questioned that comment. He explained it. We disagreed. Some of us disagreed for a looooong time, with a LOT of loooong posts. The OP said whoa, whoa, wait, this thread is supposed to be about... (Sorry, it has gone on so long that I forgot what this thread was about. Something about prayer?) Some of the other forum members kept on arguing about Paul.

Some are STILL arguing about Paul...

But I guess it doesn't matter now. The thread is dead, suffocated under Paul palaver. RIP thread. Better luck next time OP.

The OP doesn't know what he is talking about...or he is truly talking to.

What do you mean, again? It is not like you have explained it to me before.

Ah, so a thread was derailed and this is something new? No? Oh.

Sounds like the OP steered into the derailment. Lesson learned?

Yes. Better luck next time.

PS~ many don't take kindly to others disparaging Paul.

PS~ many don't take kindly to others disparaging Paul.
By extension, he also disparaged Jesus who called Paul, James, John, and Peter who gave Paul the right hand of fellowship, and Luke who was Paul's traveling companion.

There goes almost the entire New Testament down the drain.

This guy should have been shown the door a long time ago.

Yeah. He sure learned his lesson. :cautious:

I got a strong impression he was repeating what he has heard people in his church say. He was wrong, but honestly wrong - which is still wrong, but lambasting him like we did was not right.

Hi, I would like to have a serious discussion about seeking the Lord. I have been praying earnestly the last few weeks, trying to get the Lord's help. He has been helping me some, and I have a long way to go. Is there anyone else out there mature who wants to talk about Jesus experientially (and not ram scripture down the throat of whoever will listen to them)? I am looking for a discussion among equals of whoever speaks to and hears Jesus on a daily basis.
I am very happy to talk on those terms. 🌻

I think people should be comfortable in their skin and unshakeable in their faith.
For example, i have my doubts about David in the OT but I have to respect David because Jesus quoted him and since i respect things based on authority, then if God himself sees David as an important person in His plan, which i don't understand, then i simply accept that despite the fact that i might not like David as a person.

So if Brian doesn't like Paul, he should respect Paul since Paul is part of God's plan.
I also respect Jesus' mother which a lot of Protestants are a bit touchy about because Catholic knee-jerk reactions kick-in.
