This is a good idea. I wanted to open a topic once about art but i wasn't sure on the specifics. There is also a media section of the forum here but i don't frequent it that much.
But yeah, i'll follow the lead here wherever it goes.

I don't like painting but i like church art - meaning - i like to view the iconography of the churches, it's beautiful. I also like modern spiritual art or 3d art, this includes some Mormon works i think.
I also like pictures of nature or animals in the wild. In general i enjoy when someone paints a situation from the Bible and turn it into an actual thing you can see with your eyes and imagine how thing might have been.

Here's one example.

That's nice. Share a few if you'd like.
Personally i don't like painting because i'm not good at it but i do enjoy other's paintings - that's how i appreciate church iconography for example. Those guys are really talented.

These are the recent ones I have done. I know it's simple. Apologies for the simplicity. AG [I truly find joy it in].

Here is a picture of Jesus with the children. This was painted by a Danish painter.
Look at how life-like his work is and you can almost feel being in this setting with Jesus present. I really like this one. I first saw it about 10 years ago.

For me, the classics are the last true bastion of art in the West. Golden toilets, black canvasses... sorry, those are mockeries.

From the ancient Greeks to the Enlightenment, I think the West had its artistic peak, both in terms of visual art and music.

Most people today do not understand what art is, what's purpose is, or what makes it good (I said "most" because there are isolated exceptions). Photo-realism is not what makes something good art. Feelings / emotions thrown onto a canvass is not a formula for good art. Shocking your audience with crudeness is not what makes good art.

I hope real art will have a resurrection when Jesus comes to restore all things.
