I forget that I cannot arrange things at work to how I like it that I could at home but when Im at home I cant either without being judged

so there is great gnashing of teeth unless...I live in a fantasy world and dont work but get paid to play instead.

The lack of kitchen space means theres a desk in the kitchen where the microwave sits and the bread bin is on top or the microwave and the plastic takeway containers are in the shower, and everytime I want to use the oven, I need to remove cookie trays, frying pans and baking trays and put them on the floor or on the coffee table in the lounge.

I mean Im not complaining its just the way it is. I thought I could just cleverly rearrange things a bit like tetris but no, head CEO of the kitchen was not pleased that she did not know where everythng was and thought I had thrown out her valuable kitchen scales.

I tried to work in someone elses kitchen as was looking after her house and daughter, I could not even use her kitchen or find anything it was like she had literally chucked everything in the cupboard and left it there for me to sort through. Dont spoons go in the drawer with the other spoons not all piled in a heap with all the knives and forks? Plates need to be piled on top of each other and accesible when need to use them right not just in random places upside down or hiding underneath other things. How could I put everything back where it belonged when it loked like a bomb had hit her kitchen and there was no place that anything belonged?

Its like trying to find an outfit to wear in a pile of laundry. You tried the cupboards and the closet but no everything is in a big heap and dirty and wrinkled. Colours mixed up and cottons with polyesters. Odd socks. Boxes with scribbled labels on them in another langauge I cannot decipher. It never ends...

Tidying up is a full time job but its worse when you get asked to tidy someone elses mess. Then your own place gets messy because you have spent all your time tidying someone elses mess. I have not found the solution to this existential problem.

I heard that Elon Musk wants to open a university in Texas.
I hope he does and I also hope he opens universities worldwide so people can have better social and critical thinking skills.

On second thought, I don’t think he needs to open many universities around the world because a lot of people from around the world come to US to get a better education and practical training for their fields.

I have lost count of how many medical students from Israel, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Brazil come to my hospital for training.

-Are you guys going back after your training?
-Nah we’re staying, the pay is better here in US.

The pay may be better because there are more suckers in the US. It used to be the US unique selling point was no false advertising so they've figured a way to go around that and just mislead people. Like, "You need this. You're bound to die without it..." stuff like that. Where it used to be honesty in advertising, the unique selling point has become to pitch one fear or another. And there's no limit what people would pay for the assurance of not dying.

honesty in advertising...what a joke!

Most smart people know when they being manipulated and dont listen to snake oil salesmen whatever they trying to sell to make a buck. The US is where the health and wealth gospel came from...and televangelists...and other such con artists sold out to Mammon.

There used to be this US tv show called desperate housewives that made it into the lexicon, though the desperate housewives would often have workaholic husbands that hardly ever saw them.

If work and home are completly separate, then couples households are doomed.
Whatever happened to mom and pop businesses, I dont know. They seemed to work better when they were partners and lived and worked together as a team rather than all having separate jobs that are miles apart.

I can certainly relate to this. Very frustrating and discouraging.

The initial premise of the show is one of the despearate houswives commits suicide and is narrating from the grave. Nobody knows why least of all then husband whom was completely unaware she was so unhappy. Whats so bad about being a housewife? The show was set in a seemingly perfect subruban cul de sac.

Housewives problems are often dismissed as trivial.

Of course its exaggerated version of reality and real housewive laughed because the housewives on the show were super skinny and always wore makeup and never seemed to have any financial difficulties. They must have just been bored right?

well after husbands had a taste of staying at home after being practically forced to in lockdowns they might come to see what kind of crazy you can get stuck at home. There were 0800 helplines and everything for their mental health.

There's plenty of worry warts that need curing, but the cure for a wart, apparently, is to chill it.

Hello. May I ask you a question here?
Can you please explain to me, just so I understand you better.
You‘re saying that these people who come to US to work or study, are staying in the US because they’re being deceived by false advertising?

Nah, they're likely coming for the better chance to get in on the lucrative gain of it.

To make money from false advertising?
I’m sorry but this is starting to make me laugh a bit, but why would a medical student, tech person, plumber or civil engineer leave their country so they can make more money in US because of …. False Hype?
You think the plumber doesn‘t do any work?

An example of the plumber gaining from misleading ideas would be the cultural attitude that, "your nobody if you don't have a Acme eco-friendly toilet equipped with a self-flushing mechanism, which constantly malfunctions or fails to flush due to not enough water pressure to create the vacuum need to eliminate the 'heartier' wastes.

Okay I think I’m understanding you know and I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m trying to say.
A friend of mine who’s a plumber, lived and worked in Greece his whole life. He is a master plumber in fact.
He made a salary of about 2000 Euros a month which is an excellent salary for Greece. I mean it’s a really really good salary.
He came to US with his wife 2 years ago so he could give his daughter a better education and now he makes about 90k a year here and is on his way to become a city inspector with a higher salary of up to 150k a year.

So he is not misleading anybody and neither is he mislead about anything. He does honest and excellent work and is bringing all his experience from his previous job into the market here which pays better. This is why people come here out of their own free will. Because the market here pays better.

My point is that people will pay according to their perceived need as much, if not more, as their actual need. That's all.
