This is the biggest insult you can give to Welsh people that the holy bible should be called the king James bible.

Our history in Wales resulted in our Christian churches being vandalised by these British disrespectful comments
Who hates us Welsh for not bowing down to theese retched kings

And I will leave if this title in this thread is not changed I will come back next week because I don't want to fall out with brothers

But our friend is a very cleaver narcissist who has now become the centre of attention of destroying friendships absolutely fuming

I'm leaving again and I will not take part any more. Where by the holy bible is allowed to be call the king James bible Watch me leave good bye
You were already told that the Holy Bible needs to be identified by version (since there are many versions). So this is just plain silly.

Thread titles do not usually ever get altered by mod.

Threads are not deleted either unless it is very abusive and/or spam.

Threads do sometimes get closed to further replies.

And they do get moved to a more appropriate forum at times.

Untill the title is modded to KJV which I can just about live with.

I'm not entertaining any more views.

If I come back next week after hopefully the good lord has helped me to endure all the trials i have had to endure lately, and I see the title has been amended only then will i feal better,

My sincerity now lays down with the lord to help me to through my latest uninvited battles.

Hopefully by next week I will be able to report that James cleverly the home secretary for the UK, has been sacked for joking it's ok to date rape your wife.

I doubt I would have forgave it by next week tho.

The lord has helped me forgive more serious matters of brothers being divided for being seen as having no sincerity.

All tho that one took a while.

Yup I remember to those days

Only one day the lord spoke to me and told me you know what

Well you know he said the person was deliberately playing the victim card.

He made it look like you had no sincerity.

Anyway I had to learn how to not let that bother me to

It was only then I could speak to people who thought you had no sincerity.

It's amazing what the lord can do 😊

Merry Christmas again cc

Precious friend, you do realize, of course, that our battles are not with each
other, but:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places..."
(Ephesians 6:12, 'armour for this battle' continued through v. 19)

For your comforting Encouragement in "all your trials" may I suggest?:

God's Grace Word for our infirmities!

I will pray for you.

Amen.

Yes, one for England and one for Scotland? First to concurrently be king of both.

James VI and I was King of Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567 and King of England
and Ireland as James I from the union of the Scottish and English.
From a general search.

Son of Mary, Queen of Scots. I saw a movie about it/him/them...

James was Mary's only child. According to the movie, her husband was a raging alcoholic and homosexual.
Many in the movie industry are raging homosexuals and alcoholics who hate the KJV Bible. I think their attacks have more to do with projection and character assassination, thinking that they can neutralize the Bible's claims about them if they can smear the king who funded the project for history's greatest Book.
There's a whole lot more evidence for that than for their claims against King James.
The one man who made the original accusation was a disgruntled employee who was fired .

Here's a sample from the Bishops Bible of 1568.
1:1 In the begynnyng was the worde, & the worde was with God: and that worde was God.
1:2 The same was in the begynnyng with God.
1:3 All thynges were made by it: and without it, was made nothyng that was made.
1:4 In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men,

As you can see the King James Bible represented Christ as "Him" not "it", and that is why it is superior to the Bishops Bible (along with many other reasons). The Greek word autos can be translated as he, she, it, or self (depending on context). Here it should have been "him" since the first verse says that the Word was God. And because the Word was God it was capitalized in the KJB.

Also the Puritans in the Church of England were not too happy with the Bishops Bible. So King James authorized a brand new translation out of the traditional Hebrew and Greek texts. This became the Authorized Version for the Church of England.
Nehemiah, great post.

It does not matter when the term "Textus Rceptus" was used first. Even though the Elzevirs used this term, it was the 1550 edition of the Greek Text of Robert Stephens (Stephanus) which actually became the Textus Receptus. But the Textus Receptus goes all the way back to the 1st century as the traditional text of the NT (contrary to what you claim).
Stephanus is based on Erasmus, who collated from several different sources. Surely you've done your homework enough to know this.

Firstly THERE WAS NOTHJING WRONG with the Greek text of Erasmus. I have already posted on how diligently Erasmus worked on his Greek text. Stephanus, Beza, and the Elzevirs brothers subsequently all worked with this basic text, (and made the slight changes necessary based on many more manuscripts). But overall it remained the same.

And the Elzevirs said (in 1633) that there was nothing corrupt in this text, and therefore the KJB translators had total confidence in the 1550 Textus Receptus of Stephanus. There is a general correspondence between this text and the RP Byzantine Text 2005 as well as the Greek Orthodox Church 1904 text (all based on the traditional text). Scrivener's Textus Receptus of 1894 showed the slight differences from Stephanus.

I guess you don't know about the last six verses of Revelation? Tsk tsk... do your homework!

By the way, if there was nothing wrong with it, why did he make five editions, and why were they all used by the KJV translators?

You really should learn to tone down your rhetoric.

Let’s follow your logic here:

In 1550, Stephanus publishes his revision of the Greek text.

In 1633, a couple of enterprising publishers claim that there is ‘nothing corrupt’ in the Greek text they are promoting.

On the basis of that 1633 claim, the KJV translators in 1604 had total confidence in that text.

More than a few issues there. I am a little surprised that you take advertising blurbs as gospel truth.

Next time, think through your wording before clicking ‘Post reply’.

when's the post coming for telling me your wife was dead like that, was the wrong thing to say.

Or is that not in your history of your king James bible.
This I can tell you; I always replace the top on my tooth-paste tube.
