Hebrews 12:28
Therefore receiving an immoveable kingdom, we have grace; whereby let us serve, pleasing God, with fear and reverence.

Matthew 21:37
And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son.

Mark 12:6
Therefore having yet one son, most dear to him; he also sent him unto them last of all, saying: They will reverence my son.

Luke 20:13
Then the lord of the vineyard said: What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be, when they see him, they will reverence him.

Hebrews 5:7
Who in the days of his flesh, with a strong cry and tears, offering up prayers and supplications to him that was able to save him from death, was heard for his reverence.

Why do so many people refuse reverence towards/to God/Jesus?

Precious friend, are you referring to Grace believers [ most have reverence? ],
or to Ungodly Unbelievers, which none have reverence for a Holy God?

Please clarify...

I am referring to all people who refuse reverence towards/to God/Jesus?

Do you believe right reverence towards/to God/Jesus is necessary for everyone?

Precious friend, then you have Two groups of "all people" who refuse reverence:

1) Grace believers, some of which have not yet learned how, but need to.
+
2) Unbelievers, ALL of whom are dead in sin, and cannot choose to do or refuse
to it, because they need to be saved first, and then they also, as Grace believers,
"can learn how" to show "right reverence toward God/Jesus."

Thus, it is necessary for All Grace believers, in order to receive
"rewards for good works" at Judgment! (1 Corinthians 3:8-15)

Amen.
