As for the ordinances being given by God, consider that they are restrictive; a Hebrew owner of slaves is not permitted to treat them in any way he chooses, but only within the limits of the Law.

Christians do not endorse slavery at all, let alone the mistreatment of slaves.

You didn't say the creator you believe in never endorsed slavery. You admitted he did. So you do believe in a creator who endorsed slavery.

Simple answer is yes, under some instances, during OT times. The slavery we know of today however such as stealing and selling people, human trafficking, etc. was in fact outlawed in the Bible ("anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession." - Exodus 21:16). Basically you cannot enslave a kidnapped person or their descendants, and basically all slaves are kidnapped at some point ( including the slaves from Africa during the slave trade days).

That’s basically what the Bible states. We may assume we are in complete control of our lives, but many of us are a slave to our passions, a list of rules, or a higher power.

We all must submit to someone’s authority, whether willingly or unwillingly. Is that not the definition of a slave?
