In the old covenant, people were slaves to God because of failure. In the New covenant people are slaves to God by choice.

Man lives by the word of God that comes continually from His mouth. We are given the Spirit to hear Him.

Give me scripture, Book, Chapter and verse. I have backed up everything I have stated with scripture. Rest means Sabbath keeping, that is the 7th day of the week it is referring to.
No one has explained the keeping of the commandments throughout the NT including the keeping of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27). Jesus kept it (Luke 4:16), Paul kept it (Acts 17:2), and Gentiles kept it (Acts 13:42-44; 16:13)

" And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." (Matt 15:9)
" We ought to obey God rather than man" (Acts 5:29)
" I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them. " (Hebrews 10:16)
"...to change times and law..." (Daniel 7:25)
"Therefore, the law is holy and the commandment holy and just and good." (Romans 7:12)
"...I have kept My Father's commandments." (John 15:10)
This is all in the NT and there are many, many more. God plainly tells us to keep his commandments and to keep the Sabbath.

No... you are unable to comprehend. Just give me Scripture where the Ten Commandments have changed and the Sabbath has been changed, abolished or transferred. God says the Sabbath will be with us on the New Earth. "...and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord" (Isaiah 66:23)
You're not suggesting he is talking about Sunday, are you?

I already addressed this.

Why would Gentiles "keep" an Israelite ordinance?

They wouldn't! They might, however, for convenience, gather with Israelites to hear the word of God when and where the Israelites gathered.

[Gen 2:1-2 KJV] 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
The Sabbath was the seventh day of creation week, that was the day God rested in a completed creation. It was then left as a memorial for man (that’s why the commandment says “remember”) there weren’t any Israelites. The Sabbath is a gift from a loving creator, not a burden. It spans all time and will be observed after sin has been destroyed and the earth cleansed.

Unfortunately, none of this answers my question. The gentiles were excluded from Israel; they would have no inclination to follow Israelite ordinances.

"Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentles..." (Rom 3:29)
"Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles." (2 Tim 1:11)
"Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity." (1 Tim 2:7)
"So, when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. ..." (acts 13:42-44)
There are many more.

Hebrews 4:9 - So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (NASB) Notice that the Greek word "sabbatismos" here is used nowhere else in the Bible.

W. E. Vine, Greek Dictionary points out:

Sabbath rest (4520) (sabbatismos from sabbatízo = keep the Sabbath) literally means a keeping of a sabbath or a keeping of days of rest. It is used in this passage not in the literal sense (meaning to keep a specific day, the "Sabbath" day) but to describe a period of rest for God’s people which is modeled after and is a fulfillment of the traditional Sabbath.

SABBATISMOS a Sabbath-keeping, is used in Heb. 4:9, R.V., "a Sabbath rest," A.V. marg., "a keeping of a Sabbath" (akin to sabbatizoµ, to keep the Sabbath, used, e.g., in Ex. 16:30, not in the N.T.); here the Sabbath-keeping is the perpetual Sabbath rest to be enjoyed uninterruptedly by believers in their fellowship with the Father and the Son, in contrast to the weekly Sabbath under the Law.
