From this verse it seems like it's speaking of a day when evildoers will be "made stubble", but for those that fear the name of the Lord of hosts, the sun of righteousness shall rise, and so forth.

It doesn't seem to be speaking about a person.

Yes, it does speak of his return and 1000 year reign. Story is told over and over again. This Day is the Day of the Lord which is the same as saying the 1000 year reign of the lord.

Burning of the tares will begin on the Day of the Lord as well as the resurrection/rapture. Same as the story from Prophet Joel and Apostle Peter. Great and Terrible Day of the Lord and Great and Glorious Day of the Lord. Begins at last moment of the Last or Seventh Trump and begins the Bowl Judgements. This is how the Lord shortens the days. Prophet Daniel called this day as the Blessed Day which happens on the 1335th Day of the Tribulation

Yeah I’m not really one who like to calculate the days and hours of his return but it sounds interesting you must be calculating a day as literally a thousand years ?

The coming of the day of righteousness is a relief for the meek faithful because they will be able to live their good lives unharassed by injustice. (This is reminding me of Matthew 5:3-12.) the sun burns, cleanses, this is analogous of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire and brimstone, also the destruction of Jerusalem and city by fire, the roots say all will be destroyed nothing will be left. the same will happen on the day of the lord. so the sun is the son of GOD coming with vengeance!

The sun of righteousness distinction is indicative of something more than the common sun's indiscriminate power. It’s part of the doctrine not to know the timing because we’re supposed to live like it could be tomorrow live upright while we wait for him

Im not sure that you know but that’s just me . What you refer to as tbat scripture thing for the clueless I think of it as what was actually said by God so that could be the disconnect when someone’s “prophesying “ the opposite of the Bible it’s always a red flag for me
