Stay in your believe system.
We can be glad that to judge us is not in man hand but in the Lords hand.
I often enough told you why I cant agree with this man made teaching.
Taking verses put of the context and creating from them a doctrine is not new.
And this has nothing to do with my personal expieriences.
correct, it would do you good to remember what you just said and do it, too.

You have told many things but never showed how it can be in the word of God.

You keep saying man-made teaching, LOL. You don't know the word doctrine means teaching, LOL.

You can't even show what verse you say is out of context and many of us have asked you to do you just keep bloviating.

In the Book of Acts each time the manifestation of those who received the empowering of the Holy Spirit

What happens? Tell me, what was the supernatural reaction of people who received Supernatural power from God?

Acts:
2:4
10:45–46
19:6

Please explain what was the context of these verses being you know them.

Please provide Biblical Context to each of them. If you can, I will wait.

Tell me one living person who does exactly this was Peter and Paul did and expierienced. Is it normal in pentecostal and charismatic services miracles and healings are taking place. But not 3 of 100. I mean 100 of hundred. And not hidden, but as witness for the unbelievers, that they see that Jesus is real. I never heared in germany witnesses like this out of pentecostal and charismatic Meetings.
How many miracles and healings you are doing every day?

Dont understand me wrong. I believe that Jesus is doing miracles and healings today.
From my expieriences mostly in Mission situation. ( i was 20 years involved in Mission ministrie in India)
But what we found in the apostolic time, we dont have today. Why, because the apostles had an special task and God used them in a special way. This endet why ever, when they died.
We have today 100 of millions charismatic and pentecostal believers. Where is there witness to the World,if they had the same Power as the apostles?
Show me, please.

If you are taking a vers, you have it to use in a common context, near context, culturell context personal context.
to whom is it said, for what purpose is it said. F.e. you cant create an doctrine from Jesu sayings or comands for altoif it was given to a special person ore group in a special Situation.

Indeed I’ve noticed the first letter to corinth is an intended harsh rebuke to excommunicate the sinner among them who’s caused the ruckus and spread the leaven and also a rebuke to the church for approving of it and even openly condoning this sinfulness in the church

and the second letter later is sent to reconcile his anger and rebuke to them in the first , to the mercy he was revealing in the second

a sort of first letter to the Corinthians

“For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:3-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but second letter which references the matter again the apostle still considering the matter grievously writes

“For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:4, 6-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

still speaking of the matter

“For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:8-11‬ ‭

It’s a strange perspective we have , we are viewing the times these men were living in and writing letters to groups of believers. To see both of the Corinthians letters at the same time gives a perspective that’s uniques seeing both the repentance and remission of sins

a Paul admitting that even he an apostle was in tears as he wrote then the first harsher letter there’s always love and mercy found somewhere going together with the repentance
Paul loved the Corinthians. Love sometimes requires addressing sins that need to be repented of immediately, and Paul made it very clear that they needed to put this man out of the congregation and deliver him over to "...Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us" (I Cor. 5: 5-7).

I like how Paul references the Holy Days of Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread to help drive the point home to the Corinthians. "A little leaven leavens the whole lump" illustrates that even the "smallest" sin can snowball and corrupt the entire congregation. Christ is our Passover Lamb who suffered and died for our sins - this is our focus for Passover as Christians. The Days of Unleavened Bread that immediately followed Passover put the focus on removing leaven (sin) from our lives as an ongoing process to stay connected to Jesus.

It takes work to purge ourselves of sinful actions and behaviors, and I can say personally that it is a lifelong struggle, at least for me. Sins that I had repented of and overcome earlier in life are now rearing their ugly heads again 30+ years later. It is an ongoing battle where I need to rely on God and the power of the Holy Spirit to identify sin and pray that it is removed from my life completely. Forgiveness and repentance are an ongoing state of mind for me to allow God to fight the battle against foes that are far more powerful than I can conquer on my own: Satan, this world, and my biggest foe - my sinful nature.

yes it’s like life we learn and grow and face obstacles we make mistakes but we learn hard lessons .

The thing is he’s with us and had given us the answers for when we do make mistakes or struggle to overcome he’s offered freely his wisdom to believers and the example he gave us on the gospel to follow after

indeed if I have children and love them and one is on a path that will destroy him , of course I’m not going to oreotend he’s perfect and doing everything just right all the time . As a parent who loves him I’m obligated to tell him the truth and show him the better way and bid him to take that oath instead of the one leading to his demise

this is what Gods doing for us he’s saying hey there you are heading for a cliff to which you won’t survive the fall so come with me instead and I’ll lead you to my home of safety and teach you the ways of God

Sometimes love is hard to live up to and sometimes repentance makes us sorrowful when we’re made aware of our sin. But this is good it means we will repent from that sorrowful heart being made aware of our own deeds

I light makes things manifest you can step in to a dark room and assume it’s clean but then you can turn on the light and there’s junk everywhere that needs to be cleaned

“While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:8-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can try to hide in the shadows with our sins and secrets

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:19-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or we can come into the light

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭KJV‬‬

light shining in us isn’t always pleasant because it reveals flaws but it is the approaching the light that shines on them so he can wash them away

You missed Acts 8
The context is that God wantet to make the jews clear, that the gospel is for all.
2,4 for jews
Acts 8 for the samaritians
Acts 10 for the nations
Acts 29 for the disciples of John the Baptist.
Thats all. No doctrine, that all who receives the Holy Spirit will speak in tongues. You have to note that the speaking in tongues was understable for the people around.
While this not happend in the todays teaching about it.

Acts:
2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

10:45–46
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

19:6
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Why did they speak in tongues or prophesy?

all verses state :

1. the Holy Spirit filled them, poured out on them, or came on them, and they spoke with Tongues. Could they not just have the Holy Spirit come upon them or poured out and not have a verbal reaction each time?

Sure, but that is not what the word of God says, is it. Those who a biased will never want to see this point they attack and say we created a doctrine.

Is not God real? Is not the Holy Spirit the third Person of the Holy Spirit? Tell me how do you know that you were empowered by the Holy Spirit what was the effects of that happening in your life>

I can tell you That Jesus was right and did not Lie; you will receive the power to witness. That was the point of my post, not the tongues, and some try to make it about. However, to say one creates a teaching based on the word of God and call it a doctrine

FYI, that is the text Book term and meaning for Doctrine.

Dear Lord, empower your people as we need you to be an effective witness of your death, burial, and Resurrection. We seek you and not the gifts but the gifts to be used to glorify you. We seek to do the work you called us to do. But apart from you, we can do nothing. Baptize me, Lord, with the Holy Spirit and empower me to be a witness of you and your resurrection. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
Truth is spoken and God is doing, done that for you, in you and to you as God does to all that turn to God in belief of Son Jesus for them as risen, where the new Life is given of the risen Christ to live through them as if Jesus never left. Father in the Holy Spirit joins in, like as the wind, said in John 3
Thanks Friend in the risen one, Yashua Ha'Masiach, Rauch Ha'Kodesh
Freed from having to do it under Law, to doing itin the risen savior for us, by Faith Trust, without having the consciousness of doing it, since it be new, God doing it through us now. We resting in it Hebrews 4:9-13. Evil loves to give guilt and pride, which is not from God to have in our Psyche
Saves our Souls, not our flesh, seeing to be dead to that daily, at least this I am now finally seeing and learning new from it

Amen - the closer we get to Jesus, the Light, the more our sins are exposed, so He can cleanse us from all sin as you noted from John's verse above. Paul put the light on the Corinthians and the person who was involved in that blatant sexual sin, all too common in Greek and Roman culture back then, and the important thing is they took action, addressed the sin, and repented.

As blunt and harsh as Paul was to the Corinthians in the first letter, his second letter to them was much gentler and focused on the softer side of God, "...the Father of mercies and God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3). I remember when my dad would chasten me for bad behavior and send me to my room crying. He would let me be there in isolation feeling terrible about what I had done, but he also would come to me later, provide comfort, and explain why he had to punish me. He loved me and wanted me to become a responsible person of good character (still have a lot of work to do in this area...:D).

I think we have the wrong idea about what true agape love is at times. There's this notion that it should be all hugs and praises, but love also requires correction and discipline. As Christians, we shouldn't come down hard on people we love to assert authority, generate fear, and seek to control them. The goal is to highlight sinful behavior and actions to create a sorrow that leads to repentance ultimately like Paul did with the Corinthians:

2 Corinthians 1:6-7

New King James Version

6 Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation.

We need a blend of praise and pain as Christians. If it's all praise, sin gets swept under the rug. If it's all pain, life is unendurable. Suffering and consolation should go hand-in-hand to lead us to turn from our sins and surrender our lives more fully to God:

2 Corinthians 7:10

New King James Version

10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

The Holy Spirit gives us the power to have a "godly sorrow" that "produces repentance leading to salvation." The sorrow of the world produces death because it isn't filled with hope and the chance for redemption. Often, worldly sorrow gets rationalized away, and people only feel sorrow when they are caught and punished for illegal and/or sinful actions. Godly sorrow, on the other hand, causes us to take a hard look at ourselves and seek out that change of heart and mind we need to bask in the ultimate "salvation" the gospel offers!

Indeed when we think of a good father a loving father he’s going to teach his children about right and wrong and explain the results of both courses of action

He’s going to tell them this

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

( and this )

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;

and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24-25, 28-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

i imagine if God didn’t warn mankind it would then be his fault we end up where we don’t want to be but in the other hand of we turn and hear his voice he’s telling us we will never be condemned

imagine a father who just never told thier kids they we’re headed down the wrong path to turn around even though he knew it . That’s not our father in heaven he speaks truth and bids us to believe and live like any good father is going but set thier children up for success fully informed

FYI, that is the text Book term and meaning for Doctrine.

lol

Everyone doesnt receive tongues as a Gift only some

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:28-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we’re meant to work as one unit some fulfilling each role like a body a hand does what it does , a foot also has its unique role the eye also and ears each fulfill thier own part but depend on each other to be whole this is the body of Christ

diversity of tongues was a practical gift for spreading the gospel They weren't just babbling bit speaking actual languages coherently to the crowd from many nations of the ancient world

“Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭

remember what happened Jesus had called them to preach the gospel to all nations of people and told them wait for the Holy Ghost to come you’ll receive power

when they do they begin to speak “ as the spirit gives them utterance and they begin speaking the gospel to all these men in their own language so they can hear the gospel he commanded them to preach

Gods power is making them able to fulfill the commission he gave them bu spiritual gifts one being that they needed to be able to preach to people who spoke other languages so they could understand it

Now I’m sore there’s more to it I’m just saying everyone doesn’t receive the same gifts we’re meant to not envy and come together in groups and further the ministry sharing Jesus with the world as a family or “body “ working together as a unit so we have various gifts to accomplish it in the world

God always enables us to do what we’re called to do and always calls us to love each other

Are you trying to create another false narrative?
Acts 8 Hmm, lets read it, shall we: Remember the thread is about the empowering of the Holy Spirit to be a witness

I am so glad you asked about Acts 8 I have been waiting for you to do so. Yet most who argue that tongues is not fortoday don't go there LOL. Lets look shall at Acts 8

8 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

After the apostles laid hands on the believers, what did Simon see that he wanted to buy with money?

The same thing happened at every other time mentioned in Scripture; they must have spoken in Tongues and prophesied.

Verse 15-15 say they have NOT received the Holy Spirit even though Philp preached Jesus and they were baptized. It says they were (believers) saved. Why did they need the Apostles to lay hands on these new believers in Christ?

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Oops, two things here: they were baptized and saved but not yet had the Holy Spirit come upon them.

Oneness is flipping out; it just blew their doctrine out of the water. They were water-baptized. Why should they need anything else ?

Thank You, wolfwint. You proved what the word of God says and confirmed this Thread.

I was waiting for you to mention Acts 8 because I know you don't know the word of God.

You just troll and hate those who do and can't admit when you are wrong :) Try answering my questions if you can:

  1. What did Simon see that he wanted to buy with money?
  2. Why did they need the Apostles to lay hands on these new believers in Christ?
  3. They were water-baptized. Why should they need anything else?
