Yes it's totally okay because we're Calvinists and we won.
We didn't want this VIP life but we got it. So now that we won, we gotta live it one Mercedes Benz at a time.
I also wanna say that all of you who are driving electric cars are risking your Salvation.
You are confused and you need to grow up.
Cars with batteries is what we used when we were kids and we were playing with toys. Grownups uses real gasoline engines.
Repent now and be Saved!

No, nothing wrong with that... though a pickup truck would make more sense. If you were Asian, you'd be more likely to have a Mercedes or BMW with a fish on it rather than a lowly Lexus.
I have often wondered if Sarah and Abraham were living today, would Sarah have shopped at Walmart and would they be driving some kind of average mid-priced car? Would Isaac have been sent to public schools?
I tend to doubt that. At one point, Sarah told Abraham to get rid of Hagar and Ishmael, because "the slave woman's son" would "never have a place next to her son, Isaac."
I'm guessing sure they would have had the best of the best, been chauffeured around in private cars, as well as traveling in private planes with private security.
Same with Solomon, Jacob, and the other wealthy elite of the Bible...
But I'm thinking there must be a line.
When televangelists today are calling out for God's followers to pay for their mansions, private jets, and luxury lifestyles... I just don't think it would be the same as if Sarah and Abraham were alive today and had those things, as I'm thinking they'd be paying their own way, instead of asking for handouts from followers.
But, I could be wrong.

It's not about how much or little one has so much as how one stewards what God places in one's care. God always expects an increase on what He provides to us. As we show ourselves as responsible, more will be placed into our care.

I have no problem with wealth or having nice things. Job was showered with worldly advantages (most of this life
). He benefited from it, but so did his neighbors. Only if there was idolatry associated with it, or if it was an expression of vanity or sinful pride would I cast doubt on it.

Now, if *I* had that kind of money, I'd get myself the car of my boyhood fantasies, specifically, this:

Yes, I think this is okay to get the Lexus over the Toyota. However, it goes without saying a person with more material wealth should give more to church/charity. If the person is maxing out everything, ignoring more important expenses, etc. and not being wise with his material wealth, that this decision is bad.
I think they would be wealthy in today's standards (big house, nice cars, servants (maybe driver included), etc.) but they would not be flashy and would not be part of the "elite" crowd. The kids would be home-schooled or go to Christian schools, but probably not the really expensive elite private schools. I picture them as acting more "new money" like Warren Buffet, who is apparently very humble and still lives in his old house.
What I know is that one day when my roommate and I were both out of work and running out of money, but we were out at the beach and needed some lunch, God suggested we go to the fancy seafood restaurant nearby.
Now really, we aren't seafood fans and didn't even want to go there, but when we thought on it and talked to God, we determined that the point was not to worry about such things, but to trust His provision.
We went and found a Mexican restaurant and ate there in peace.
Now I don't know if cars or your reasons for wanting a Lexus are sufficiently the same to exactly equate your need for a car with our need for lunch, but I think this is a piece of the puzzle that should probably be considered.
He really is. He knows that the liberals would buy this so he won. He then even took Twitter from them and the liberals still buy his cars.
