I cried when I watched a video clip about the Ustasha. Children burnt alive and everyone slowly tortured to their death. I will not post any pictures of that. They're shocking and upsetting.

The Catholic Church very strongly came out against Nazi ideology in WW2, and Pope Pius XII was hated by Hitler. They signed a concordat with Nazi Germany so that they could have some political leverage to use against them. They frequently called out the Nazi regime on violations of the agreement. Modern historians conclude that the efforts of the Catholic Church and Pope Pius XII directly saved about 700,000 Jews from the Nazis. Contemporary Jewish leaders of the time were all united in their praise for the Catholic Church in her efforts against the Nazis, and the chief rabbi of Rome ended up converting to Christianity after seeing the Catholic Church's efforts to save the Jews.

Bro she is only stating what's out there, photos of the pope with hitler shows compromise for political expediency, ok to me grave error of judgement, millions lost their life in ww2 ten times the amount of Jews in Europe alone. War is evil. I didn't see Peter going to Rome making a pact with ceasar did you?? Yet the church lived on.

Just to be clear the Waldensians weren't around in the earliest times of Christianity, they arose in about 1177 in the time of the Anti-popes. They didn't even hold to anything resembling Protestant doctrine until the Reformation where they allied with the Reformers to strengthen their own position.

I was brought up in the Catholic Church, lost...well not so much my faith entirely but the majority of any holiness that I had, but regained it and I now try to live a life in Christ. However why I lost what I did was not anything to do with the Church itself, just a general and pervasive lack of interest in religion, God, etc. in my country. Jesus is the one who saved me, but the Catholic Church had a big hand in it. I don't judge you in any way, but I think your being on the outside looking in and researching our church through anti-Catholic avenues may be giving you a skewed perception of us. There are some extremely holy Catholics, who love Jesus more than anything. What reasons do those people you know who were raised Catholic who have lost the faith give for losing it?
