Praise the Lord He spared your life through providing you such a skill set!
"The arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholdeth the righteous."

It's never a good thing for evil scum to take innocent life like that murderer did to your uncle. Thank God you put a stop to any further crimes and were able to save the other family members' lives.

For many years I have encouraged men, women and children to get training. There's more chance that unarmed combat will be necessary than firearms. I'm not against any proper moral use of weapons. However, sometimes all you have is what you've got. At contact distances, where these things usually happen, you have hands, feet, elbows and knees as blunt trauma weapons to start with.

Did you happen to write a book on the event?
No

I think most of us. Have very limited perspectives. We can only see an hear so much. And from what we do take in. Only can recall a fraction of that. God has given us all are own uniqueness. Each with there own gifts. I think it is wise to allow freedom of choice. For only God can and does know all. And every man and women should have the choice to have or not have guns.

Admirable just wanting to stop the threat.

For your consideration, I use Tranqulizer guns to knock out intrurders. I do not have to kill someone attacking my family just put them to sleep for the Police.
Are those available in reliable semiautos now?[/QUOTE]
Wow, thanks for that idea. That is a kind thing to do and saves you from blood guilt.

That's not my choice friend. That was the choice of the fella that I was asking. I don't particularly think a tranquillizer is a choice I would recommend, but we all make our own decisions as to what weapons to use. Granted, not every violent encounter requires lethal force.

It doesn't bother me that others in the forum use different versions/ paraphrases.
However, God's Word tells us in numerous places that He will preserve His Word forever, Psalm 12:6,7.
He wasn't talking about the "original autographs" as many claim to refer back to.
They have turned to dust with age. However, it must still exist in some copy. Since the Bible versions are different so as not to violate copyright infringement law and to make the publishers money ( Revelation 22 ending); I had to decide which Bible is the correct one?
After studying the subject, I am convinced that we haven't been without one for 400 years. The N.T. is based upon over 500 copies and portions. I'm posting a video just for you, unless someone else is interested too. I have more advanced teaching available upon request.
Quality can be set up to 1080p or lower if your computer buffers. Enjoy it and pass it along my Canadian friend.

Thank you for that, because it is very relevant. These are the type of techniques that can be used on people WHO DO NOT READ THE BIBLE. As the days grow more wicked, this is how people will be deceived into following the New World Order agenda. They will be people who have never been spiritual or practiced Bible reading to the point where they cannot be tricked. 2 Corinthians 11:14 I listen very closely to someone who profess to be "of God/god" because there are many gods. 1 Corinthians 8:5 The great deception is coming!

Yes, I hope you were blessed. I think they did a good job of explaining and proving our Bible is true.

I used to listen to a pastor for a while and as time went on, he would claim to correct the translation and add a paragraph to define a couple words. I am not a Greek speaker and neither was he. However, I have the same tools on hand as he and know that language translation doesn't work like he was portraying. God correctly preserved His words in spite of the Devil's attempts to cast shade on Him since he deceived Eve. Isn't it good to know that we can trust God's Word? 📖🙂👍

That is true. Just because one has a right to own a gun, does not mean one is obligated to own one. At the end of the day it is a personal choice. But as a canadian who has been shot at twice. I support Americans second amendment right to bear arms.

I believe in the freedom for individuals to make their own choices when it comes to gun ownership. Growing up in a rural area, firearms were part of everyday life, whether for hunting or personal protection. Learning about conceal and carry became essential as I got older and began to explore more remote areas for hiking and camping.I recall a hiking trip where encountering wildlife in a secluded area made me realize the importance of having a firearm for protection. It wasn't about feeling invincible but about being prepared for unexpected situations. That experience reinforced my belief in responsible conceal and carry practices—knowing when and how to safely use a firearm if necessary.

My question is very simple. Is it okay for Christians to own a gun legally for protection purposes? I would love to hear what other people has to say in regards to that.

I personally believe that we dont need a gun, but at the same time, arent everyone entitled to protect themselves? Now, you see where the confusion is with me
It's okay for Christians to own firearms. There are many reasons why a person might want to own a firearm. Self protection is only one of many reasons for owning a firearm.

(Luke 22:36-38) In scripture the Word of God says to have a weapon!! Some may not have ever read these verses before, but now you can see for yourself Jesus has no problem with a believer having a weapon. I respect those who do not wish to have a weapon! But in this day and age please do not tell me not to have one.

I live in Detroit Michigan where even at a gas station your car could be taken by some baddies. I do believe those that carry should be trained in how to use it as well! My saying has always been the following,"

It is better to have a gun and not need it, then to need a gun and not have one"! I have stopped people twice from hurting others by carrying one. Having a gun is not only to protect myself, but to give aid to others such as those who do not carry! The world today is much like a jungle, would you wonder into one without having something to defend yourself? NOT ME PAL!

This question is always strange to me, kind of like asking if Christians should join the Military service. Or if someone breaks into your home and attacks your children, you should do nothing? We live in a fallen world where the Spirit of murder is well-glorified. We should pray every day and follow the laws of the land. Having a firearm is a national right that should not be infringed upon.

Yet when I preach the gospel, I don't take a gun with me to the streets. However, as a Christian, I had to take up arms in war as I served for 20 years. God did not create war; SIN did. Yet God used war to advance HIS will. That is clearly seen in the word of God. Defending yourself in the word of God with the early Church seems to be only in context to the Gospel. Paul did talk about fighting off robbers. Yet all these men gave up their lives for the Gospel. For the GOSPEL

I do not see where their lives were taken for money, homebreaking, or rape. You come to my home in need, and I will help you; you come to my home to do harm to my family, and I will hurt you to the best of my ability. NO pacify, coward, or self-righteous person is going to use the word of God to make me see differently. Just tell me what you did not do to protect your family when it happen ok :).

You would be a good neighbor to have. Between that and pet Mt Lions patrolling the perimeter, you wouldn't have any groundhogs digging around OR thieves.
Is that first one in the list an HSCAR?
What do you think about those. They're the new issue along with the light model aren't they?

Guns are legal so why exclude Christians?

Company Unveils Bullet Vending Machine
Infowars.com
July 8th 2024, 1:18 pm

A new vending machine that sells ammunition is turning heads inside an Alabama supermarket, offering gun owners a novel way to purchase ammo without having to interact with a store clerk.
Purchasing ammo through the vending machine appears to have more safeguards than the US voting system; customers select their ammo type and scan their identification, then a facial recognition camera uses AI to verify their identity.
American Rounds COO Lawrence Songer told WVTM public reaction to the machine, installed inside the Fresh Value grocery store in Pell City in November 2023, has been mostly positive.
“The reviews and interactions we’ve had with customers think it’s a good idea. They think it’s convenient. They like the fact that it’s here,” Songer said, adding, “Sales have been steady and strong at all the locations we’ve launched, so far. And, hopefully it just continues that trend.”
However, one Fresh Value shopper expressed he thought it made ammunition too accessible.

“If you’re a responsible person, you don’t mind walking up to a counter and saying, ‘Hey, I need some .380 ammo or I need some 14 ammo,’ and if it takes you an extra second or two, so be it. You’re dealing with something that can take someone’s life. So I think that’s not too much of a price to ask,” the customer stated.
Songer contends the machine safely stores and secures the ammo so retail employees “don’t have the worry of putting something out on their store shelves that someone could steal.”
The company has so far put machines in 6 locations throughout Alabama and Oklahoma.

It's okay for Christians to own firearms. There are many reasons why a person might want to own a firearm. Self protection is only one of many reasons for owning a firearm.
Especially in this day and age where evil is running rampant and the government is useless.
