I know this is my first thread, but I came to this site to ask people's opinions.

God has called me to be a prophet, but I don't understand the point of it. What good is it to know what is going to happen? What good is it to tell people what's going to happen?

When I do tell people what is going to happen, they don't believe me and they come up with any explanation they can to say that what God has shown me will happen won't happen.

Deuteronomy 18:21,22 gives the test of a prophet: "[SUP]21 [/SUP]You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” [SUP]22 [/SUP]If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed." I will pass that test when what God has shown me comes to pass. The only problem is that when what I say comes to pass, there will not be anyone alive or on this forum to verify it.

Even the most devout Christians on this forum will not be able to accept what I have to say. God is going to do a thing so great and terrible that you cannot even fathom it, let alone accept it. And again I ask, what good is it for me to tell anyone? I fear, and think I know deep down in my heart, that God has raised me up to be the unheard prophet: a raving madman preaching from the street corner about what He is going to do and that no one will listen or heed my warning. And then it will be too late.
You asked, What is the point of being a prophet...what good is it to tell people of the future? I must ask you, What do you believe a prophet is?
Yes, prophecy does entail prophecy of future events, but that is not what prophecy is. Prophecy is the proclamation of what God has told you to say. Prophets are not simply called to tell the future. They are men who have heard to voice of God and they do and say what God commands them to so His those God chooses to hear His message may know His will and ways.
You ask, what good is it to be a prophet. I would say that if you have not heard from God and if He has not made this known to you then you are no prophet of His.
Seek the Lord. Test the spirits. And above all, glorify the Lord and His son Jesus.

So I don't have to read the whole thread, was there a post where the OP actually prophesied a future event?

I took my sign to Milwaukee Monday and held it up at the Protest against the RNC the leftists were holding. Then I went and held it outside the RNC security gate on the Kilbourn Ave bridge for all the Republicans attendees to see.

The next day I took it to downtown Chicago and held it up a block away from Willis Tower on the Adams Street bridge.

I go to witness and share Christ with a lot of people through my sign.

I was sleeping in my car at a rest area with the tornado sirens going off lol. But I survived. The next day when I was in the city, all seemed well with sunny skies.

While I was in Chicago, my hometown area in southern Illinois got flooded with all kinds of destruction. Flooding topped a dam not far from where I live and shutdown I64.

What is the point in being a prophet?
There's a really big point. It is(not was) God's plan for the whole church to do so.
Acts 2
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

God spoke thru Joel in the OT, Peter confirmed it in the NT, & throughout Acts it happened.
I'd say that's a pretty big deal.
BTW, God is still doing this in christians who believe.
Like all NT teachings to the church, it will continue to the end of the church age.

The point in being a Prophet is obedience to God to deliver the message He gives one to who He wants it delivered to. (simple stuff)

Greetings voiceinthewild. A prophet is a person who receives the Holy Spirit of the Father. The Holy Spirit is referred to as "the angel of His presence". An angel because it can be sent, and where the Holy Spirit is, the Father is.
Isaiah 63: 9-10 In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit; therefore, He was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
1Cor 3: 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Where the Holy Spirit is, the Father is.
The Holy Spirit is a portal through which the Father communicates, speaks through, and empowers the being indwelt. All Christians who are truly saved receive the Holy Spirit (communication from God).
In response to your post:
1 John 4: 16-18 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

House Republicans say Biden must resign after ending reelection campaign

House Republicans are calling on President Biden to resign from office after he announced that he would no longer seek reelection, arguing that he should not continue to serve in the White House if he is unable to run for another term.

The comments — several of which were from House GOP leadership — came shortly after Biden said he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race, a seismic announcement that rocked the political world and left the path forward for Democrats uncertain.

“If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately,” Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) wrote on the social platform X. “November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.”

“If the Democrat party has deemed Joe Biden unfit to run for re-election, he’s certainly unfit to control our nuclear codes. Biden must step down from office immediately,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (Minn.), the No. 3 Republican in the chamber, wrote on X.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.), the chair of the House GOP conference, echoed that sentiment, arguing that he is “unable and unfit” to complete his term.

...Biden announced he was stepping aside from the Democratic presidential ticket in a letter to the country Sunday afternoon

I emailed this to Steve, pastor at The Rock Church, on May 15, 2022:

"Had a dream about Israel last night.
The whole land was up in arms and going crazy. The police were having some kind of stand-off with other police. It appeared like it was a union strike. Some of them were holding the line and some were discussing their grievances. It seemed like a civil war, but it was literally civil. They were mad at one another, but not attacking one another. The whole land was conflicted from end to end."

This was what, 8-9 months before Israel started their strikes against the judicial reform? They're practically on the verge of a civil war right now. It looks over there exactly what I saw in my dream.

The only timestamp for this is in the original e-mail I sent. I posted about it on Facebook here several months ago: Do you think my dream was prophetic? I... - Jon Christian Minor | Facebook

If you read the comments on this Facebook post, I link all of my previous posts of dreams and such about what is to come soon: I've been prophesying these things. The time... - Jon Christian Minor | Facebook
Some Israelis were commenting on various social media sites that this was the closest to civil war they've ever seen their country.

This article is the most concise description of what happened that I could find:

Israeli lawmaker defends anal rape of Palestinian captives

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrested eight reservists on Monday as part of a probe into alleged torture of a Palestinian captive, prompting rioters, including several lawmakers, to break into a military base demanding their release. One argued that nothing was off-limits when it came to dealing with Hamas.

...According to the IDF, they have been accused of aggravated sodomy, causing bodily harm, abuse, and conduct unbecoming of a soldier.

...The arrest of the reservists on Monday interrupted a meeting of the Knesset Finance Committee, as a MP of the ruling Likud party, Hanoch Milwidsky, tried to walk out in protest.

“To insert a stick in a person’s rectum, is that legitimate?” asked Ahmad Tibi, an Israeli-Arab lawmaker.

“Yes!” Milwidsky shouted back. “If he is a Nukhba, everything is legitimate to do! Everything!”

...While some lawmakers exchanged heated words, others joined nationalist groups that stormed the Sde Teiman military base and prison, near Beersheba, where the ten suspects were held. Sde Teiman has served as a camp for Palestinians taken prisoner in Gaza.

When the military police tried to relocate the suspects to Beit Lid, a base near Netanya, the rioters followed. “Hands off the reservists,” tweeted National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

...The riots forced the IDF to redeploy three battalions “to guard the Beit Lid base not from an enemy but from angry Israeli citizens,” the Jerusalem Post noted in an editorial on Wednesday, noting that these forces had “much more pressing things to do in Gaza, in Judea and Samaria, and along the northern border against a real enemy.”

Truly alarming. Again I share that the Israel on our maps today bears no resemblance to the true Israel of Yahweh.

Being a Prophet one is called to encourage, build up and exhort the Body of Christ. (Eph. 4: 12)

It is also of Jesus. `For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy.` (Rev. 19: 10)
