As a shadow of things to come, Ezekiel 7 begins like this:

"Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel:
‘An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land."

Note that this is written to God's people: "..the land of Israel".

Clearly this passage speaks of judgment coming to God's people. We know from scripture, further revelation found in the New Testament, that "..judgment must begin at the house of God..." (Peter wrote that).

Verse 19 of Ezekiel 7 records this:
They (the people of God) will throw their silver into the streets,
And their gold will be like refuse
;
Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them
In the day of the wrath of the Lord;

Question: is this different "gold" and "silver" from that which Sean Hannity and other Republicans encourage listeners to purchase as a hedge against inflation and economic ruin? Perhaps the new silver and gold is better?

It's better because we have it now.

We are reminded of judgment every day as 150,000 people die. But in the new covenant I don't see where God deals with nations as a whole because He has people in every nation.

Silver and gold are commodities like anything else. They do go up in value when monetary policy lessens the value of money. But as are all appointed to death and judgment, none will escape judgment regardless of the resources they have accrued.
