The NRA told me that all of my life.
They think that gun laws on the books trump the constitution. They teach that tougher sentencing is the answer to crime. I disagreed once I thought it through from a Biblical and also from a constitutional pov.

How do existing guns laws ENFORCED stop crime?

They are NOT doing any job. They are there to facilitate would-be assassins. Any sane president in office right now would have fired the whole bunch for dereliction of duty. But insane Joe Biden said in response to the second attempt "They need more help"!

Punishment (jail time) is a deterrent. There should be mandatory jail time for gun crimes. It won't eliminate the crimes (nothing will), but it will reduce them. What won't reduce them is more laws that aren't prosecuted or given serious consequences (again, jail time).

There's a conspiracy going around that it was an inside job to take the heat off of Trump after his poor debate performance and the backlash from his outlandish claim about Haitians in OH. Is that one possible? If not, why not?

If a person is mentally, and emotionally so far gone for whatever reason that they SERIOUSLY CONSIDER shooting people, and take the actions required to do just that, "Legal consequences" aren't even on the radar.

It's really a SPIRITUAL issue primarily (2 Chr 7:14). You can make laws till it comes out your ears, and it will accomplish nothing.

Eliminating guns would work (we'd have to stab people instead), but wouldn't be a practical possibility, since those who'd actually turn them in would be the ones who wouldn't use them illegally anyway..

And so the "Beat goes on".

Why do you make such silly remarks instead of simply accepting the truth? This could never have happened unless it was an inside job. But you would rather believe the lying Democrats and media.

Trump's performance was good given what happened at ABC. Harris set up everything will ABC to ensure that Trump would not receive fair treatment, and there is a whistleblower's Affidavit to confirm this. She even received the questions in advance, yet could not honestly answer the first question put to her. Ans she had a sorority sister as well as her husband's good buddy supporting her.

DUH!!!! there's ALWAYS a "conspiracy" going around. One of the WORST THINGS that we've done to ourselves in the last 20 years or so is: SOCIAL MEDIA.

Fact is that SATAN (the god of this world) is around, and simply continuing to do what he does best - inspiring people to do EVIL.

Some people are just evil. As Christians, we should know this better than anyone. If they're truly and dangerously mentally ill, then they need to be put in an institution away from society.

The NRA and crooked politicians are the political machine that invented that term. The NRA uses as a mantra.
I believe you aren't a member. Just thought I'd let you know that that's who came up with that saying. They used it to lul gun owners into complacency and into forsaking their God given rights that should be protected by the federal constitution and state constitutions.
These are the kind of people that existing gun laws effect.
