Hello All, I need some advice. I work for a women and children's home and I am miserable here. I have no peace being here but I have been here for two years. I have no other open doors. I don't know what to do. Any advice.

What do you do there?

If it's feasible, could you take up a job at the local fast food place? It probably won't pay as much, but you might be happier there anyway. Sometimes a higher paying job ain't worth the money.

I will pray for you that either God improves work for you there or that He opens doors to you elsewhere when there wasn't any before.

No it's not possible because I live on campus. If you live here you have to work here unless your part of the program, like going through it. Then you can work outside the home.

That's what I did. Going on 3 years working at McDonald's.

I guess you reach a certain point in your life as you get older when you basically don't give a crap anymore. I could probably quit working and retire but what's the fun in that?

I admire anyone who works regardless of where they work or their position.

Back in the day, when I lived in Florida, I worked for a major corporation with a position of quality assurance and process troubleshooting. Had my own desk, computer. Gave presentations. Attended staff meetings. High stress job. Headaches every day. Ate Rolaids like candy.

Hour commute home from work in heavy traffic. Non-stop police sirens. Sound of gun shots popping off in the night. Hurricanes.

In Florida, particularly Orlando where I lived for over 20 years, there are two change of seasons. Hot, where the leaves or palm fronds are green, or hotter, where the greenery is dead.

More laid back here in NE Tennessee. 5 minute commute to work. Instead of gun shots and police sirens there is the sound of birds chirping. Yeah, I feed them. And the squirrels too.

It's not so bad if you think about it.
