How often do you forgive especially in relationships/ marriage?
It is my prayer that as a child of God there is nothing you cannot forgive or let go.
May we receive grace to be forgiving people in advance. No one is perfect; If we claim to be without sin, upright or straight we deceive ourselves and the truth doesn't reside in us. Forgiveness is "mandatory" no debate whether to forgive or decline. I come in peace.

Welcome!

There is a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation.

I agree we must forgive but that doesn't necessarily mean there will be reconciliation.

Forgive, but don't forget, otherwise you lose the lesson.
I've seen people in relationships/marriages be way too quick to forgive over some very serious issues, as a result those serious issues only kept getting more and more serious and even seriously dangerous.
Love them, but look out for yourself too. People can be cray-cray...sometimes they don't reveal how crazy they are right away.

Forgiveness is easy when you realize we're all just trying to succeed. Everybody you meet is just trying to make it through life the best way he knows how. Some people have just been taught different metrics for measuring success, so their lives are going to be a wreck and they may wreck yours too.

It gets muddy when people expect forgiveness to mean leaving yourself open for another attack. You can forgive somebody and still protect yourself.

Forgiveness is 100% okay but when it comes to reconciling terms and conditions must apply because some things won't go back to the way they used to be. #just apply wisdom

You have a point, but forgive and forget the pain. The bleeding will stop, the wound will heal immediately you release forgiveness but the scar "lesson" will remain. Preserve the notes for educational matters not for revenge and anger triggering efforts. Life is too short to stay in custody. The worst part is that those who wrong us moves on happily as if nothing happened. As for me, I have no room for forgiveness, hurt me now, I will ask for grace to forgive you as soon as possible for my own peace and joy. Who doesn't deserve to live a healthy life!

When it comes to forgiveness, my heart's business is strictly pumping blood. Forgiveness is not a secondary class for final damages.

It took me 20 yrs to forgive my brother who took $200,000, + family heirlooms from my inheritance. It hit me when I heard a message recently at church, 'God won't forgive you if you don't forgive others' Mt 6:15. He doesn't carry that sin on my record either when I let go of it. Rest of the story, dozens of hair plugs, face jobs, my dad's house hocked to the heavens, he's one miserable soul. He's now way up on my prayer list for deliverance, 🙏lol.

Glory be to Jesus now that you finally forgave, may God forgive you where you might have been going astray, repackage you and allocate you what is rightful yours according His glorious riches in heaven. Phil.4:19

i may not have forgiven anyone b4 i was a Christian. i would sometimes deliver retribution. however, when i became a born again Christian, forgiveness was the 1st issue God laid on my heart. it was easy to forgive all of a sudden! in truth, i didn't have to learn it, it was just there.

thank you DaughterZion! i wish you could have experienced how Jesus dealt with me on forgiveness. to forgive, it was immediate in my mind, already present in other words, easy, even fun doing it. back in 1993 when i became a born again Christian, that is what really set me on my way to becoming a mature Christian. enjoy the God given blessed day DaugtherZion. oh btw, this year i am being blessed more than ever in work, hobby work income & recreation.

What a testimony Karlon. It is very important for believers to be sharing their personal stories of how God has worked in their lives because in doing so it not only uplifts our spirit but it gives God more honour and praise. wow.

I witnessed firsthand the destructive power of withholding forgiveness in a relationship. It’s a slow progression of resentment, mistrust, bitterness, and eventually hatred. Obviously, I don’t recommend it.

While we cannot force another person to forgive us, we should be concerned if we have done our part and the other person doesn’t forgive… and say so.
