October 12th is a biblically ordained feast day. It is the Day of Atonement or Yum Kippur. (See Leviticus 16). Included in the requirements God gave His people, are instructions for atonement, not only for personal and family sins, but also instructions for the forgiveness of the nation.

These instructions begin with the identification and confession of our corporate sins and then placing those sins onto the head of a goat. That goat is then removed, along with the confessed sins away from the nation. The nation is then “clean.”

Yeshua moved obedience of Torah from physical requirements to spiritual opportunities by His death and resurrection. We don’t need goats, but we do need forgiveness.

One must wonder what would happen if this nation were to name and seek forgiveness for our many national sins and place them in the hands of Jesus.

I believe Jesus answered that question from the mount.

2 Chron 7:14:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The above verse occurs if only the faithful turn...

October 12th is not a biblically ordained feast day if using the wrong calendar. Yes, Leviticus 23 states
Lev 23:26 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Lev 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
Lev 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
Lev 23:30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Lev 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

October 12, 2024 for Yom Kippur is from a man-made tradition calendar. The Jewish "Hillel II" calendar is very off the mark from the beginning of the month and was created and changed many times over the past centuries.

There is a Biblical calendar that does not change, just as Yehovah says He does not change. Look below at the moon phase on October 3, 2024. It is a moon in conjunction. A dark moon. Hillel II calendar followers celebrated Yom Teruah on the wrong day. Therefore everything that follows is on the wrong day. Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets states the idiom "Know man knows the day or hour".

Yeshua spoke to the Pharisees and Sadducee about how they love their traditions more than the Word of God. The word in Greek for traditions is "paradosis". Any man-made tradition that does not line up with scripture should be repented of. I'm aware of using the Hillel II calendar in ignorance, not knowing better. Trying in the diaspora to keep all the feasts at the same time all around the globe.

You do well in your ignorance. Like the five wise and five foolish virgins. They know the time of Yeshua's appearance is near, but five go out on the wrong date to buy "oil" for their lamps.

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. -
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Does the date you keep Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets on matter? If your answer is yes, how can you know what is the right date?

Keeping the man-made tradition calendar, that is almost right, might cause you to miss the Bridegroom's arrival.

Thank you for the information. Honestly, I am less concerned with keeping the exact day, however it may be calculated, than keeping the feast days in spirit ad truth.

I will spend some time researching your very informative post. Thank you!

No, I don't believe, on the basis of the New Testament (Hebrews and Colossians 2) that the dates of the Old Testament feasts are at all important. Their meanings are important and carry over to the New Testament. However, because the Old Testament outward forms have been done away by Jesus' death, which fulfilled the Old Testament laws, the form of which was for the nation of Israel, not as it is at the present for the international church.

Jesus' first coming He fulfilled the Passover, by dying for you, the divorced House of Israel (ie the now known as Gentiles) so that you can now remarry YHWH (LORD). See Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and Romans 7:1-4 and Jeremiah 31.

Jesus will fulfill His second coming according to the Feast Days. YHWH is salvation/Yeshua. Accepting Jesus as your Saviour is accepting the death AND RESURRECTION of the LORD God Yehovah/YHWH. The renewed covenant is we were once an adulterous wife, mixing the LORD's ways to pagan ways. Turn from those sins and be a pure bride so that you will be ready when the Bridegroom arrives.

God never entered into covenant relationship with any nation other than Israel. Why aren't they considered the divorced bride?

So all the prayers I prayed as a kid and a young adult during Christmas on December 25th meant nothing because I had the wrong date? I was actually sinning?

No part of the God ordained biblical feasts negates or detracts from our celebrating Jesus birth into this world. I too join to celebrate that occasion with joy. All prayers given with a pure heart are valid and meaningful. God allows his people to worship him pretty much as we like as long as our worship is in spirit and the truth.

Yes, that is what I was pointing out.

Jesus said, "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. " Outside the quotes— just make sure you do it on the correct date.

Jesus is all we need,

At the foot of the Mount Sinai on Shavuot/Pentecost we see the moment the people accepted the covenant and said We will do. The marriage contract is with all the people who left Egypt and followed Moses. Not all were Hebrews, and those strangers that sojourned with them also were grafted in or adopted in, just as Paul explains in Rom_8:15; Rom_8:23; Rom_9:4; Gal_4:5; Eph_1:5.

Exo_24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

AFTER THE EXODUS we read

Exo_12:49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
Lev_7:7 As the sin offering is, so is the trespass offering: there is one law for them: the priest that maketh atonement therewith shall have it.
Lev_24:22 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.
Num_15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
Num_15:29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

Jesus had this to say " I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Why? Because He is Yehovah (YHWH/LORD) that divorced the House of Israel and in order for the LORD to not break His own Laws, He had to die and resurrect in order to remarry His adulterous wife that He divorced. See Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and how Paul figured out the mystery. See Romans 7:1-4 and Jeremiah 31.

These other nations you are referring to He did not marry. However, here is the second time the covenant was made with those who left Egypt:

Deu 29:14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
Deu 29:15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
Deu 29:16 (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;
Deu 29:17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)
Deu 29:18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

Obviously, I am not a replacement of Israel, I am a part of the commonwealth of Israel.

All sin< (reconciled) forgiven, on that cross, the last shedding of bloo. No more forgiveness, reconciliation to ever be given anymore.
‘that is done in Son at the cross in his one time willing death alone.
‘what is left is: be reconciled back to God, the Father of Son. In thanksgiving and praise, all sin taken away as far as the east is from the west for us all, to believe or not believe God in this done work for us.
believe< receive and see new in God’s Spirit and Truth. John 4:23-24
saved in the risen life, forgiven in the death

What happened in the 70AD? God destroyed Jerusalem and the temple, the place He had established to meet with His people and make His presence known.
Can you give me a 1 sentence synopsis of the book of Deuteronomy?

I stand by what I said. Discussions about the origins of some of the man made Holy Days is a separate issue. Having a pure heart is the issue.

70 AD was the last scattering of Yehovah's people.

Deu 30:1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

Deu 30:2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Deu 30:3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Deu 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

Deu 30:5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

Deu 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Deu 30:7 And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

Deu 30:8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

What does last scattering mean?
And are you able to summarize the book of Deuteronomy in a sentence?

I don't feel like you answered either question. Your answer sounds like the conclusion Solomon stated in Ecclesiastes.
