I just went back and read my original post (#1) when I started this thread.

I fear, and think I know deep down in my heart, that God has raised me up to be the unheard prophet: a raving madman preaching from the street corner about what He is going to do and that no one will listen or heed my warning. And then it will be too late.

I asked politely if you guys could please start your own thread and continue your arguments there. This has gone on long enough.
But if the argument is about whether the gift of prophecy is valid for today, how is that not pertinent to your thread? A prophet needs that gift. Wouldn't be much of a prophet without it.

You are the one who has called themself a prophet. I see no evidence. Any believer can be prophetic but that does not make them a prophet.

I did not make the connection....

This is Oct 2024.

May 2, 2023 was when you let everyone know.

 ... a prophet should have known that was the case..
I'm not sure what you mean.

You do realize the original post is from eight years ago, right? I didn't start this thread yesterday.

I can't help you. It's been explained ad nauseum throughout this thread.

Easiest summary is this: When Jesus came, Israel expected one thing but received something completely different. You want me to prophesy according to your desires. I don't get to choose how the Lord speaks to me or what He says - He does.

Numbers 12:6 "He [God] said, “Now hear My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will make Myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream."

Joel 2:28 and confirmed to be referring to the present age in Acts 2:17 “It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will have dreams, Your young men will see visions."

Do you want to take my job as a prophet? Come on over and take my sign. Travel the cities I've not been too. You will receive a crown and a blessing in Heaven for waking up the sleepers and calling the wicked to repentance. Here, you will receive scorn and rejection and you will be hated by all men for our Lord Jesus Christ's Namesake. Come and take it, I'm not selfish. I will share the glory. Come, my friend, I will make you a sign to go warn of what the Lord will do, and you too can prophesy on His behalf.

Understand that if you say no because you're afraid, then you will know why He chose me. I was willing to be that vessel. I rose to the occasion because He knew I would if He called. That's it. That's all there is to it. Nothing else.

It does not take a prophet to know that the United States is heading towards destruction...

A real prophet would have a message on how to turn the country around. Not some vague thing like, "obey our Lord Jesus Christ."
His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts!

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts."

How are they going to obey him if our ways are not His?
His thoughts not our thoughts!

To do that would require finding a teacher of integrity who can teach sound doctrine...
Not something simple like "obey him."

You are completely full of yourself. Get out of here. You want to sit and argue with people nonstop and tell everyone how it is. Jesus made it so simple to obey Him and yet you make it out like it's some cryptic spiritual mystery.

First of all, as a prophet, I've already said I've been telling people what God is going to do to this country for almost 20 years now. Where were you 20 years ago when I was preaching this? This thread itself is eight years old. Were you preaching this eight years ago? There is no turning this country around. That's the message. There is no national repentance to undo it. I believed for the longest time that the can could be kicked down the road for another generation. God has withheld judgment for the sake of His beloved followers who live in the USA. That time is soon over. Now His message is: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues." In order to be spared, and to be obedient to God in this matter, you must leave the country. Period. That's all there is to it.

As for needing "a teacher of integrity who can teach sound doctrine", no, you don't need that. A person just needs to read the Gospels and LITERALLY do what our Lord Jesus Christ said in order to be obedient.

"And do not be called leaders; for only One is your Leader, that is, Christ."

"If you love me, obey my commands"

"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you."

Very simple to understand, yet a lifetime of discipline and self-sacrifice to accomplish.

You want to hear the foundation of sound doctrine? Let me preach:

Do not confuse God's favor, blessing, calling, purpose, covenant, nor His anger, wrath, or judgment with His love.
You may be highly favored or under His wrath, yet His love does not change.
You may be the most pious follower of Jesus that ever lived, or you may be the most Satanic, genocidal, pedophile on Earth, yet His love does not change.
Our Lord Jesus Christ does not have favorites when it comes to His love. He loved us all so much that He laid down His life for us. Every single person is equally loved by Jesus beyond any worldly understanding of the word "love."
When you read the Bible and think someone is better than you, maybe they were, but He does not love them more than you. Likewise, when you see or hear of someone incredibly evil and unrighteous, do not think He loves them less than you.
It is not a cliche to say, "Jesus loves you." Many people don't know He loves them and struggle to understand the difference between these things. They think because they've sinned or lived ungodly lives, He stops loving them, this is not true. He still loves the people who end up in Hell because of their actions.
I prayed to God whether I should keep the last line of that paragraph in this message. I said, "Lord, if I keep that last line in, people will ask, 'If God is so loving, why does He send people to Hell?'" And the Holy Spirit said, "Jon, you know in my Word that I will send people to Hell. When they ask you why I would send people to Hell when I love them so much, ask them why they keep sinning when I've shown them how much I love them by dying for them."

Let me share something with you I had to learn the hard way: Genez, your theology is not 100% correct. It never will be. The whole thing is summed up in this: John 5:39 "You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me." When the Great Tribulation is upon us and we're in the dungeon waiting to get our heads chopped off for Jesus, you better not be trying to encourage me by bothering me with your personal theology.

I personally think people like you are jealous and scared to get out and do the real work of the Gospel, so you sit online all day and criticize those that are - as if you could do a better job. Get out there, Brother. Win some people for Jesus. Preach the message. Make a better sign. Endure the hate and ridicule of the multitudes. Show me how much better you can do it than I can, and then you can come back here and pat yourself on the back. I'll even encourage you for your good deeds.

You sit on here and criticize me for what the Lord has called me to do because you don't believe it. I don't know what to tell you. Sincerely pray about it, because I'm telling you with 100% certainty that our Lord Jesus Christ gave me this message and sent me to these cities to do what I've done. 100% certain. He was with me the entire time in every way. Amazing signs and wonders followed me and made it evident He was with me - besides the Holy Spirit speaking to me and approving of me the whole time. That's why I say I don't need yours or anyone else's approval, because I have His approval and that's all that matters to me. HE is all that matters to me.

I don't need your long-winded rebuttal either. You're wasting your time, my time, and everyone else's with your arguments. There's 8 billion people and 5.75 billion of them aren't Christians. Go win some people for Jesus. And when you tell them Jesus is coming back, I'll be here to encourage you in your prophesying (as you should be encouraging me in mine instead of criticizing your fellow servant in the Lord who is doing as he was commanded.)

Just about 18 years ago, I found myself living in a place I had a dream about around 1965. I was still in high school when I had that dream. The place was not existing when I had the dream. It was first built in the 90's.

Fifty years ago I was getting walking visions at a time it was unthinkable, that homosexuality would become openly accepted, and seen as a norm in our society.

Add to that… in 1968 I had a dream that flashed my life before my eyes. It was Thanksgiving night, 1968. What I was shown in the dream, I was later taken to by some people who were giving a Bible study in my sister's house. We drove all the way to another state, about three hours away. They took me to visit the Bible college they were attending.

That dream I had in 1968 turned out to be the main chapel on campus. That dream I had was about ten years before visiting and attending there. Ten years before, when I had that dream? There was no Bible college there!

But, I am not a prophet!

It has also been explained to you that prophets were used to lay a foundation in the building of the Church. That foundation are the scriptures. There is nothing you can say that has not been said by God in full. You can claim you are a prophet till the cows come home, it doesn't make it so. The scriptures trump your experience every time.

You may have started this thread but YOU DON'T OWN IT. Plus @CS1 , @Genez and @sawdust have been on topic. They're not actually violating any rules.

So you can't tell them to leave, just because their focus isn't on you. (Prophets are supposed to be HUMBLE, don't you know?)

Die in the nuclear destruction of this country that is coming then. Don't say God didn't send someone to warn you. What else can I say?

I didn't tell them to leave. I politely asked them to go to another thread to continue their argument. A 20-page argument without any possible resolution (because of egos) is not edifying to anyone.

Some prophet you are. I'm on the other side of the world mate.
If you survive, remember me after it happens then. Tell others, "God's prophet told us this would all happen (my name won't matter then). I didn't believe him at the time, but he said this would happen. As sure as he was right, so I'm sure that our Lord Jesus Christ lives."

It will give you the encouragement you need to win other souls for Jesus during that dark time when most will lose hope for humanity.

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.
“Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.
Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
Matthew 2:13

Joseph was not a prophet. He never assumed he was…

Some become mislead in believing they are a prophet just because God gives them dreams.
In the early Church, those with the gift of prophesy without having the completed cannon
of Scripture would give forth instruction that otherwise no one could study about.

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God.
Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening,
encouraging and comfort. 1 Corinthians 14:2-3

There is no comfort to be found in being a preacher of doom.
Especially one who offers no solid teachings as to comfort and encourage and to strengthen.

This would be a true prophet as one functioned in the early church...

But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others
than ten thousand words in a tongue. 1 Corinthians 14:19

Being a psychic is not the same thing as what was given as a prophet.

But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying,
they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets
of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming,
“God is really among you!” 1 Corinthians 14:24-25

That is what a prophet in the early church could do!

Today, a few mature pastor teachers having the completed cannon of Scripture to work
with in the anointing of the Spirit, can do what the prophet used to do before the Scriptures were completed.

Having dreams that come true does not make one a prophet.
That was only a small part of what a prophet contributed to the churches.

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.
“Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.
Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” Matthew 2:13

Joseph was not a prophet.

We can all have dreams that come true. Some, more than others.
