@seoulsearch Winston and Holla sound like intriguing characters🤩 I keep reading mixed comments about them but missed out on who(?) they are. Please fill me and any others, uninformed like me in, as I have a need to know something about whose behind names I hear bandied about, lol.

Holla is cool. Kind of quiet, but nice to hang out with.

Winston is a pushy little twerp who will not leave you alone.

While I can't read all 7 pages rn, I'm in defense of all owls whether they long for my food or not 😄 Every yr squirrels eat 1/3 of my pomegranates and this yr I happened to find two- foot and a half lg plastic brown owls packed away, waiting for their cue. I put them on poles facing where the squirrels get in, and they look so foreboding I the squirrels hot-tailed it out of here🙌 They probably do look hungry esp to the squirrels😂 I didn't get to any Holla info, another owl, lol?

A much more polite, well behaved owl. I have met her. She's a nice young lady.

Nice to know, tho it's hard to believe little Winston or any owl is a bad character. I'll have to get another voice on this before I'm convinced. Owl power🦉!!!

That is easily done, if you can get pop click to come by and make a post. I hear Winston is currently getting on pop click's last ever loving nerve.

Hi @TabinRivCA!

So sorry I'm late to answer, for some reason, the system didn't alert me of your post. :(

So... I have an inner 5-year-old that I don't think will ever grow up. When I was a kid, I used to talk to my Mom through stuffed critters, and I have carried on that tradition because it makes her laugh. It's just that over time, they've expanded their territory and now talk to my friends, too. I was telling my Dad, if I had been able to muster up some kind of talent as a ventriloquist, people would have called it amazing; since I actually can't hide the fact that I happen to be talking when my critters are talking, too, people just call me crazy. :sneaky: I have what I call a modest (but it's all relative, some might find it excessive ) collection of stuffed friends. And 6 of them may or may not be owls...

Each one has a name, favorite food, and, unfortunately for them, a piece of my personality that gets projected onto each critter. In their defense, this makes MOST (normal) people laugh, and others... Well. Just ignore the anti-Winston propaganda. I assure you it's all blown way out of proportion.

Hoot is the owl in my current avatar -- he decided he wanted to dress up as Mickey Mouse for Halloween. :p Holla is his twin sister (they're both gray with orange accent feathers, but Holla is a Valentine edition and has a red heart on her front.) Lyxnx had mentioned the expression, "Hey you kids, pipe down with all that hootin' and hollerin'", and it seemed fitting, so that's where they got their names.

Hoot got a lot of my better qualities -- he's sweet, polite, and always concerned about others. I've had insomnia for about as long as I can remember, so Holla is the part of me that, in another dimension, could always fall asleep. She loves taking naps (and scouting out new napping grounds,) lasagna (I always say she's my Italian owl,) and brownies. She has an occasional mischievous streak when her and Winston gets to scheming (they got in trouble for pulling the other owls' tails.)

Speaking of Winston... So you've already met my little TURQUOISE guy, and since he's the smallest and runt of the flock (my Mom even says the stuffing machine must have run out when it got to him,) he kinda feels the need to prove himself.

He tries his best, but unfortunately, he inherited the part of me that ATTEMPTS to be good, but sometimes just can't hold it in, no matter how much he tries. Don't we all have a little of that?!

Lynx causes plenty of his own mischief -- I think the real reason he always talks smack about Winston is because he doesn't like the competition.

Thank you for your Pro-Owl stance!!! 🦉

You would fit right in with our little flock. ❤️

That's only because she hasn't met the little pipsqueak yet. He could get under mother Teresa's skin.

We're getting a lot of squirrels this year and they are eating some of the plants and some fruit but the fruit's not ripe yet so they've only eaten a few so far but I see them all the time and I didn't know owls were their natural predator. I might have to buy some fake ones too.

If you can't beat em, eat em. There are recipes for squirrel pie.
