Good Morning, Everyone!

It's been a while since we had a fun, fluffy thread, so let's go for it!

I have some eggs, ham, cheese, and vegetables... It seems to me like a breakfast sandwich is in order!

But which kind of bread product makes the perfect breakfast sandwich?!!

Inquiring (and very hungry) minds want to know!!!

I have never liked croissants, and I had to cheat to make sure that I even spelled it correctly. For me, they are too dry and flakey. Kind of like eating chips of paint.

Biscuits? The only time that I ever eat them is when I am sopping up some gravy on Thanksgiving.

English muffins are definitely in the running. I like them with eggs, cheese, and bacon, or even with just butter and grape jelly.

Tortillas? I like them, but with some kind of Spanish or Mexican food inside of them.

Bagels are definitely in the running as well, but that is determined by how hungry I am. They can be a little heavy, so if I am not too hungry, then I will probably go with a lighter choice.

Waffles or pancakes? I like them both, and I eat them pretty regularly by themselves. Personally, I do not like them as the outsides of a sandwich.

Plain old bread would work, but probably whole wheat toast.

I don't eat much meat for breakfast but I do enjoy a good breakfast burrito occasionally. The secret is cook the vegetables separately then mix

Recipe
1 cube tofu or 4 eggs (If using tofu add tumric and garlic)
1-2 bell peppers
1 onion
2-3 carrots
Salsa
Lemon juice

I'm omnivorous. Everything mentioned so far (except of course the tofu) sounds good to me.

I'm fond of leftover eggs. Take whatever is left over from last night, broccoli, carrots, ham, whatever, dice it up, crack some eggs in it and cook it scrambled.

Leftover eggs works great with pizza. Scrape the cheese and toppings off, cook it scrambled with eggs, eat the crust with butter while it's cooking.

I have to watch my carbs but treated myself to an English muffin, toasted just enough to have a light, crunchy crust, and delightfully smothered with AMPLE amounts of butter. :cool:

I would actually like to add more tofu into my diet, and this looks like an excellent suggestion. :D

Lol.

I know it's dumb, but in order to ration/"weigh out" my carbs/calories, I'll tell myself, "Ok, I'll skip the jelly..." but then I'll have a whole muffin instead of just half of one. :cool:

My stomach really is growling now, so I have to go get some food before I take a bite out of my keyboard.

Personally, I never liked dry food, so I try to add something to it to remove the dryness. That is where the jelly comes in. Plus, I just like jelly, but not so much with peanut butter that kind of works like cement that is ready to harden in my throat. Was that descriptive enough for you?

I am not really a fan of crunchy food either. That is why I nixed Lynx's carrots. Not really fond of dry, crunchy broccoli either, but if it is softened and seasoned with butter, lemon, and some fresh garlic, then...

I think that my head just exploded. :LOL:

I recently have been thinking about how Jesus and the monks eat and how different our food is today. Meal back then was bread dipped in vinegar or oil some easterner still eat like this with side dishes of fruit/vegtables/nuts and hamas or tahini sauce. The Romanians for instance have a tendency to eat whole vegetables along with their bread eating everything separately. Whole green onions are serve at lunch and dinner. But yes they have more complicated recipes too like saremale which is boiled cabbage wraps.

It's similar to left over spaghetti sandwiches. Toast bread add butter/garlic/salt then top with cold spaghetti

Yes we still do that. They are shipped in frozen and baked.

And our bagels are neither steamed nor boiled. They are toasted. Whoever heard of a boiled bagel? It would get all soggy...
