Since we are talking about a sandwich, I'd probably go for the croissant. I like the flakiness and flavor of croissants. I'd probably put sausage, egg, and cheese on mine. I'd equally choose pancakes with the same sandwich filling.


If you weren't asking about a sandwich, this would have been a quick selection for me. Biscuit! My favorite breakfast meal is biscuit & gravy, preferably if it's homemade by me.
Second choice would have been bagel with plain cream cheese schmear. I only like bagels from a bagel shop though, or if I get them in the store I go for Einsteins (I love their Asiago bagels). Otherwise, store bought bagels aren't that great in my opinion.

Btw, I like all the carbs on this list! I wouldn't forgo any selection.

In case anyone was wondering how my own personal saga panned out :ROFL:, for my egg sandwich, I had a choice of tortillas, or English muffins (the only kinds of bread I had.)

I went with the muffins.

I just couldn't resist the nice crispy crust you get on a lightly toasted English muffin. :geek:

Add in eggs and cheese... I was going to add veggies but... Beh.

Why ruin something so good by trying to turn it into a handheld salad? :cool:

My favorite is regular bread. White or whole grain with an egg and ham(or bacon) w/real cheese(not processed). And miracle whip or mayo.
Another miracle whipper 🥳
They seem few and far between.
My second favorite is basically the same as yours. But bacon, not ham, and I just use American cheese slices haha. MW over mayo, but happy with either.
My favorite that I've not had in over a decade was a breakfast burrito I used to get in CA. Big fat ones made at a rinky dink burger joint. But those burritos were locally famous 😋

Ooh! Just in time for my breakfast, well, brunch more likely, after a nightsift.

I have not tasted all of those options.. as we do not have all in here, or then I just live in a cave and see nothing when I poke my nose out of the cave to get some food..


Corn tortilla is one good option, with cheddar (never the orange one), ham, mayo, and some spices or seasoning.


But the bread roll that has seeds and stuff in it is my usual choice. I don't own a toaster, so to the pan it goes, sometimes with little bit of oil.

Plain mayo goes on top, then sprinkle of barbeque seasoning (I'm weird, I know), cheddar, beaten eggs fried with seasoning of cayenne pepper and salt ...and sugar (I like it a bit sweet), on top goes the ham. If I have tomatoes those go in there somewhere. Iceberg lettuce too, if found. Today I had nothing fresh in them:

Another quick favourite versions are:
bread rolls (from the pan), butter, sliced boiled potatoes (hot) on top with herbamare salt and then cheese, preferably cheddar. Ham if found in the fridge, egg goes well with this one too.

Simpliest one: bread roll with butter or mayo, alfalfa sprouts and cheese.



About bagels and water boiling, we don't have bagels (as far as I know), but our own version 'rinkeli'. Which is similar to looks, round and a hole in the middle, but not as plumb as a bagel, bald thin cousin I guess.
There are variations to it, water rinkeli and butter rinkeli, of course cheese version etc.
Water one used to be boiled for around 40 seconds and then off to the oven it went.
Nowadays more likely, it is steamed for a ten ish seconds in the oven, not the same as boiling in my opinion.
The butter version has a huge amount of butter in the dough, and it too gets a steam at the beginning of the bake.
This is what our rinkeli looks like:

I almost forgot, rice pies! Or karelian pies, if made correctly. Rye crust with rice porridge in the middle.
That is topped with boiled egg-butter mix: the regular version:

But whatever is wanted (or found) on top: butter, cheese, ham, salmon, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes on top of it. Preferably the pie is fresh out the oven, or if not fresh it is heated before anything.

If I make it by myself, I use only rye flour for the crust. Another option I use is buckwheat flour crust for gluten free version. That one is super good too.



I need variation for my breakfast, hence so many options for me, I simply can not just pick one..

@Lynx Sorry, no actual room, only a nook in a railway carriage that is on my yard, and a position of a handyman :LOL: Payment comes in form of meals and nooks..

Doing the dishes is very, very good negotiation technique, highly tempting :D

The Costco croissants are the bomb
