Hey Everyone,

I've been thinking about these things this morning...

Of course I am VERY thankful for God, family, and friends. But earlier this month, I was traveling, and after reading headlines about all the winter storms blasting through various airports, I am VERY, VERY thankful that I don't have to be traveling (very far) this week.

* What about you?

* What are some not-as-commonly-mentioned things you're thankful for this holiday?

I also have 2 Thanksgiving dinners to get through the next few days.

* How do YOU prepare?

* Do you go without eating the day before, or fast the day of, all the way up until you attend the big feast(s)?

I always wake up early, so I just had a small bowl of protein cereal. Dinner isn't for another 6 hours... and I'm debating on whether I'm should eat anything else or just hold out for "The Big Showdown." :p

What do YOU do?

What I am thankful for in my life, is having an abundance of food always at my disposal, an actual bed for the first time in ten years (was sleeping a futon for 9 years where springs were coming out of the mattress, with barely any padding), I’m thankful for my having my own room for the first time in 9 years, for having clothes that fit me, even though I gained around 30 pounds this year, being able to fellowship here, share my stories and dark experiences with people who need an example on what not to do and how to overcome it and for someone who has come into my life recently that supports me with love, care and respect, even when the world seems against me and in such a cornered position that only the power of God can get me out of this situation.

So, I am thankful for that.

My game plan for making it through the holiday season, is to make sure I go to the family gatherings, whether I feel like it or not and just shine like I usually do at those events, making sure I talk to the most isolated and possibly hated person there, so they feel God’s peace and comfort through me.

When comes to the rest of the days…spend time on here, while making time for my significant other and continue to make music, while spending time with the lord upon waking up and during times throughout the days and weeks where I sense him tugging at me, to spend time with him.

I am thankful for a tight family.

I hear a lot of people complaining about what a trial it is to endure family dinners over the holidays. Family dinners are a marvelous time in my family. So I am glad for my family.

As for what my game plan is, I'm probably going to spend all night after I get off work and most of the day tomorrow tinkering with a bike. My phone tells me the last pieces I need to electrify my ride have been delivered.

I'm using an adapter I got online so I can use a power tool battery to power my electric bicycle. I don't have to worry about getting the biggest battery in the world, because I can just swap it out when it's dead.

Dinner is at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, but the auction is at 5:00 p.m., so I have a decision to make. Hang around and listen to family chit chat, which is always entertaining, or get to the auction on time?

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

This is a blog about the rapture, about the Bible, and about the Lord.

Thank you Lord, you have delivered me from mine enemies. I had to leave Facebook, I had to leave a previous "Christian" forum before being able to post on this forum. But this blog has been lifted up above all those who tried to cancel it, and I thank You. Here I am, in the midst of the internet with all the heathen singing praise to the Lord Jesus.

Thank you Lord for giving me the truth, and giving me the discernment to not listen to vain people or with dissemblers. I have loved your church and rejected the congregation of evil doers, I refused to sit with the wicked. You have washed me with Your blood and every day I wash in the water of your word, every day I compass your altar, O Lord. I do this that I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. For this I give You thanks.

Lord, I cried unto you when I had cancer and You healed me. You brought my soul up from the grave and kept me alive that I should not die. Sing unto the Lord, all ye saints, give thanks to Him with a grateful heart, remember His holiness. Lord the sin of the world is like a foul poison in the water and Your holiness is like cool mountain springs of crystal clear water. Thank You Lord.

Thank You Lord that You turned my mourning for my son into dancing, You have put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness. This was all done to the end that I may sing praises to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever.

Lord I remember my adversity when my enemies rejoiced and gathered themselves together, they gathered themselves together against me and I knew it not, they did tear me and ceased not. With hypocritical mockers at Your table, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. Lord you rescued my soul from destruction and from the lions. I was able to stand in the great congregation and give You thanks. I have been able to praise you among much people. For this Lord I give you Thanks.

Lord You have reminded me of my vows of consecration and of Your faithfulness and so I give you Thanks. I called upon You in the day of trouble and You delivered me and You shalt glorify me. Lord, I give You thanks.

O Lord I have seen the rich and the mighty, who are proud and boastful. But I am poor and sorrowful. I trust in You to let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the name of God with a song and I will magnify Him with thanksgiving. With a grateful heart I will sing praises unto the Lord most high.

In this blog, O God, do we give thee thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for thy name is near, Your coming is imminent, and all thy wondrous works do declare this. So we thy sheep of they pasture will give thee thanks forever, we will show forth thy praise to all generations. It is a good think to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High.

O come, let us sing unto the Lord, let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. And so I call on all the saints to give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name: make known His deeds among the people. Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever. Thank you Lord that this honor have all your saints.

Save us, O Lord our God. We see the impending nuclear holocaust and so we call on You for Your salvation. And gather us among the heathen to the Father's house as You promised, that we would give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in Your praise. O give thanks to the Lord, the one that we obey, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemed say so! We have been redeemed out of the hand of the enemy! And Lord we pray, gather us out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north and from the south! O that men would praise the Lord when they see His goodness and the wonderful works, especially the rapture! Let all those men who see this sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing!

Lord Jesus, I will offer thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the Lord. At midnight when your judgment falls I will rise to give thanks unto thee because your judgments are righteous. At that time all the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as a testimony to Israel the Prince of God, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord Jesus. Give thanks unto the Lord Jesus, His commandments are good and His mercy endures forever. Give thanks unto the God of gods, for when we pray He answers and His mercy endures forever. Give thanks unto the Lord of Lords, for when we pray He moves the kings and the rulers to do His will, and His mercy endures forever. Give thanks unto the God of heaven, for when the only way to be saved is to be snatched up to heaven, He moves and His mercy endures forever. Surely the righteous who stand on the Lord's blood shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God.

I am thankful for the Bible because I would be totally lost without it. Not only in the world to come, but in this life also. I have let it slip a bit lately because I have been so busy and distracted with other things, but I need to get back to basics.

I am also thankful for the few kind people that I know in real life. There are not too many of them, but a small amount of them is better than none at all. I know what it is like to have nobody to talk to (other than God), and I am truly thankful to at least have some other humans to talk to at times (although not frequently because they are busy with their own lives).

This may seem like a weird mention, but I truly am thankful for air conditioning in the hot months, and for heat in the cold months. I am also thankful that I have a car, even though it needs some repairs pronto.

And last, but certainly not least, I am thankful for the parents of whoever it was who made the first backscratcher. Aside from communion with God, I don't know if there is any greater pleasure in life than scratching a normally unreachable itch. Can I get an amen?

A month ago I went to the ER because I wasn't able to run. I was typically able to run 5 miles a day 5 days a week. I thought it was a symptom of a seasonal allergy but a month later I'm at home recovering from open heart surgery. They did a repair on my mitral valve which had failed. In three months I'll be able to get back to a normal life after being very careful during those 3 months.

So while heaven is very enticing, I'm thankful that I have more time to be there for my kids, to be involved in the ministries I'm involved in, and to generally enjoy the life God has given me. It can be very good when we're walking in Christ.

As for the big meal today, I'm the cook in our family and I'm not capable of that for several weeks. A friend of my wife has offered to box up a Thanksgiving meal and send it with my wife when wife goes to pick it up. Blessings upon that cook.

Hi @Tall_Timbers,

We definitely notice when you're gone but I didn't want to pry. I'm SO sorry for everything you've been through but very, very thankful that you received good care!! Praise God that you were able to find out what the real problem was and have it treated.

We're very glad that God has "extended your warranty," so to speak. :)

And my God bless the very kind person who is providing for your family today!

We're very happy to have you back. :)
