But, she didn't like discussing opinions other than her own.
She is very knowledgeable about a lot of subjects which made it difficult to converse with her....because the introduction of new information that she didn't seek or learn herself was treated as unimportant and "off topic". Which is a pity....she could have been a good member here if she learned to learn from others...

Ahhhh well.

Sometimes the discussions seem more like arguments but in reality it's a learning tool. It's not that they are trying to annoy you. It's that your surrounded by teachers. If you understand something different then our Fathers view on it they are going to correct you. But this can be also achieved by reading the Bible and fellowship can also be done at your church. I'm not convinced "she" was even a she, or that those pictures of "her" were really even her. Something smacked of the inauthentic from the get-go; to me at least. The things "she" said remined me of someone else who used to post here voluminously.

I think she disliked hard discussion because she wasn't equipped for it.

She probably did have a seminary degree as she claimed, but her knowledge did not seem to hold up well when pressure-tested.
That would seem to indicate that although she had probably been taught a lot, she was only repeating what she'd been taught, and lacked a genuine understanding of the subjects.


I'm just an ordinary guy, and I don't claim to be an expert on anything, but the good people of CC definitely keep me on my toes.

@ParticularWife, it would be nice if you stick around. I didn't even get to know you!

I think you've lead such a cloistered life: homeschooled -> church approved college education -> married the first guy that became your boyfriend who also goes to the same church. You haven't gotten enough time to get to know other Christians who have different experiences. Which is why we all don't always agree with each other. But if God can still love us and want us to get along despite that, you will be able to exercise that too along with us if you stay.

Hope you change your mind and come back! We'll still have those differences but God will teach you how to get along with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
