I think Trump should start a program for low income high school graduates and give them full scholarships to tech colleges, so Americans can fill these jobs. And the money goes back into America instead of to the families overseas. Problem solved
I'm similar to Lynx in terms of getting emotionally involved in politics. I'm permanently emotionally involved with God, then family and then extended family and friends and church.

Before this came up I'd put money on the fact that they were going to enact project 2025 right away. However now it seems possible that Musk could drive away that faction or that faction could drive away musk. Or they could be so consumed with infighting that nothing gets it done either way

I'm not a Trump follower, I'm a Jesus follower. In the case of the H1-B Visas, I'm solidly in the Bannon camp. Regarding Musk, I don't trust him either and I think Trump should be wary of him.
The H1-B program has been an anti-thesis to the idea of America First. It has long been used against Americans. Since the govmint and corporations have used it in that way, it should be abolished all together.

Is there any type of immigration that you support? And if so what is it?
No one asked the Indian Peoples when the first Europeans immigrated to the US beginning before during the colonies. This is worthy of meditation by any and all.

I disagree and if we weren't importing foreign white collar workers the degrees that Americans seek would shift and any gaps would get filled.

Yes. I was attached to foreign embassies a couple of times in my life. Once a week long lines would form and remain all day as people tried to immigrate legally to the United States. It's not an easy process.
Most countries including the USA have a large aged population and a proportionally smaller younger population. I think the USA should make legal immigration much, much easier for anyone who can demonstrate they can make a worthwhile contribution to the US economy. It should be mutually beneficial.
As far as illegal aliens are concerned, they should be identified multiple ways and that data stored and they (every one of them) should be deported and never be allowed to lawfully step foot in the USA, ever, for any reason.
Because the H1-B program has been so greatly abused, I think it should be completely shut down. I do believe that the USA can benefit from specific skill holders. In those cases you don't need a specific program, just give a green light to all those around the world trying to immigrate legally who possess those skills that we're short of. The difference is those people would be working to become US citizens whereas the H1-B Visa holders are temporarily here and will eventually have to leave the USA.
There are some other circumstances where I'd be in favor of offering foreign nationals US citizenship.

Do you honestly think Americans will work those jobs? And if Americans do not work those jobs and we end up having supply chain shortages because they can't get the product to market, what options do you think we have at that point?
If you completely shut it down, prices will go away, way up. You think you've seen an inflation jump so far... Just wait until employers have to pay fair wages for skilled labor.
Mind you, I'm not saying the current visa situation is right. I'm just saying there will be consequences.
