The Donald got elected mainly for one reason: His followers wanted to stick it to those who tried to hold him accountable for his crimes. They succeeded; he'll remain free for now. Hard to say what will happen when he leaves office though.

Did anyone find out about the apocalyptic movie they were filming in LA last week? I think I looked outside once last week and smelled fire. We also got a few emergency evacuation notices, telling us to evacuate our home. Hollywood is funny….

From what I understand it is set to be released this summer in a theater near you.

Welcome to Agenda 2030

LA installed smart meters on houses to monitor and report electricity usage. One brilliant feature to these meters is that they have a lithium ion battery. You may ask yourself why a meter attached to a homes electricity needs a battery, well that clearly you are not thinking like Caesar Nero. When they are exposes to fire they will catch fire and burn at 6,000 degrees F. Since they are attached to the electric wires in the house they transmit that heat throughout the house so that these houses burn from the inside out.

So perfectly reasonable explanation, you don't need space lasers targeting homes with the smart meters, simply physics.

Now you might also ask, surely if these things are such a big fire risk wouldn't the insurance companies be aware? Yep, and State Farm cancelled 70% of their policies.

Gives a whole new meaning to "You will own nothing and be happy". Look at all the happy people in LA and Lahaina.

Good summary of what has happened to date and what is going on right now.

Already they are predicting $250 billion in damages, that is twice the inflation adjusted numbers for Katrina which was the costliest natural disaster prior to this event. 150,000 have been displaced already. They make it very clear that it is not over yet and the worst could still be to come.

When asked if there is anything she regrets about her handling of the fire and preparing for it the Mayor of LA responded "Everything could be better". Hard to argue with that. Since she agrees everything was worse than it could have been wonder if she is now going to resign?

This article summarizes the situation

1. Fire is less than 50% contained.
2. Weather conditions are now favorable to get the fire under control.
3. Estimates on the damages is $250 billion. (By comparison Katrina was the costliest disaster to hit the US and cost $125 billion when it was all said and done. However, the estimates on the damages from Katrina were $60 billion a year after it hit, so it is highly likely this estimate will also rise significantly).

One of the stunning things I saw on the videos was a street with several homes blazing and yet no fire trucks. When they asked why the reason is there is no water in the fire hydrants. They now need to have water delivered by truck. This obviously reduces how many fires they can fight at any one time and so there are fires all over LA county that are burning that they are not responding to.

Great idea for a scene in an apocalyptic movie

Imagine the city has been burned to the ground, nothing but ashes and then the governor comes out and is talking to the press. He is standing in front of the burned out wreck of a city while the music "I feel like dancing" is playing, he is bouncing to that music while talking about how he is already talking to land use speculators who want to buy up this land that just burned to the ground. However, I can't take credit for this idea, I got it watching this video.

If Landlords cannot evict tenants who fail to pay rent what do you think is going to happen?

Los Angeles to Seize Properties: Rent Increases and Evictions To Become ILLEGAL

There are many rental properties not damaged in the fire, but the owners are soon to go bankrupt. There is more than one way to burn down a city and buy up the property for pennies on the dollar.
